Chapter 2

Carissa looked around. She saw a small village a short distance away and, not knowing what else to do, decided to go see if she could find out where she was. As Carissa arrived at the edge of the village, she noticed something was off. First, there were no street lamps or stop signs, also everyone was wearing medieval looking clothes. Confused, Carissa wondered aloud,

"Why does this place look like a renaissance festival?"

"You there." A gruff voice spoke from behind, "what do you think you're doing outside the castle?"

Carissa turned to see a man who looked like a knight staring down at her.

"Your father won't be happy when he finds out you've run off again." The man continued.

Shakily, Carissa replied, "I think you have me confused with someone else."

"No more of your games, princess, you're coming with me." The knight grabbed Carissa by the arm and pulled here up into a carriage. Carissa tried to open the door, but it was locked from the outside. So Carissa sat in the carriage and wondering, 'where am I? Why do these people think I'm a princess? Why does this carriage smell like cabbages??'
