11 My Father My Teacher

"Today I have to study seriously!" I told myself, today I was very excited because I managed to learn what my father had taught us. And today is a day of repetition to recall the lessons that have been given.

"Mom, I'm leaving first."

"Breakfast first, son!"

"No, Mom, I'll be late!"

"Your father must leave early because he has to prepare materials, so he hasn't had time to eat breakfast either." My mother called me then she went to the kitchen, I was told to wait at the front door.

"Here, I bring lunch for you and your father."

"Thank you, Mom."

"Be careful on the way ..." My mother waved her hand and threw a warm smile at me.

"Yes, Mom ..."

The atmosphere was already crowded in the study cubicle, a place that was built right in the middle of the grassy plain in front of our residence, which we usually call the setting.

"Chatter .. chatter .." The conversation here and there added to the warm atmosphere, the sky that was once black because the dust haze had vanished, the cool breeze polishing the soul brought coolness to every human being he passed, the sound of birds flying, well even though there was something strange that some birds appear in the distance but it has become commonplace for us, and maybe for all humanity.

"Everyone gather!" Wawan said in a loud tone. Uncle Wawan was one of my father's friends who survived the incident at that time. He was a driver and also a member of the village security officer, his father was Grandfather Birowo, a former village chief who was died in the rubble during the fall of the meteor.

This study group called the school had been running for about a year, all initiated by my father and he was the only teacher in this place. More precisely when the world was "awakened" and my father was one of the chosen ones who still retained memories of the power of blessing from angels to humans. Tejo, my father said that he was one of the thousands chosen by the angels to continue spreading knowledge on earth in order to guide humans in facing demons who could threaten the world at any time.

This is not a school about literature or scientific knowledge, but a place to learn about the new world and the development of supernatural forces and energy processing in the human body and martial arts to survive and hunt monsters.

"Alright, let us rephrase what we have learned in the past year."

"As you have understood, that the Great Devil tried to steal the holy door from the heaven's treasure room to open the gate of the world and destroy the world and attack heaven, but was defeated by the holy angels."

"While the Holy Door has been destroyed and its fragments have fallen to the earth, the demons can now get out of their world because the splinters activate and open the portal of the door that connects the two worlds, the world of humans and the world of djinns."

"Angels give us more strength so that they can face this terrible new world, they cannot interfere directly, so they send selected people so they can guide others through these people."

"Mr. Tejo, can all humans have the ability or only chosen people like you?" From behind came the questioning voice of a stout young figure who was well-built, had long hair and was tied behind his back, brown-skinned, and had an incision scar from the left cheek to the neck, he was Mas Koco. Koco was one of my father's best students, he was skilled in using swords and hand-to-hand combat, also mastered the element of fire. The wound on his face was the wound when he first practiced hunting with my father and encountered the black bear beast.

"Good question Koco!"

"All human beings have basically been trained and through tutorials facing the new world when they are in the clouds of darkness that we know as Lamuk."

"Humans who fail to pass the tutorial or those who give up will die early."

"Chosen humans will keep their memories while in the darkness tutorial, except for other creatures who are not selected, they will be able to master the ability but cannot remember it at all when they come out of Lamuk. They can regain that power through the help of the chosen people or through experience and practice depends on their abilities and pretension."

"So every human has a chance to be strong?" Koco asked again.

"That's right! But it all depends on their will and efforts."

Without being felt, the day passed so quickly. So many things we repeated that day. I felt very happy because I learned a lot and my father had promised that if I succeeded in learning how to use which energy from the body I would be invited to go hunting with him and other members.
