Summer Camp

It's been 5 years since then, and I am 10 years old. In these 5 years I was able to keep Pikachu with a Pokéball the Professor gifted me after Pikachu wished to stay with me. Pikachu has had immense growth in these 5 years.

Even without being able to fight against gym leaders and rarely against other trainers, he has grown to Elite Tier being able to contend with Pokémon from the Elite Four.

I haven't encountered any new Pokémon worth catching since then and I do t want to waste my only Pokéball I was gifted by the system especially since the shop system is still grayed out.

Ash has turned 6 and absolutely loves Pikachu and can't wait to catch his own one day, little does he know....

Tomorrow, Professor Oak's first summer camp begins and I'm going along with Ash. I remember from the anime he meets Serena here, I wonder if anyone else I could recognize will be here.

Hmm I look over at Pikachu who is chasing Ash around the yard 'Observe'

I nod in appreciation at his efforts then think of my own over the past years, I have been able to tap into my Aura after lots of effort. It took 3 years to achieve, and my Aura is apparently the hardest to train according to the system, unfortunately it would tell me much else.

I am able to send telepathic command to my Pokémon, form barriers to defend my self, boost my physical capabilities, and scan my surroundings.

I'm still training it but that's all I've gotten so far. Even trying to strengthen my body through Aura has been very difficult, and I am only able to do it after so much practice and even then I'm only as strong as an average adult, which is admittedly a lot for a 10 year old. But, not enough....

I stop my thoughts and yell, "Ash, it's time to get ready for bed, let's head inside!"

"Aww! I wanna keep playing with Pikachu!"

Pikachu hops over to me before climbing on my shoulder, I give him a little rub before turning back to Ash.

"You can play tomorrow we have the summer camp to join."

"Uhg, alright fine..."

I ruffle his hair as we walk in, "Don't be so upset we'll be able to play with not just Pokémon but other kids from across the world!"

He smiles, "You're right! I'm gonna go straight to bed!"

He sprints off until I grab his collar and say, "Go brush your teeth first!"

"Fine!"

—————

The next day I'm up with mom making some breakfast.

"So honey, are you ready for camp?"

"Yeah, can't wait!"

Which is true as I want to see if I can meet any famous characters from the show.

"Can you go wake up Ash please sweetie?"

"Aright mom."

I head upstairs to where Ash's room is and enter. He's sleeps like a maniac with his blankets and pillows everywhere while in the strangest position possible. I shake him awake and say,

"Ash it's time to get up."

"Ehh.....5 more minutes."

Hmph fine be that way, I look over at Pikachu whose on my shoulder and we both nod to each other. He fires off a jolt of Thundershock at Ash.

"AHH! I'm up! I'm up!"

"Cmon breakfast is ready." I say while walking out of his room.

"So.....mean..."

———-

Ash and I have just arrived where the summer camp is starting. Ash is wearing a orange tank top with a yellow design and blue shorts. I have on a black t-shirt with blue jeans and Pikachu is wearing my hat while he sits on my shoulder.

Oak starts his presentation explaining what the purpose is of the summer camp and what we will be doing over the next two weeks.

It's mostly to teach us of what to do as trainers, like how to set up tents, signs to look out for, and what food to eat, things like that. Kinda like a Pokémon version of Boy Scouts.

Most of the kids here don't have any Pokémon but a select few do.

I don't recognize anyone here but continue to keep a look out.

——

It's been a few days since then and Ash has yet to meet Serena. I have been on the lookout for new Pokémon and have finally been able to locate one.

I used my aura to scan my surroundings and have located a Pokémon nearby that doesn't feel like the others by a lake.

I rush over to lake with Pikachu and see a little Pokémon running towards the lake out from the forests.

A totodile!

They are very rare especially in the Kanto region! As one of the Johto starters they rarely are seen in the wild as most are bred for new trainers.

"Let's catch it Pikachu!"

I yell while taking the Pokéball out of my system's inventory.

I mentally call out an attack for him.

{Use Quick Attack then follow up with a Thunder Wave.}

He zooms across the field and instantly arrived by Totodile smashing him into the ground before following up with a thunder wave, perfectly timed as the Pokéball I threw when he used quick attack arrives and hits the Totodile converting him to white energy before sucking him in.

'Shake'

'Shake'

'Shake'

'Click!'

"Yes! We did it Pikachu! We caught a Totodile." I say while waking toward the ball when suddenly a purple flame slams into the ground in-front of me.

"Hey, who did that!"

Soon a girl walks out of the tree line with a Gible by her side, "I found that Totodile first! I have been chasing it all day!"

"Yeah, well too bad, it would have escaped if I didn't catch it. So he's mine."

I say calmly walking to pick it up.

"No it's mine!!" She continues to yell before ordering her Gible to use tackle on me.

{ Take care of it Pikachu. }

He nods his head while I continue walking, "Eh, what's a Pikachu gonna do to my Gible whose a ground type don't you know anyth—"

SLAM!

Pikachu used agility before instantly arriving next to the Gible headed towards me before slamming it onto the ground.

"—Eh?!"

Gible is barely conscious as I pick up Totodile's ball before placing it on my hip.

I look at the Gible and see it get back up and I'm impressed because Pikachu might not have gone all out but that was still a powerful slam, "Hmm, that's a good Gible you got there....." I look over to her and ask, "You seem like a decent trainer, what's you're name?"

The girl is still in a state of shock seeing her prized Pokémon so quickly dispatched by a Pikachu and isn't paying attention much and only mumbles out, "...Cynthia.."
