10 An endless nightmare

My head feels like it's stuffed to the seams with cotton.. my throat is dry and scratchy... my eyes are dry and feel as though they're stuck together with glue. I manage to pry my eyes open and flinch at the lights blinding my sight. After a few small blinks my vision starts to clear and I realize that I'm in a hospital. I groan quietly as my neck strains to tilt my head to the side. One look out the window tells me that it's nighttime. I try to sit up but immediately come to regret my decision as a stabbing pain grills into my stomach. I tilt my head to the other side to see a male figure slumped over in a chair with a laptop in his hands, the light from the LEDs illuminating his face, and with a closer inspection I realize that it's my boss titan. I let out a small groan as new waves of pain rushed through my head as I try to remember what happened. Titan jumps at the sound and immediately closes his laptop and pushing it to the side, he leans forward resting his elbows on his knees and looks at me, large bags beneath his eyes. "I'll go tell the nurses you're awake" his voice is gruff and sounds as though he's half bear. I watch his retreating figure and try once more to remember how I got here. After a few moments the memories start to flow back into my groggy brain. I had been attacked by a man I didn't know and titan had shot him... but how did I get hurt..? The last thing I remember is titan yelling out my name.. I gasp and then grimace at the pain in my abdomen. Titan yelled my name.... he yelled my REAL name. Fuck! How did he find out? "Alysandra? Alysandra?!" A female voice jolts me from my thoughts and I look up to see titan standing next to a young female nurse. Titan backs up a small bit and starts talking to a man I don't recognize. "How are you feeling hon? Anything hurting you real bad?" The nurse looked down at me with a gentle smile and I smile back at her meekly. "W-where am I-I?" My voice burns as i try to answer the woman's questions. "You're at edmonton private hospital honey," she pauses before she drawl out "that sweetheart over there brought you in, you were roughed up pretty bad. I'm gunna go let the doctor know that you're awake, and once he does a final check up on you we'll be able to send you home with your husband. " She smiles once more at me and walks away to find the doctor. "M-my husband?!?!"

Titan walks over to my bed after the doctor leaves. The doctor tells titan and I that I can go home and leaves to fetch my discharge paperwork. "Why did you say you're my husband?" I keep my eyes on my hands as I finally ask the question that had been burning a hole in my tongue. "We'll talk about this when we get home. I have quite a few questions of my own for you. " his voice doesn't hold much malice but his body language is like that of a snake, coiled tight and ready to strike at any moment. I drop my head further and follow titan out to his car. He buckles my seatbelt for me and then closes my door. He hops in the drivers side of the suv and starts it up, throwing it in reverse and heading on the highway. He heads towards the hills and hops onto a highway going north. "I-I live that way.. where are we going...?" I look up at titan with a flutter in my stomach. He's putting himself in grave danger if he brings me to his house. He can't find out what happens, he can't find out what I can do... anyone who does dies.. and I don't want anymore deaths on my conscience. I already shouldered the deaths of my mother, father, and sisters... I can't bear the weight of more. Titan is eerily calm as he watches the road. "T-titan?" I look up at him again to find that we've stopped moving. He puts his hand on a panel and the gate In front of the car begins to open. "Home."
