15 Becoming a Mangaka
So, after thinking all this time, Kenshin decided the perfect way to earn money that will bring him money and will not affect his training time. Kenshin decided to write manga, in short, he decided to become a mangaka.
Kenshin decided this as there are very few mangas in this world and most of them were bad as many people dream of becoming a hero and neglect other things and things such as the manga industry was badly affected by it. So Kenshin was then troubled with the fact to write his original one or to copy a manga that is not present in this world.
Then a few months ago he finally decided to copy 'One Piece' as he is just thinking it as a way to earn money and has not decided to seriously pursue it. Then in the few month's time he finished writing about 100 chapters and his drawing was way better than the original and he changed the story a bit here and there to make it better.
(And yes he knew drawing and painting as in the last life where he lived about 500 years he had learned many things other than just martial arts like medical knowledge, Painting, sculpting, ancient medicinal knowledge, knowledge about science and technology and many more. In his life span, he has read almost all the books available as it helps pass the time and increase his knowledge. And with the opening of all his meredians, his intelligence also increased by 50 times what it was before)
Today was Sunday and Kenshin went to XYZ publications which were similar to many manga publications back in his original world. Kenshin went up the reception to look for editors who would be free to look at his work.
"Hello there boy, what do you want", said the receptionist smilingly. The receptionist is a young female who looked around 25 years old with an above-average facial feature, blond hair, and blue eyes.
"I want to show my manga to the editors to see if they will be willing to publish it", said Kenshin calmly.
"You wrote a manga. Let me see", said the receptionist. To which Kenshin just showed her the 1st 10 chapters of 'One Piece' he has brought to show to the editors.
The receptionist just casually looked at it thinking it would be a mess but when he started reading it, he was shocked as to how amazing it was, she then carefully looked at the boy who was young but still handsome.
"This is very nice work. Did you write it? I mean children of your age tend to think of becoming a hero rather than becoming a mangaka", said the receptionist.
"No, I am quirkless", said Kenshin plainly.
Just as the receptionist was about to reply, she heard someone calling him.
"Good morning, Hinako chan", said a young female in his twenties who is very beautiful with silky black hair and blue eyes.
"Good morning, Sakura-chan. Ohh boy she is Kobayashi Sakura, an editor of our publication", said Hinako looking at Kenshin.
"Hinako chan, who is he", said Sakura looking at Kenshin.
"Ohhh, he is a young boy who wants to become a mangaka and I also read his manga, its amazing", said Hinako excitedly.
Sakura was surprised by Hinako's excitement, then she looked at Kenshin and said, "Okay boy, come with me to my office, I will see how amazing it is".
Kenshin then walked with Sakura. After walking for a few minutes they reached Sakura's office.
"Okay, show it to me", asked Sakura. To which Kenshin just showed the 10 chapters he has brought.
Sakura looked at it, then she became very very excited while reading it. She laughed at some points, at some point she was serious and at some point she was angry.
"Did you write this manga", asked Sakura while looking at Kenshin.
"Yes", said Kenshin with a calm face.
"DO you know how amazing it is for a middle school child to write this level of manga", said Sakura.
"No, I- " before he could say anything the excited Sakura spoke again, "What no, don't be shy, you deserve the credit".
"No, I mean I am not a middle school student and before you make any mistake, I am an elementary school student and I will go to middle school in a few months", said Kenshin.
Sakura was again shocked at this because the boy who looked like a middle school or a short height high school student was actually an elementary school student. Then again for an elementary school student to write this level of the manga is beyond amazing.
"Are you really an elementary school student", asked Sakura to confirm it. It is not Sakura's fault as Kenshin is 11 years old but he is 165 cm in height.
"Yes I am an elementary school student", said Kenshin.
"Okay now moving onto the manga, it is amazing and there aren't many things I can point out to make it better and our publication house will be happy to publish your manga from this month. And how many chapters have you written?", said Sakura.
"I have written about 100 chapters", said Kenshin.
"Okay I will ask about what format do you want to publish like on every 3-day format or weekly format or monthly format", said Sakura.
"Hmmmmm I have many chapters and I can write many more easily, so 3-day format is nice", said Kenshin.
"Okay, wait here I will ask about it with our Head and contact with you about the money and contract. SO leave your contact details and when we have decided, we will contact you", said Sakura.
"Okay thanks", saying this Kenshin wrote the contact details of the Orphanage.
After talking about a few other things, Kenshin went back to the orphanage. It looks like it took a lot of time but it only took 2 hours time to visit the publication and then come back.
After Kenshin returned, he went to Miss Yuuto's office.
"Ohh Ken-chan, what happened", asked Miss Yuuto.
"Aunt Yuuto I want to open a bank account and I need a guardian as I am not old enough", said Kenshin. This is one thing that happened in these 6 years, Miss Yuuto asked Kenshin to call her aunt as Kenshin's mother and she were good friend. Now, Kenshin knew why Aunt Yuuto is always nice even when everybody laughed at him or looked at him in scorn filled eyes.
"What do you need a bank account for Ken-chan", asked Aunt Yuuto.
Then Kenshin told her everything about becoming a mangaka. Hearing him Aunt Yuuto was amazed by Kenshin's talent.
After talking with Aunt Yuuto they went to the bank in the afternoon. It took them about an hour before everything was completed and Kenshin's bank account was open. After that, both of them went back to the orphanage and Kenshin waited for their reply to come and if the reply didn't come then he will visit other publications.
After 3 days the expected call came, and Kenshin visited them that day itself.
"Kenshin, come here. You see he is our head of production Daichi san and he is also very interested in your manga. Please show it to him", said Sakura.
Kenshin looked at the short middle-aged man standing next to Sakura. Then he slowly showed him his manga. Daichi who has agreed to publish it after Sakura's recommendation just saw the manga and he became very excited as it was very nice.
"Okay it's very nice, now I am going but Sakura clears the paperwork and help Mr. Kenshin in this", saying that Daichi went away.
"Okay, lets complete this paperwork and celebrate this day. Today's treat will be on me", said Sakura excitedly.
Kenshin who read the contract was very happy as he will get about 50000 yen per page and his manga has about 50 pages per chapter and by this calculation, he will get 2 million yen per month that means about 24 million per year which is 3 times an average man in this world's Japan earns.
After spending a few hours filling all the details and signing and everything, the contract was complete and Kenshin submitted them the 1st 10 chapters. He will submit other chapters in the time to come.
After that, he went with Sakura-chan to celebrate.
Time passed and it was 1 month before the start of UA entrance exam and about 2 months before Kenshin finishes his middle school and joins UA high school. A lot of things happened in these 3-4 years.
Kenshin started to earn money and he bought better equipment for doing strength training. This went on for a year but Kenshin then decided to live alone in an apartment as the orphanage is noisy with many useless people still disturbing him from time to time.
After discussing with aunt Yuuto, who suggested her few cheap houses, Kenshin bought a house on the outskirts of Tokyo but near to UA high School for 20 million yen. After that Kenshin began to train more seriously and now it is about 3 years since he started living in this apartment.
Kenshin is now 15 years old but his height is about 187 cm and a weight of about 130 kg. Kenshin is now at late/high stages of Advanced Grand Master stage with all 12 ordinary meredians opened but it will still take a few years to open extraordinary meredian and enter Legendary level.
About 3 years ago Kenshin finished reading about all the martial arts knowledge that Supreme Being has given him. And after 3 years of training, he incorporated their essence in his own martial arts-Kenshin style martial arts.
Soon this month also passed and it was the day of UA High School Entrance exam.
