Lucien tried to read Jack's thoughts, but all he got back was an angry wall. "I needed to know the truth on how she viewed me and her friends happened to be effected too." Lucien shrugged as if it were nothing. This infuriated Jack even more and he didn't even have words to express his feelings.
Lucien sensed that Jack was fuming so he added more, "Her friends are boring anyway." Jack felt that his nonchalant attitude wasn't needed, but couldn't think of the best way to word it. Why is everything so confusing right now? That's when it dawned on him, Lucien spelled him. Now Jack was livid and wanted to beat Lucien's head into the door frame.
Lucien suddenly had an amused grin appear on his face, had he struck a nerve? He knew that putting a barrier spell on the area would cause confusion and middle the thoughts of those who entered the barrier. He could tell by the look on Jack's face, he had realized the trick and wasn't pleased. Jack was about to retaliate when they could hear footsteps coming toward them. Crap! Looks like this battle will have to resume another time. "You're lucky this time, just wait." Jack growled at Lucien under his breath. Just as he finished the sentence Seraphina showed up and instantly became confused. "What are you guys doing? I-I forgot what brought me in here. I.." Suddenly mid sentence she stopped as if she was incredibly stupid.
Lucien waved his hands releasing the barrier spell so the others could return to normal thinking. As soon the spell was lifted Jack punched Lucien in the face and then stormed off. 'Well that wasn't expected and in front of her' Lucien looked at Sera and felt degraded. Sera looked over at Lucien and quietly grabbed his face, looking it over with finesse. "Looks like it was more of a love tap than a punch." She joked with Lucien, a warm smile on her face. He looked down at her with puzzled eyes. How could he continue his diabolical plan when she was treating him this way. Could he still force her to go against everyone she knew and loved. What exactly is going on? He stood there lost in her eyes for what felt like eternity, but was only a few heartbeats worth of time.
"Let's go to the kitchen and get you an ice pack. That way nothing swells." Sera suggested with another warm smile. She sensed there was something brewing under his intense gaze, but what exactly? She felt somewhat embarrassed being this close to Lucien again. What does he think of her? Does he see her as an easy sleaze? "I haven't gotten the chance to talk to you about what happened earlier. I don't normally act this way. I don't know what overcame me. Y-you're actually the f-first guy.." She stopped mid sentence again, not from confusion, but from embarrassment.
Seeing this girl act so shy and hearing her words made his thoughts dissipate. Coming back to the present he smiled at her and replied, "I know you aren't that sort of girl and I like that about you. You have no idea the powers you posses." Her natural magic was impressive and sought after since not many in the magical community had it. Anyone could preform magic and be part of the magical community, but not everyone had a natural born ability. She wasn't even aware of her talent. "What do you mean?" She questioned ignorantly. How could she know? She's only been practicing a few months.
"You're a natural witch and magic should come to you with ease. That's why you have been breezing through your studies." Lucien stayed in a very matter of fact manner. Upon hearing those words Sera fell into a contemplative state. 'My parents really did me a disservice, not teaching me about magic and keeping me in the dark about this side of them.' As she sat thinking Lucien too was thinking. For the next few minutes they sat in silent thought. One was thinking about what their next moves would be, while the other was thinking of the areas they were robbed.
Neither of them noticed Luna (Seraphina's mother) walk into the kitchen. "Ah. There you are Sera dear." Luna beamed. "And Lucien it's nice to see you. What are you two discussing so quietly?" She sensed there was something amiss between the two of them, but couldn't overcome their walls within their minds. Luna wasn't nearly as good as Lucien, since he too was a natural witch. That was something he discovered at a young age, but didn't divulge to anyone other than his father.
