60 Chapter 59 Rules

The winter break already ended and the students are once again back to school.

After going through four classes a day, the day of E-class students are finished. That's except for tall stacks of homework and daily responsibilities of the school councils.

After doing all their homework, Kira was on her way back to the E-class's lounge when she bummed into Asa and Zakia.

"Oh, Kira, the new school prince and princess will be posted newt week Well....just so if you're interested. Where's Kishi?"

"Nisan isn't feeling very well today so, he went ahead of me"

"That so...what a bummer..." Asa sighed

"If you have something to say to him, I can say it for you if want" said Kira

"Thanks, but no. It's not really that important" He politely denied

"Oh, okay"

Asa smiled "I'll be on my way then"

Kira was about to continue ahead when she suddenly remembered something. She ran back to catch up to them and timidly asked,

"Um...Asa, I, er...wanted to borrow your copy of school rules, please."

Asa beamed at her again before turning to Zakia. She understood the meaning behind his gaze and immediately materialized a fancy looking book with the school's logo in front of it and gave it to her

"thank you"

"Why are you borrowing mine though, aren't there any in the library?"

"I looked, but I didn't find any"

Zakia sighed "As the president of the Fire department, shouldn't you know better that there are only seven copies of that book"

"C'mon Zakia, do you really expect me to know that? I'm not like you book worms you know"

Zakia pouted "President! Please be more sensible!"

Ignoring her, Asa sniggered and placed a hand on Kira's head "Being formal doesn't suit her much, does it" he whispered to her

"President!"

"Alright, alright! See you later Kira"

He waved at her and the two of them left, probably to a council meeting between department presidents.

By the time she entered the lounge, everyone was doing their usual stuff while the others are doing their regular bickering. The room was always noisy that she got used to it.

Fluffy pillows, and plushies are everywhere. Books and several papers filled the table. The room was so messy, yet in the left corner of the room, the large pile of pillows and plushies looked so noticeable. Kira went closer to the pile and sat in the window seat. Kishi was there beside her, under the fluffy pile, staring at the window. He still seemed to be down in the dumps even though that day was already weeks passed.

As she sat comfortably, Kishi leaned on her shoulder and closed his eyes. It was not long yet his already fast asleep. Kira could only giggle as he acts like a baby.

She opened the book and the first thing that she saw was the current students with their positions in the school. Looking at it, she noticed that backgrounds and talents also mattered if one wants to secure a position.

At the Fire department (one of the six major divisions of the school), student's with positions are mostly redheads, with exception to Zakia which is the secretary, yet she stood out with her short curly purple hair and round rimmed glasses. At the Water, they are all azure-blue, while the Wind is all green, the Earth is all blonde, and so on.

The current presidents are Asa from the fire, Aqua in the water, Tera in the earth, Miha in the wind, and Rai in the lightning. The sixth department doesn't really have any real president nor any other students in position. The sixth is an unknown element and they are mostly assassins or underground people. If they have any ruler, that would probably the assassin trio.

Flipping through the pages, Kira was taken aback by the overwhelming number of rules. Each was written carefully allowing no loopholes to exist. Kira started to wonder, even if there are a great number of rules in the school, there are still student's who likes to cause a lot of trouble.

Is it because they don't know the rules? Or was it intentional that not much students are allowed to read the school's rule book?

"Aww...look at him, Kishi's so adorable when he's asleep. He looks so innocent this way"

It was Mythica's voice that brought her back to reality. A couple of classmates was staring at them, and she didn't notice it until then.

"Yo Kira, did something happen during the holidays?" Rex asked her quizzically

"Oh, you noticed that?" Airi told him bluntly

"Shut up!"

"Shh! You'll wake him up" Mythica hissed at them

Realizing that they already noticed Kishi's sudden change of attitude, Kira sighed and looked at him.

"It's obvious, huh?" she sighed

"So, something really did happen?" said Airi

Kira remained silent and simply stared at her dear brother as he sleeps.

"Aren't you always together? --Ouch! Myth, that hurt!" Rex complained when Mythica smacked him.

"Rex, your so insensitive! It's alright Kira, pay this idiot no attention"

"idiot?!"

Kira sighed again and shook her head, "I was asleep, when I woke up, nisan is already like this, I'm sorry..."

The others exchanged looks. Kira's voice sounded so gentle, yet frail and sad. They felt regret that they even asked and just tried to change the subject.

"Anyway, Kira, what's this?" Mythica pointed the book she was holding.

"oh, this? It's the rule book, I burrowed it from Asa earlier"

The others gaped and looked at each other again. The black and white twins appeared out of nowhere and said,

"Kira, flip the pages to the student rankings" Instructed yin

Confused, Kira did as he said and flipped the pages to where the student rankings are written. There pictures of students with their rank in the left, and their names at the right are written. At the top, pictures of Kishi and Red, with a crown and a number one written on the left of it. Kira was not far behind and was just under her brothers rank, which is two along with Airi and Lune, while Rex was ranked third along with Bubblegum and Mythica.

The others gaped again and exchange looks. Mischievous thoughts are seen on their eyes, which confused Kira even more.

Yin took the book from Kira, and carelessly shove off all the books and papers in the table at the center. He opened the book, his brother beside him and the others followed. He took out a white butterfly fountain pen and begun scribbling in the pages. The others also did the same and they all scribbled in the book, while sinister giggles coming from them.

Kira just stared at them. She still didn't understand what's going on, but she felt a really bad feeling about it.

With all their noise, Kishi roused and rubbed his moisty large eyes. He looked around and saw them doing something really bad. He turned to his clueless sister and sighed.

"You idiot, it far too late now"

"Er?"

Everything happened really fast and they returned the book to her and acted as if nothing had happened. Kira looked at the book in her hand and was about to open it when her brother stopped her.

"Don't open it" he said

"Why?"

Asa and the other presidents entered the room before he could answer. Everybody involved swiftly acted naturally, while the uninvolved acted as if they didn't see anything. Asa looked around before waving at her. He approached her and asked before taking the book back.

"Your done with this, right? I'll take it back if you don't mind"
