Day Off Part 1

"Do you… want to go out with me?"

As soon as I heard that, I just froze. I couldn't even reply from her question. She even spoke to me in Thai. Meaning she must be hiding this from people.

Is she serious?!

She must have realized what she said because she tried to cover it up even though she was flustered. "Ahh! I-it's not what you think! I-it's not a d-date! I-it's just a hang-out! That's right! HAHAHA!"

Great save…

"Sure… I'd like that. Where do you want to go?" I replied in a cheerful tone.

"Lotte World…" She said in a low volume that was enough for me to hear it.

Lotte World? Isn't that where couples go on a date?

"Sure. I'll meet you there at 10AM tomorrow? Will that be great?" I asked.

"S-sure! Absolutely!" She replied.

"But I have to wear a mask and a cap. You know how it is. Will that be alright with you, Lisa?" I tried to confirm.

It's safer for idols to go around in this world. But there are still saesang fans who'd attack you. Especially if they found out that I'm with someone who isn't a celebrity.

"Oh… right. I understand." She reply in a sad tone.

"I'm sorry, Lisa. Lotte World just has so many people in it. I can't risk getting you hurt because of me." I told her.

I heard a gasp from the other line. "Oh! It's okay! Really! I'm glad that you're thinking about my well-being."

I smiled. "Of course! What are friends for?"

"Friends… huh?..." She muttered under her breath.

"Hmm? What was that? I couldn't quite hear you?" I asked.

"Nothing! So I'll see you tomorrow at the entrance at 10AM?" She tried to change the topic.

I just sighed. "Alright. Then afterwards, maybe we can go somewhere else. Like a café or a restaurant."

She then ecstatically replied a loud yes. We both ended the call there and I continued sleeping until I got to the dorm.

______________

"Over here, Oppa!" Lisa yelled.

I jogged towards where she was. "Sorry. Did you wait long?"

"Nope. I just got here too." She replied.

She was obviously lying. Her skin says otherwise. It's really cold right now and she looked like she's been out for a long time.

"Let's go in first." I told her before we started lining up for our tickets.

When we got there I tried paying for her but she insisted on paying for us. Trainees don't have any money. They rely on the allowance that their parents give. That's why I really pressed on in trying to pay for the both of us. In the end, she gave in.

"You didn't really have to, you know?" She pouted.

"Just don't mind it. I'm the guy so I have to pay for it." I smiled at her which made her blush.

The girls behind us must have heard our conversation. Because they started giggling when they heard me say that.

"Wasn't that manly of him?" One of the girls behind me said.

"I know! Look at his eyes. I bet he's really handsome under that mask." Another one said.

Hearing this made me blush. "L-let's just go to a café inside the park first. We need to warm you up."

She looked at me with a confused face. "But-"

"Come on. I know you've waited long enough for me to get here. It's the least I could do for you." I interjected.

I don't know if it was the cold but she suddenly grew red and just silently nodded at me.

We then headed towards a café and got our drinks. Iced Americano for me with no sugar and lots of cream while she just wanted hot chocolate.

We sat down and started catching up. People were starting to stare at us because we looked like a couple on a date.

It was really hard for me to drink since I was wearing a facemask. She noticed it and decided to sit beside me to cover my face.

"Ahh! What a brave girl! Go for it!" We heard a lady from another table say that which made our conversation a little bit awkward.

Guys! We're just friends!

It's not a date! It's a HANG-OUT between two friends of the opposite sex!

That's it!

I sighed. "So… what do you want to ride today?"

"Everything!" She replied happily.

"Everything, huh? Then do you also want to go through the horror house?" I asked.

She shuddered as soon as I asked that question. "Uhh… hehe…"

"Not a fan of the scary stuff, huh?" I asked which she just shyly nodded in response.

I just chuckled at her.

She then spoke, "But I want to try it… with you… if that's okay?"

"Mmhm! Sure. I'll protect you." I told her which made her choke on her drink and spill some on the table and on her pants.

"Are you okay?" I immediately handed her the tissues and even got a piece to wipe off the stain on her face.

She froze the moment I did it. I went to the counter to ask for an ice bag to place it on her lap to sooth the pain that she was feeling.

"It's not that hot anymore but we can't be too careful. You have to place that for a couple of minutes to remove the burning sensation. We'll leave afterwards." I told her as I handed her the ice bag.

She just silently nodded in response.

What's with her? She suddenly doesn't want to talk. She must have felt embarrassed when she spilled her drink.

"I'll be right back." I told her before I went to the store beside it.

It was H&M. If I remember it correctly, her waist size is 24.

I'm not a creep, okay?

How do I know?

Well…

We used to shop together in the previous world. She specifically told me her waist size because she wanted me to get her some cool pants when I went to the States for a gig.

I went around and searched for a pair of pants in the nearby store. I didn't know that I was already taking too long.

"What are you doing oppa?" someone from behind me asked.

"Oh Lisa… have I been gone for too long? I was looking for a pair of pants that suited you so you could get a changed." I answered.

She sighed. "No need oppa. I'll just cover it with my sweater. Anyway, I still have my Jacket on to warm me up anyway."

I chuckled. "We can't have that. You might get sick. Look. Why don't I buy you some clothes? Take a pick and I'll pay for it."

She frantically waved her hands to stop me. "No oppa! You already paid for the tickets. You even bought us some drinks. Now you want to buy me clothes?"

I just ruffled her hair. What's with her bangs? Is it glued in place?

"You know what? Don't worry about it. Just pick anything you want. There are also shoes beside this store. Why don't we buy matching ones as a sign of our friendship?" I asked her.

She just smiled and nodded at the idea. For almost 2 hours, we were checking out clothes and shoes. We bought so much that we bought more than we could carry. So I rented lockers where we could leave our stuff behind before we went for the rides.

We tried out so many rides. She didn't know that I bought the VIP tickets so that we wouldn't have to wait for the line.

We tried everything. When I say everything, I mean… EVERYTHING.

After debating what rides we'll get on first and what to ride next, we both decided to end it with Atlantis. Lotte World's version of Splash Mountain from Disneyland. Because we would end up getting wet.

Luckily, since we already bought clothes, after riding Atlantis, we changed to our new clothes and went to their version of a horror house which is called "Tomb of Horror".

"Are you okay?" I asked her.

She was shaking and we're not even there yet. "Yeah… I'm good."

"Are you cold?" I asked again.

She shook her head. "Nope."

I then grabbed her hand and locked it with my right arm. "Hold on tight so you won't get lost. I'll protect you when we get inside. You can hide or cry on to me. Don't worry about it."

She turned away after I said that before she nodded slightly.

Her responses are really cute.

Then… it begun.

At first, it wasn't THAT scary but as we progressed, it became more frightening. I didn't scream though because I was too busy covering for Lisa and keeping her close. The entire time she was closing her eyes while clinging tightly on to my arm.

"We're out now…" I told her but she wouldn't budge.

"Wait! Don't look at me yet!" She stopped me from moving.

What's wrong with her?

"Are you okay?" I asked.

She just slowly nodded as but she's still sticking her face on my arm. "I probably look ugly right now from all the crying. So don't look at me."

That's it? It won't matter to me.

I suddenly moved away revealing her to me.

"You're mean!" She yelled before she covered her face.

I just chuckled before I patted her head. "You know you're beautiful and cute no matter what you do, right? So don't worry."

I turned my back and started walking away.

"W-wait for me!" She then ran after me while wiping all the tears on her face.

____________

"WOW! It's really beautiful up here!" Lisa said.

We were alone in one of the cabins of the Ferris wheel. She sat across me while she was looking out the window like a little kid.

I chuckled at the sight and shook my head. She's really cute.

"Thanks… for agreeing to go with me." She said in a low volume which was really hard to hear.

"Hmm? Oh no problem. I really enjoyed today as well. Let's do this again next time." I smiled at her.

She then looked to the window and said, "Next time…huh?"

We both became silent after that and just enjoyed the amazing view of Lotte World in that tiny cabin space from the Ferris wheel.

"So… oppa… do you have someone you like?" She decided to break the silence.

"Hmm? Me? Hmm… I guess you could say that." I replied.

She then turned towards me in a serious face. "Is it someone I know?"

I chuckled at her reaction. "Hmm? You don't know her. But you'll know her soon enough."

"So it's someone else…" she whispered under her breath.

I didn't get to hear it so I just continued staring out the window, watching the view.

"Why haven't you… asked her out yet?" She asked.

That's actually a good question. Why haven't I? Maybe because I'm too afraid that I might be rejected. Or maybe I'm not her type. I don't know. Maybe deep down I'm just… scared…

"Hmm… why aren't I asking her out? Maybe because now's not the time." I replied.

She then went to grab my hand. "You're scared, aren't you?"

I didn't respond and just smiled at her. This girl is so perceptive. I really thought that she'd be more like the Lisa from the previous world who was actually practically clueless most of the time.

"It's okay. I know whoever she is, she'd be lucky to have you." She assured me.

Looking at me with concerned eyes, she was practically beautiful. The lights from the outside were even helping her beauty shine more. Her eyes became brighter, and her small face made her stand out.

She slowly leaned towards me.

I didn't back off and just stayed there frozen.

She slowly closed her eyes and pouted her lips getting ready for a kiss.

I stayed still all frozen not knowing what to do. I got so flustered that I couldn't even move.

Our lips were just centimeters apart now.

"Thank you for riding our Ferris wheel!" The man handling the Ferris wheel opened the door which snapped us back to reality.

I immediately put on my face mask and bonnet to hide my identity. "W-we should probably go."

She just nodded and we both awkwardly went for the door which made us bump each other.

"Y-you go first." I told her.

She just happily obliged and went out first.

I looked at her back and tried to snap myself back to reality.

"I need to pull myself together." I said before jogging towards her.

_____________

The walk was getting more awkward as we slowly head out to the parking lot of the theme park. I went here with my car so I decided to take her home.

It was already past 6PM. She had a schedule with her fellow trainees at 7PM so I had to drive her to a restaurant where her friends were at.

To make it less awkward, we promised not to talk about what happened earlier and decided to stay as close friends. We both promised to be there for each other to comfort one another especially now that she was about to debut.

The rest of the trip became more comfortable. When I dropped her off, she introduced me to her friends. It was like a mini reunion for us. Jennie, Jisoo and Rosé were there to greet me. They keep telling me that they were fans of mine.

Of course it felt weird at first, especially when they asked me to sign them an autograph. It was supposed to be the other way around when we were in the other world.

"So what does Zhang-oppa really look like?" Rosé asked.

"He's what you see on TV. He's mysterious and sometimes you might feel like he's cold but he's actually kind and really wise." I replied.

"How about Jiwoo-oppa? Is he really good at sports?" Jennie asked.

"Well… yeah he is." I just replied plainly.

They all had a round of questions about my members and some personal questions for me too. We then had a round of questions about what to expect once they become idols. It was really weird because, I have only been here for almost a year. They were practically iconic in the previous world. I answered them sincerely anyway.

We all said our goodbyes after we had dinner. I didn't stay long because people were starting to notice me and were coming inside the restaurant which was disturbing the other the customers.

I went for a drive before I stopped at a nearby plaza where the shopping district was located. I wanted to see what was for sale and wanted to buy presents for the members since Christmas is coming up and our schedules would be packed. We'd probably have 2 more days of day off in the future.

When I was about to enter one of the shopping boutiques there, I heard loud music playing nearby and it was playing random K-pop music. All of them were choruses of popular songs so I went to check it out.

Inside the crowd were people dancing to the chorus of these songs. After dancing the chorus, a countdown to the next song would play. The dancers would then gather to dance the song. I finally understand what was happening.

It was a random play dance challenge!

Suddenly I saw a familiar face dancing amongst the people there. I smiled when I saw her. She must have seen me but she probably doesn't recognize me because I was wearing a mask and my bonnet.

After that song played, she went back to her place. I went to where she was and stood beside her.

"You're a pretty good dancer." I told her.

She giggled and said, "You can't just hit on anybody while we're doing this challenge. You need to be beat me in dancing first, ajhussi."

Ajhussi?! Is she messing with me right now?!

Then "Growl" came next.

"Alright then. You better mark your words." I said that as I took off my disguise and went to the front most part of the circle.

As soon as I started dancing with everyone else, the crowd recognized me and they began cheering and screaming out.

The crowd was getting wilder and noisier. I turn to look at Yuna who was staring at me in shock.

As soon as the song finished, the crowd wanted to run towards me to ask for an autograph. There were so many that I panicked. I ran towards where Yuna was standing and grabbed her hand to run away.

My real fans tried to cover for me by blocking the people who wanted to run after me. Yuna and I were able to escape easily. I put my disguised back on before we continued to walk away from the plaza to a nearby park.

"So… I told you that you'd make it big." Yuna decided to break the silence.

I just nodded. "You're one great fortuneteller."

She chuckled at that. "I knew you'd make it big, but I didn't know it'd be THAT big."

We both chuckled at her comment.

"Still think I'm hitting on you?" I teased.

She chuckled and smiled wryly at me.

We slowly walked around the park while catching up. She told me that she has already been training under JYP for the past two months now. At first, her family didn't approve but when her sister joined in auditioning for the agency and passed, her parents didn't decide against it.

She told me that she went to look for me on her first day of training, but she didn't get to see me at all. I explained to her that the building they were training in usually were for Veteran idols or for new trainees. This was for them to inspire each other.

Veterans would show or sometimes teach the trainees about what it takes to be an idol, while the new breed of trainees would remind the veterans why they started out in the first place.

I told her how I've been and what I've been up to. She said that even though we've been promoting for a year, we didn't have our fan signing event yet.

That's actually true…

We were actually very busy with promoting that we forgot to tend to our fans. She told me that we could do it next year since she already knew that we were preparing for the year end events.

Both of us got tired so we decided to sit down on one of the park's benches. We continued talking until it started snowing.

She was obviously freezing since she's just wearing one layer of clothing only. When I saw her shaking, I immediately stood up and gave my jacket to her.

She then turned to me and said, "If you continue doing this things, I might start to think differently about you."

The moment she said that, I grew speechless. She then giggled and said, "Don't worry. Though I like you. I know you have your eyes on someone else. So I'll just stay here where I can support you."

She stood up before she grabbed my hand and forced me to stand up.

"Shall we head back now? We both have schedules tomorrow, right?" She said as she continued to hold my hand.

I checked my wrist watch and saw that it was already past 9PM so I agreed with her. I tried pulling my hand away but she tightened her grip.

"Can we walk like this? Just until we get back." She asked.

I smiled and nodded in response.

We took our time in getting back while staying quiet. We both enjoyed our time together even though we weren't really talking.

We finally arrived beside my car and she finally let go of my hand. I decided to give her a ride back to her dorm. It would be rude to leave her behind.

She happily agreed to it.

While I was driving, I had a call from our Director from the drama Dream High saying that we aired our first two episodes today. And according to the ratings and comments, it's actually a hit.

We both congratulated each other before I hung up.

Yuna also heard about the conversation and she also congratulated me. The trip was very short but fun. We finally arrived outside her dorm. We both got out of the vehicle.

"Well, we're here. It was great seeing you again, oppa." She said.

Two people calling me oppa today! I don't think I can take it!

"Same here, Yuna." I replied.

"Oh! Your jacket!" She then tried to remove it.

I stopped her and said, "It's fine. You can have it."

She giggled and replied. "Such a gentleman."

I played along and bowed at her like a gentleman would.

"'til next time?" I asked.

She didn't reply but instead, what she did next stunned me.

She planted a quick kiss on my cheek before running of towards her dorm room door giggling.

She then turned around and said, "Next time then."

Before she finally went in leaving me there frozen and stunned.
