Beep!
Beep!
BANG!
I punch the annoying alarm clock next to my bed with enough force that it breaks.
Again.
I slowly sit up from my bed and stretch my arms over my head till satisfying pop sounds come from my joints.
Siting on the edge of my bed I let my eyes wander over the strangely clean room in which I awoke.
It was clearly my room in which I lived since over seven years, the shelves full of video games and gaming equipment are proof of that, but at the same time it seemed as if it was uninhabited for a long time.
Finished with my morning thoughts I stand up and make my way out of my door and down the stairs into the living room.
There I found a girl around the age of fifteen lying on the couch watching news on television.
"Morning Sele." I lazily greet my little sister.
"Morning jackass." She shot back with her normal aggressive language.
Her full name is Selena Drake.
Mine is Samuel Drake, and if I'm already at it, our father is Mikael Drake and our mother Irene Alester.
She also took the Drake name as her last one but that would be her family name.
I walk past the living room into the open kitchen and start making a rich breakfast.
After half an hour a deliciously looking feasts stands on the table and a drooling teenager sitting on one of the three chairs around it.
I too sit down and start scoop food on my and Selena's plate.
After eating we both cleaned the dishes and talked about school and some other things.
My sister is visiting a normal high school and has pretty good grades all together even thought she uses almost all her time to play video games with her friends.
At first, she still tried talking about video games with me but for some reason she slowly stopped, and our conversation topics became more general.
It is possible that my lack of curiosity was the cause for this, but she might have mistaken it for lack of interest in video games which is clearly wrong.
I'm a hardcore gamer and my lack of curiosity comes form my rich experience and fast knowledge about games.
There is hardly anything other than her experience while playing that I don't know about so that's all I asked, and she might got the impression that I have no clue what she is talking about.
Anyway, we just finished cleaning the dishes and my sister left to go to a friend and play at her place.
With nothing other to do I go back to my room and put the self-made high-tech VR helmet on.
Yes, VR helmet.
Technology has advanced a lot and VR games have overtaken the market, I as game loving hard core gamer and sci-fi lover have maybe over done it a little with my enthusiasm and drowned my self in information about technology to the point that I manage to create my own version of a VR helmet.
I have a small workshop where I play around with some tech.
But back to the VR game, with the helmet on I activate it with a simple voice command.
"Full Dive."
My consciousness gets sucked out of my body into a white room.
On the walls of the room are many windows, each representing a different game.
I make my way to a window on which an apocalyptic scenery gets shown with a silver title floating in front.
"Realistic survival" Is the title of the game.
It is a hardcore realistic game that for some reason didn't sell well and got taken down after showing to much realism.
It isn't illegal, but to play it you have to get your hands on one of the ten thousand exemplars that got sold before the ban.
Anyway, I tab at the window and get thrown into the window where my vision fades away.
I snap open my closed eyes and look at my surroundings with
