I walked to the cafeteria, clutching the lunch box Mee gave me. There seemed to be a few empty seats. I walked over to a table. A bunch of my classmates were sitting there, hatting away.
'Hi,' I greeted them, smiling. They stopped chattering and looked at me. 'Can I sit here?'
'It's already taken,' a big, burly boy with curly hair sneered at me. 'Go away.'
My smile faltered. I slowly walked towards another table. The kids at the table gave me nasty looks and got up to walk away. I took the empty seat, scanning around the cafeteria. There were still people staring at me, as if I was something dirty. I racked my head to think if I'd have done something. The burly boy from the next table got up and came over to the place I was sitting.
'So you're the bastard,' he sneered. Another new word. And it sounded worse than the other one.
'What does that mean?' I asked.
The boy stared at me for a second before he burst out laughing.
'You don't even know what you are?' he laughed. 'Didn't your mom ever tell you?'
For some reason, that angered me. The whole cafeteria was watching now.
'It means your mother is a slut,' he said loudly. Clearly, I was going to add a lot of words to day to my vocabulary.
'What are you saying?' I shouted at him. 'Stop it!'
'Your daddy dumped your mommy,' he mocked. I never wanted to hit someone so badly.
Anger was bubbling in me and I really wanted to hit him.
'Your daddy hates-'
Splat! In a split second, I dumped my tiffin on his head. Mee would be furious at me if she heard. But I didn't care. The boy's mouth fell open in shock as the noodles slipped off his slimy head.
'You!'
