"How could you forget me again? How cruel!" That's a conversation Yuenelia always had with her childhood friend Zordyz on a daily basis. They are second-year students studying Magic Cure in Medicine in Hertbane High. He has always pretended to have amnesia just to mess with her. Getting her all panicky was a joy to watch. She would get angry at him but the anger only lasts for a day at most. The next morning, everything will return to the way it was. "I'll forget about you if you do that again!" said Yuenelia out of frustration. "Nah, you won't. You can never forget me!" Zordyz smirked. But...one evening, the unthinkable happened. An accident caused her to fall into a coma. Not even the best doctor was able to cure her. 5 days later, without any warning, her heart suddenly stopped beating. Zordyz's world crumbled altogether. In his grieve, he asked her lifeless body. "Why did you leave without saying goodbye? Did you forget me?" The next day, her body mysteriously disappeared from the morgue. Find out what happens next! *The story builds up slowly to set everything in place before the inevitable happened*
The fresh morning breeze blew through her waist-long dusty blue hair as she walked through the park that leads to her school. Her lilac colour eyes shone brightly in the morning sun, giving off a sense of warmth to whoever's looking at her.
She turned around to look at the youth behind her.
"Can you walk any faster, Zor? We will be late for class if you keep up with this pace!" she nagged at him.
"Oh, come on! We are still super early. You woke me up with your incessant nagging across the street this morning. I can barely sleep through that. Mum just dragged me off the bed to follow you to school." Zordyz mumbled, scratching his messy bed hair.
His mother has always reminded him to look after Yuenelia. She worries about her safety more than her own son's.
"Yue's a cute vulnerable girl! You have to protect her from those hooligans who always hang out in our neighbourhood. Who knows what those thugs will do to her if they ever find her alone." his mother said to him on a daily basis.
"But mum, don't you think it's too early for hooligans to come out in the morning?" he tried to reason with his mother.
"Whatever! You are going anyway!" and just like that, he was thrown out of the house along with his school bag.
'Yue knows how to protect herself very well. She's not as weak as you think.' Zordyz thought.
"Hey, what's on your mind? Don't space out while you're walking or you'll walk into a bush."
Yuenelia's voice snapped him out of his thoughts.
The moment his eyes made contact with hers, his face became slightly flushed. He immediately averted his eyes from hers. Her eyes are indeed very pretty. Her long curvy eyelashes accentuated her eyes even more. You can really drown yourself in them if you are not careful enough.
In addition to that, her delicate small face and fair skin make her look younger than people of her age. They are already in their second year of senior high school but she still looks like a junior high school student. Her appearance hasn't changed much since their childhood days. Or at least that's what he thought.
It doesn't help that Yuenelia is petite in size. Standing at only 156cm, it's a stark contrast to Zordyz who is 185cm tall. She looked like his younger sister when they are together.
However, personality-wise; Yuenelia would be the naggy elder sister while Zordyz is the spoiled little brother.
Zordyz is everything of an opposite of Yuenelia in terms of appearance and temperament.
He sports a head of messy hair in the colour of burgundy. His hair is always poking out in every direction in the morning as he never bothered to comb it. It's usually up to Yuenelia to tidy up that hair to look presentable in school.
If Yuenelia's eyes gave people a sense of warmth, Zordyz's electric blue eyes sent chills down people's spines.
His hair and eye colour were such an odd combination that he was given the nickname 'Ice Volcano'. He didn't know whether to laugh or cry at such a nickname.
Yuenelia is considered one of the school's idols so wherever she goes, she attracts a lot of attention. Yuenelia herself despises this fact. She never wanted any of it because it's troublesome and there was no privacy.
In this aspect, Zordyz is the same as her. He is popular among the girls for his wild looks but finds it annoying. He was approached and confessed by different girls every few days and it got pretty tiring, rejecting them and making them cry. And for that, he was envied by the boys in school which annoyed him even further.
The guys were also jealous of him as he gets Yuenelia's full attention. Quite a few of them confronted him about him hogging Yuenelia all to himself but he would just punch the hell out of those who bothered him or Yuenelia too much.
For those around them, they were such an odd pair of friends. A wild and tall guy walking to school together with a delicate and petite girl every day.
People won't label them as a couple since their interactions were more on a platonic level. They were basically like siblings as they grew up together. Add to the fact that they have been in the same class every year, their group of friends have gotten used to their funny bickering too.
"Zor, your hair."
Yuenelia didn't wait for his response. She pulled down his head to her level to comb it.
"Ouch, wait until we get near a bench before you start pulling on my hair, will you? My back hurts from bending down like this all the time." Zordyz grumbled, standing straight up again.
"Then comb it yourself before you get out of the house!" she tugged at his crooked tie and dragged him along to find a bench to sit on.
"Look at you being all messy and grumpy! At this rate, you'll never be able to find a girlfriend." Yuenelia nagged as she combed his hair.
"Meh, who needs a girlfriend when I can have a mother." Zordyz joked, enjoying the morning grooming like a cat.
