Chp 3

DAVID'S POV

"No no that is not supposed to be there.How can you guys be so fucking reckless.I want things sorted in 30 minutes."I hung up extremely frustrated.Why can't people just do what they are told.I sighed visibly and rested back on the chair.

Today was going to be a long day,I could feel it.Today work was hectic and home was going to be not peaceful as well.I don't really judge people that easily but that girl infuriated me and I was not looking forward to meet her.

The rest of the day passed by.I actually didn't realise when it was evening,time for me to go home. "Do we have anything lined up,something we can prepone and keep today?"I asked my manager.

"No sir,there is nothing that can be kept today.Mr.Carter ordered me to cancel everything."He looked apologetically at me while I swore under my breath.Thanks dad.

I left home in my car.Once I entered my mum immediately came. "Oh thank god you came.Go freshen up they will be here any time."

"Mom it is only 7 they cannot be here"Before I could complete,the helper informed mom that the guests were here.She looked at me and raised her eyebrow.I raised my hands in surrender and left to change.

I took a lot of time to freshen up.I showered taking my own sweet time.I changed,answered a few emails.It was 8,I decided to go down.I climbed down the stairs and everyone's eyes were on me.My mom narrowed her eyes at me while my dad threw a glare my way.I chuckled in my head knowing fully well that a lecture was going to follow.

I sat besides my mom not meeting her eyes.Everyone continued talking while I kept quiet only answering when asked.After about half an hour the dinner was ready.We entered our dining area and sat on our usual seats.

Trust me when I say this the amount of food laid down on the table was something that I had never seen in a long time.My mother had really taken it seriously.There was pasta red and white,spaghetti,casserole,baked potato and some dishes I had never seen in my life.

"Mom,we are only 6 of us.This is a lottt of food."I exclaimed.

"Oh hush,this isn't a lot."She shushed me and I chuckled.

The dinner was great.We had our dinner and then sat in the living room for a while.As soon as we sat my dad said. "Why don't you kids go out and talk.You guys must be getting bored listening to us talk."I looked at him as if he had just grown a pair of horns on his head.I looked at the girl already forgetting her name and she looked just as surprised.

"Go kids."Her father urged and me and her got up awkwardly.

"After you."I said and she looked at me for a second and then nodded.

I followed her in the back garden.I sat in front of her in the sitting area.The garden was filled with a variety of flowers.All credit goes to mum.She loved gardening and this was her sole doing without anyone's help.

"The garden is beautiful."She complimented and I almost didn't hear her because her voice was so soft.

"The entire credit goes to mum."I said.

"We started off on such a bad note."She said and I looked at her.she had worn an off shoulder black dress.It was well fitted on the top and had a flare on the bottom half which fell till her knees.She had paired it with black heels and a pair of earrings her hair in I think her natural curls. "My name is Jessica Parker."She forwarded her hand for a handshake breaking my gaze.

"My name is David Carter."I shook her hand introducing myself.

"I am sorry for yesterday.I wasn't really excited for the party and then that happened."She said apologetically biting her lip and I smiled.

"Thats okay."I assured her. "It happens.I am sorry as well."

"Actually your anger was justified I pretty much blamed you for everything ."She said and I laughed and she joined in.

"Jess we need to leave."Her dad called from the back door.

"Coming."She stood up adjusting her dress. "Bye I guess."She smiled.

"Bye."I said.She moved ahead and I walked beside her.We were both walking in silence not knowing what to say.Suddenly her left foot dashed into the curb and she tripped.I quickly caught her before she could touch the ground.

"Thanks."She said tucking her hair behind her ear and I nodded.I stood there like a dumb person looking at her.Not having a single clue as to what I wanted to say or what was it exactly that I was looking at.She cleared her throat grabbing my attention.

"Lets go."I said and we both left with her leading the way.More like she walking really fast and me walking slowly to avoid any awkward situation.

"Took you guys long enough to get here."My dad said looking at me.I avoided his eyes as much as I could but my eyes met hers.Our eyes met for a brief second before she averted them.

"We'll take your leave.I think we should do this another time.It was really fun.My place though."Mr.Parker said and dad nodded.

They left after our final byes.I rushed upstairs after wishing mom and dad a goodnight.I quickly changed and got undercovers.

Todays dinner was not that horrible,actually not bad at all.It was nice,I guess.We had a good conversation.I mean we didn't fight so that can be termed as good.She seemed pretty nice not like the girls I usually encounter.She seemed...different.
