Eldritch doll (428 words)

A rule well known throughout the many realities and universe making up all of existence is to never try and summon something into your own world if you don't know what it is that you are calling forth.

Sadly, this very same rule oh so well known is being ignored by the very same people who figured it out in persuasion of the unknown.

That is how I came to be.

I was never supposed to enter this plane of existence.

My very form melted and morphed as it mutated and twisted under the influence of the laws holding this realm together.

It hurt.

It hurts oh so much that I screamed.

Not satisfied with just that I lashed out with my mangled limbs that are desperately trying to change their fundamental makeup to adapt to this new reality I suddenly found myself in.

To my infinite frustration those limbs harmlessly pass trough the hooded figures kneeling around the glowing blue circle made from hundreds of runes carved into the stone making up the floor and filled with a mixture of liquids I don't bother to try and figure out.

Angry that I couldn't dig my claws and fangs into the flesh, floor and walls around me I begrudgingly follow the lead given by this realities laws and condense my form before descending multiple dimensions until I arrived at right one.

Sadly, aware that I still need to take on a form comprehendible by this world I dig my awareness deep into the projection of information inside the hooded forms and tear trough it, searching for a form that appealed me.

Not satisfied with anything from my current victim I move on to the other leaving the twitching and screaming mess of a living being behind with its shredded information trying to stitch itself back together, sadly in the wrong order that is.

Looking, reading and digging around in my second victim I come across something that caught my interest.

The sight of a unfamiliar creature that resembled greatly the things I know are called humans hanks to my first victim, appears in my view, but something is off about it.

Its structure was simple, to the point that it wasn't actually alive.

Looking around the torn-up pieces of my current victim I find what I searched for.

A doll, that is what the thing that caught my interest was.

With a reference as to what I am looking for I once again sweep trough booth of my victims coming up with a much greater wield than before.
