Scratch.... Scratch..... Scrub... Scrub.... Gurgling..... Splatter.... Splatter.

The strong scent of blood was unyielding so unlike it's owners. It threatened to deprive me of my senses and to empty my stomach. Red, crimson red, no matter how hard it would not yield. Unlike the floor the surroundings were peaceful with an occasional cricket squeaking it's song. I lifted my permanently dirt stained arm and rubbed the sweat away. I splashed another bucket of soapy water onto the arena floor. Taking the mop I began to scrub at the floor again, the scent of copper and salt made me cringe but because of the heavy metals on my neck, arms and feet I could not complain or disobey. I'm just happy that I didn't have to watch this battle, I wonder who died today? Was it another slave? Or was it a traitor? I sighed in relief when the blood gave way. It's already midnight so I probably missed dinner ah well, I'm not hungry....to be honest I never really am. But the Slave Masters would not allow us to die. He does however not notice when our skin isn't what it is supposed to be, so sometimes we'd get skin conditions and die and he would not notice but simply carry our bodies out. I sighed as I picked up the bucket... I have no name.... no age. I was taken from my clan when I was barely a week old to be taught by slave masters and staff members. I carried the cleaning supplies to the storage room and then I walked to the slave dorms, which is a small barn outside of the arena and near the Emperor's castle. As I entered I realized some slaves were still awake. Anny, Jane and Kara. They were arguing about who's bath turn it is. I sat down on the straw bed and closed my eyes.

" Hey, isn't it your turn to take a bath?" Jane asks me.

" Take mine." I answered." I think it would help you relax." I added.

" But.... you've been giving your time in the bathhouse up for so long! When was the last time you bathed?" Anny complained. But before I could answer a guard walked in. He pointed towards Jane.

" Bathe and come out, the young master requested you." He walked out and closed the door. I sighed and turned around in bed, I fell asleep right after Jane left. I woke up when the door opened again and a tearful Jane ran in, I sprang to my feet and grabbed her, than I pulled her down embracing her.

" Though I may speak some tongue of old or even spit out some holy words.... I have no strength with which to speak. When you sip me down and see I'm weak. She had long since dried her tears but held onto my red, brown, black and green stained robes. She had closed her eyes.

"Thank you." She whispered,I felt her fall asleep as I carried her to her bed,in between Anny and Kara. Kara reached out and held Jane's hand while Anny mimicked her. I smiled softly.

" Night girls." I whispered and walked back to my bed.
