26 They Failed

"F*ck!!!!" Huo Youyou punched the wall the meeting room with all his might. He was so depressed, angered and hated himself because what he deemed to be right was proven wrong in the end.

"Calm Youyou. It's just not you, i also feel the same." Captain Ling was a lot calmer than him although his hands were balled into fists. He closed his eyes as he took a deep breath to ease his mood and leaned against the chair.

Both of them were in complicated mood because they failed to prevent the murder.

When they discussed about when and where the murder would occur and who would be the next victim, they had prudently and cautiously planned their steps.

"Youyou, why do you think the murderer will act this week?" Captain Ling asked to test him. He wanted to know the reasons behind Youyou's assumption.

Youyou hold several photos as he looked at Captain Ling and replied" Captain have you seen an online post that cause an uproar several days ago about this case?"

"Yes." Captain Ling nodded. His mind flew back to the online post of an anonymous he read several days ago.

'When all the revenge is paid, You'll be free. Be at ease and leave your worldly concern because the justice will prevail in the end. I hope that you can rest in peace.

Np: the truth will never be uncovered when the people that supposed to find it are so incapable.

For most people, this post was only about the grief of the user over his friends death because of an injustice. While for the note, they might not know what it actually is because the meaning behind it was too vague. It was really strange to write such a note after a sentence about his grievance. But, the people in the net would just ignired this post. They would just sympathize for the user but they would not think too much about the post.

But it was different with some sharp people like Captain Ling and Huo Youyou.

Once they read the first sentence, it reminded them about the case they handled. When they read injustice, rest in peace, they subconsciously linked them to the life of Zhao Shuangshuang.

At first, they were not sure about their speculation because there was a high possibility that it was not related at all. They might think too much about the case that it probably influence them to the point they would connect the post with the case.

But, their doubt was getting clearer the more they read the post. The incapable people mentioned was highly possible referred to police. And they were more sure when they read 'two trees' and 'cut down' that represented the two victims. In addition, thorny trees might symbolize the people who directly and indirectly pushed Zhao Shuangshuang to death.

Moreover, the 'beloved cat' highly possibly represented Zhao Shuangshuang because from the Investigation, Zhao Shuangshuang was a cat lover.

The online post and the case they were investigating was clearly match.

"The online post seems insignificant but it's actually possible to hold a deeper meaning."

"Yes. I know that." Captain Ling nodded. "Then, what is the purpose of this post?"

"I have some ideas about this. I'm sure that this anonymous user is someone related to Zhao Shuangshuang and know her life story. It is possible that this user is a friend of her and it was also possible that..." Huo Youyou paused before he continued, "the user is the murderers.

"About why i speculate the murder will take place this week because from the post that i assumed was created by the murderers, i found something different from the usual that it make me confused for a while.

"Why did the murderer suddenly share such an online post? i think it is highly possible because the murderers couldn't wait any longer. Moreover, the word 'incapable' that refer to police shows his attitude to us. He look down on us and think highly of himself while it is actually reasonable because his skills are actually more than good to the point it can render us, the police helpless. The word 'soon' strengthen my speculation that the murder will happen this week."

"You are right. That is also what i think." Captain Ling said as he took a picture on the table and showed it to Huo Houyou. "The victim will be one of these three people." In that picture, there were Zhao Shuangshuang, her boyfriend Shen Yu and three other males in school uniform. The three students were the people who derailed her. "Let everyone know about this. We'll move soon."

"Yes Captain." Huo Youyou stood and walked out of the office room to inform his other colleagues.
