Shuishui ate her fill and sat quietly as she watched Mu Ziyu pay the bill. It was so uncomfortable. She had brought it upon herself. Because of the pain, she had become impatient with many other things. Mu Ziyu, on the other hand, was nothing but gentle and patient towards her. She was a little touched.
Actually, Mu Ziyu found Shuishui's display of willfulness adorable. Shuishui was usually as calm as an *****. She was also extremely calm when it came to distressing matters. Shuishui was still a foodie. He had never seen her refuse to eat any food.
Mu Ziyu came back and pulled Shuishui up. "Let's go."
"Okay." Shuishui relied on Mu Ziyu's strength and leaned on him. When she stood up, she tried to walk faster.
After she got into the car, Shuishui became paralyzed again. Even sitting down and leaning back against the car seat was painful.
Mu Ziyu drove faster on the way back to Shuishui's apartment. He should not have brought her out to eat in the first place. It was his fault that Shuishui felt so uncomfortable. He was sorry that he did not think it through.
It was getting late when they returned to Shuishui's apartment. There weren't many people outside. Mu Ziyu got out of the car and carried Shuishui out of the car. "Don't move around a lot. Behave yourself so that you won't feel uncomfortable," he told her.
"Okay," Shuishui said as she buried her head in Mu Ziyu's chest.
Ziyu smelled so good. He was quite strong. He walked steadily with Shuishui in his arms.
They got into the elevator without meeting anyone. They returned to the apartment successfully.
Shuishui took the medicinal wine that Akong gave her. "This is the medicinal wine that she gave me. Teacher said that is more potent than ordinary medicinal wine but it smells much worse."
Mu Ziyu took the bottle and opened it. He sniffed the bottle and grimaced. It had a very pungent acidic smell. He didn't mind as long as it was effective and would be good for Shuishui.
Shuishui hopped into the room and grimaced in pain. "Um, I'll change into a shirt first. It will be easier to apply the medicine."
"Don't move so much. The pain will make you uncomfortable." Mu Ziyu watched as Shuishui hopped around in spite of the pain. He found her really endearing.
Shuishui changed into her pajamas and shorts, and these exposed her thighs and arms. Mu Ziyu's heart ached terribly when he saw her bruises. Shuishui smiled and said, "Akong had hit my arms several times. Also my legs, and a little bit of my back. But it's okay."
"What's okay? Sit down. I'll apply the medicine for you first." Mu Ziyu applied the medicine on Shuishui's bruises.
Shuishui did not cry out in pain. She simply winced and breathed deeply. She did not want to cry out in the middle of the night. It would disturb her neighbors. Shuishui was very considerate of those around her.
Because of the number of bruises, it took a long time for Mu Ziyu to finish applying the medicine.
Shuishui let out a sigh of relief. "You're done? I feel warm all over, and the pain isn't as intense anymore."
"It's good that it's effective. The bruises on your face haven't been treated yet, so I'll help you with it. I guess you'll be watched during class tomorrow." Mu Ziyu teased Shuishui. It was rare for him to tease her.
Shuishui sighed. "That's right. Many people will ask me what's wrong with my face." Shuishui felt that it would be too troublesome to answer such a question. She was sure Mu Zilin would coax her to tell him what happened. Thinking about it gave her a headache. "I'll tell them that I fell—that's all. They can think whatever they want."
"That's all we can do. Be more careful next time. This isn't a joke." Mu Ziyu couldn't say anything directly even though he had already heard from Mu Zilin about Shuishui's self-defense classes. Actually, many girls had the ability to protect themselves. It was good for their own safety. He found comfort in the fact that Shuishui had a certain level of protection.
Shuishui nodded foolishly and said, "But there will be another match next week. I must give her a good punch next week. Otherwise, I won't be satisfied."
"Again?" Mu Ziyu was a little displeased.
Shuishui nodded and said, "Yes. She asked me if I wanted to have another match, so I agreed. It will be the last time. It won't be like this in the future."
Mu Ziyu made his own request. "You still have to cherish your own body. This is your own body. Since you want to go again, I will accompany you."
"Ah? Accompany me?" Shuishui was a little surprised.
Mu Ziyu promised and assured Shuishui. "Yes, I won't disturb you, and I won't cause any trouble. I just want to accompany you."
Shuishui was conflicted. This was not easy to handle. "I have to consult with my teacher for his opinion on this. I can't agree to it directly."
"It's fine. You can just ask your teacher tomorrow. Don't attend the morning gymnastics. Ask for a leave of absence from your teacher. I'll bring you dinner tonight. Take a break first. You need to take care of your body," Mu Ziyu said as he touched Shuishui's head. He felt that she had to slow down. She did not care about her body so much that she did not feel sorry for it. His heart ached to death, and he felt very uncomfortable.
He would rather see her bruises appear on his body than on Shuishui's. He felt uncomfortable that she could not even eat.
Mu Ziyu gently rubbed Shuishui's chin. Shuishui leaned forward and rested her head on Mu Ziyu's thigh.
"My chin hurts the most." Shuishui felt like she was about to cry. Akong had really hit her hard. She also wanted to leave a mark on her face. Otherwise, the pain would be in vain.
"Bear with it. You have to rub it continuously before the blood clots will disperse." Mu Ziyu said gently. Shuishui enjoyed listening to Ziyu's voice.
"Your singing will definitely be good," Shuishui said as she looked at Mu Ziyu's face. From such a close distance, she could see that his eyelashes were long and perky. She could not help but reach out to touch his eyelashes.
Mu Ziyu blinked. "Behave. Wait for me to finish this medicine before you play."
Shuishui giggled and said, "I just think that your eyelashes are very long." Shuishui closed her eyes and endured the pain in her chin. Ziyu applied medicine on her chin and forehead. The bruises on her forehead were less painful. She felt that she could endure it.
By the time Mu Ziyu finished, Shuishui had already fallen asleep.
Mu Ziyu smiled and watched as she slept soundly. He carried Shuishui to the room and covered her with a blanket. Her hair fell on her face, and he reached out to brush it aside.
"You have to take care of yourself in the future, understand? If you do this, I will keep an eye on you! I won't give you the chance to hurt yourself anymore," he whispered to her. His voice was very gentle and soft. He then left the room, turned off the lights, and closed the door as Shuishui slept soundly.
He went into the living room and covered the bottle of medicinal wine. He tidied up around him. Before he walked out of the apartment, he carried the bag of garbage downstairs and threw it away before he drove off.
Shuishui slept soundly the whole night. When her phone alarm sounded off, she felt the pain as she reached out to turn it off. Fortunately, her alarm was set to ring from Monday to Friday at six thirty because she did not want to oversleep. It would not be good to be late.
She slowly stood up, brushed her teeth, and washed her face. She changed into her school uniform, pants, and jacket. She poured herself a glass of water, drank it, and left home. She did not even plan to eat breakfast.
She had applied medicine on the bruises and felt much better than the previous day. However, she still limped and could not walk too fast.
She walked slower than usual, but she had not eaten breakfast and arrived at school at seven twenty. Many people looked at Shuishui's face when she arrived. She had two bruises on her face that were too hard to miss.
When she arrived at the classroom, the students gathered around Shuishui.
"Shuishui, what happened to your face?"
"It's so serious. What did you do?''
Shuishui could not respond quickly.
"Thank you for your concern. I'm fine. I just fell and hit the stairs. I've already put medicine on my bruises. It should be gone by today," Shuishui said and smiled faintly. Her classmates were obviously very concerned, so she felt compelled to give a proper explanation.
"Oh my god, Shuishui," Mu Qing exclaimed as she looked at Shuishui. Her heart ached for Shuishui. She held Shuishui's face, looking up and down.
Shuishui moved Mu Qing's hand away. "It's okay. I came to attend class, didn't I? It means that I'm fine. All right. I'm going to study. Don't worry too much."
At seven thirty, Mu Zilin arrived. He walked over leisurely and saw that Shuishui looked different. As he looked closer, he yelled in surprise. "Shuishui, who hit you? Tell me! I'm going to beat him to death."
Shuishui covered her face with her hands. 'Oh my god,' she thought. Zilin had embarrassed her too many times. Although she was literally beaten, she couldn't say it out loud. "Calm down first. No one hit me. I fell," she said to Zilin.
"You fell on your own? Are you kidding? How did you fall? You couldn't have fallen on your face like that," Zilin said. Shuishui was amused because what Zilin said was very similar to what Ziyu also said. They were indeed brothers.
She pulled Mu Zilin and said, "Sit down first. Why are you shouting? Believe it or not, I simply fell."
She had to be a little fierce to Mu Zilin in order to calm him down.
Mu Zilin unhappily took out something and placed it on Shuishui's table. "To think that I brought you breakfast . . . and you're very mean to me."
Shuishui was surprised.
She looked at the breakfast he brought and said, "Thank you. I'm not being mean. I'm just asking you to let it go. Don't you know what kind of person I am? I was really unlucky and fell, face down. I fell at an unfortunate angle and hit a bad corner. Fortunately, I wasn't wounded."
"I thought someone bullied you and hit you." Mu Zilin smiled foolishly and reached out to pat Shuishui's arm.
Shuishui felt a sharp pain as Zilin touched her arm. She wanted to hit Mu Zilin, but she held it in. "All right. I'm ready for the morning reading," she said to the others.
Mu Zilin started to mutter behind Shuishui. "That's right. Who would dare to hit you? With your personality, you will definitely take revenge. How can you sit here so calmly?"
Shuishui listened as he muttered. She thought that Mu Zilin had the potential to become a Tang Sanzang. He liked to mutter so much, and he muttered until the end of the morning class.
When she was ready to do morning exercises, Shuishui asked her teacher for permission to be excluded. When the teacher-in-charge saw Shuishui's face, she was also shocked. "Did you really fall?"
"It's true. Teacher, I'm not feeling well. For this morning exercise, may I be excluded?"
The teacher-in-charge excused Shuishui so she could rest.
Shuishui did not go downstairs with the brigade. Instead, she stayed behind in the classroom.
Mu Zilin looked at Shuishui. "What's wrong with your body?"
Shuishui continued to make up stories. "I'm just a little uncomfortable."
"Is that so? Then you should rest well and eat the breakfast I brought for you. It's still warm," Mu Zilin said then left.
Shuishui was the only one left in the classroom. Shuishui lay down on the ground. Her entire body ached, even the parts that have not been hit.
She craned her neck, took out a pen and paper, and started to play the drum.
Teacher Li had assessed her skills, and he even praised her. She knew she had to improve her speed. She needed to learn how to move fast. Teacher Li had also told her about Akong's weakness. She was told that Akong's right hand was slower than her left hand. Akong would often moved her left leg forward to stabilize her body. Shuishui could start from these two aspects and then look for opportunities to seek a breakthrough.
Shuishui thought of her own strengths and how to maximize her potential. She had to plan and set up a trap for Akong in their next match. Anyway, she only had one goal: to punch her!
When the students finished their morning exercises and returned to the classroom, Shuishui also put away her pen and paper.
Mu Zilin and a group of boys entered the classroom, and he went straight to Shuishui. "Let me tell you something funny. During the morning exercises, that Xu Die's dress was stained with red. She didn't realize it earlier and she disappeared. Now she's hiding in the bathroom."
"What's so funny? That shouldn't be laughed at. All girls experience that. Sometimes, it's unpredictable." Shuishui reached out and pinched Mu Zilin's face. "One day, I might experience that too. Are you going to die of laughter in the bathroom as well?"
Mu Zilin began to boast. "No. How can I? If something like that happens to you, I'll immediately take off my clothes, wrap it around your dress, and cover it for you. I'm a gentleman. Do you think that men like me don't exist anymore?"
Shuishui directly threw a fist at his chest muscles. "Don't be a pervert and don't brag. With your loud voice, I'd be thankful if you don't talk about it to other people."
Mu Zilin was displeased that Shuishui thought of him that way. "F*ck. Am I that bad?"
Shuishui smiled and said, "Who was shouting at the top of his voice just now? I can't wait for everyone to think that I was beaten up."
Mu Zilin sounded apologetic. "This . . . this . . . that's true. I was just a little excited." He seemed to have realized that his loud voice did not sit well with Shuishui. Fortunately, Shuishui had told him how she felt about it.
Shuishui was quite famous in school and was known as a beautiful scholar. After a day, everyone looked at Shuishui differently.
The teacher even asked Shuishui in private about her bruises. The teacher was afraid that Shuishui was being bullied. He asked Shuishui who hit her and told her that there was no need to be afraid, that he would help her settle her problem. Shuishui was embarrassed by this. Her head ached over the thought that she had attracted so much attention just because of it.
She had not expected that things would turn out that way. Finally, the day had ended smoothly. Shuishui thought that it was really depressing to be in school that way.
Mu Zilin behaved strangely that day. He sent Shuishui to her apartment before he went home. Did he suspect that Shuishui had been beaten by her mother? It was possible. Zilin thought that perhaps Shuishui could not say it out loud because of her pride. As a good friend, Zilin believed that he had to show Shuishui that he was concerned and would have to walk her home so she would feel at ease.
After she bid Zilin goodbye, Shuishui lay on the sofa, not wanting to move at all.
Everything would be fine.
Just as she was feeling sleepy, Mu Ziyu arrived.
After she opened the door, she returned to the sofa and lay down again.
Mu Ziyu got busy. He packed some food, moved it from the lunch box to the plate, and heated it up.
He walked out and looked at Shuishui's expression. He sat down beside her and asked, "Are you still feeling unwell?"
"Yes, yes. Maybe it's too intense. The spare key to my house is in the drawer. You can open the door yourself next time. I won't need to open it for you." Shuishui felt very lazy.
"Give it to me? Aren't you afraid that I'm a bad man?" Mu Ziyu felt that Shuishui's actions were not good. He felt she was being quite careless.
"You're different, aren't you?" Shuishui replied with a smile. It made Mu Ziyu feel like he was trusted.
It would be more convenient for Ziyu to have a spare key as well.
It might be on the shelves in the next few days. I hope the readers can continue to support me.
