13 Chaotic Moment

It was usually a peaceful morning for Rose, but not that day. She was having her own sweet time to find a suitable attire fir the day as her phone rang crazily.

"Rose, take a look at your Facebook!" It was none other than Leah, with her booming voice that could possibly awaken the dead in the graveyard.

"Why? What happen?" Rose still leisurely picking up dress after dress before she finally decided to wear her favourite maxi A-line round-neck pleated black dress. With simple round diamond earrings attached to her ears, she completed her look with a wavy loose hair. She also put on her favourite apricot-coloured lipstick, she was ready for her day.

"Can you just go and check your Facebook?" Leah kept on nagging her to check her Facebook.

"Just tell me, what happen?" But Rose just didn't want to comply. She slowly walked down the staircases till she walked to the dining table, where she was surprised to see George was presented as well. He was all looked grim.

"I'll check it later, see you later," she quickly ended her phone call with Leah and greeted her parents and George.

"Why so grim? Is there anything wrong with the company?" She asked George once she took her seat. George widen his eyes as if he was trying hard to suppressed his anger within him. Rose was momentarily stupefied with his expression. It only meant one thing: trouble.

" Rose dear... Who did you meet last night? " Mrs Jane Smith asked her while patted her hands softly.

"Oh, last night? It was Steve, no one else. Why?" Mr and Mrs Smith both were surprised with her blunt answer. It had been ages the last time they saw him.

"Steve? Steve Mclare?" it was George who asked her.

"Yeah, who do you think it was? My scandal?" Rose shrugged and simply took a sip of black coffee before she took a bite of her toasted bread. She even put some kimchii into her bread and ate it as if she was in heaven and have all the time in the world. Hrmmm... Heaven...

" You haven't read the post and its comments on your Facebook, have you?" George looked at her with askance. He thoroughly felt so frustrated with his own sister's manner whenever it came to her relationship.

"Nah... I can read it later," Rose answered him nonchalantly while enjoying her breakfast like there was nothing wrong.

"Do you know who spread the news about you being not loyal and that you are not suitable to be taken as a wife?" Rose shrugged and feigned innocence.

"It's Devon! That bastard! He even paid some of his followers to slander you. Don't you feel worried about this matter?" Rose scoffed. Why should she care about this matter.

"My brother dear, I don't give it a damn, so why should you?" she paused a bit,

"It's not the end of the world when people started to spite you. Besides, I'm not a superstar! That's the main point here, so rest assured" she continued. George was on the verge of tearing down everything that obstruct him and he was completely frustrated with his sister, Rose.

"Anyway, I'll get going. It's almost time," she quickly stood but before she could take a step away, her father called her. She slowly turned around and looked at her father with her megawatt smile plastered on her face.

"Make sure to come home right after you close your gallery. It has been a long time since your last dinner with us," then he turned to George, "you too. Bring along Selena and David,"

"Sure, Bye dad! Mom!" Rose quickly made her way out and drove off with her Bulgatti Veyron.

"George, help me to call Mr Luke," Mr James Smith, was the one who broke the awkward silence among the three of them.

"I don't think there's a need to call them dad. I don't even think they are aware of the matter," George tried to talk his father out of the matter. Mr James Smith glared at him sternly before he scoffed in furious.

"I don't care. Either you call them or I'll do it myself. How dare their son maligned my baby. Who they think they are?" Mr James Smith was totally pissed off.

"You need to take care darling. Don't carried away with your anger." Mrs Jane Smith tried her best to console her husband as she was worried that his illness would flare up.

When she reached Queenie Majestic Gallery with her coffee, she saw Leah was wandering about in nervousness. Jeremy sat on the little sofa at one corner, watching Leah with a frown. These two looked quite compatible with other, as if they are a couple. The sudden idea of bringing the two people together had definitely enlightened her grim mood.

"Dear! What taken you so long? I'm worried about you!" Leah rushed to her side and sizing Rose up and down to make sure she was unharmed.

"Gosh, Leah. I'm okay. No worries," she tried to reassured Leah but Leah won't buy it. Although she only had known Rose for three years now, every now and then she would care about her, no matter what. It was as if she was looking after her baby sister.

"Have you read all the comments on your Facebook?"

"Nah, let them comment whatever comments they wanted to throw in." Rose shrugged nonchalantly and simply walked towards her office.

"Are you serious? I was officially pissed off with you being simple-minded!" Leah stomped her feet and spat out whatever feelings and thoughts came across her mind on the spot.

Jeremy who had been keeping watch from the sideline completely floored. He never thought a girl like Leah would be so blatant to express her thoughts. Fiercely yet adorable. Uh... Why did he think that way? Jeremy quickly shook off his own thought. He himself was assaulted by his uncle early that morning. Thinking back what had transpired that morning, he became sullen. Damn! How could he know someone stalked Rose and took her pictures eating with some guy and she even strolled romantically side by side with that guy alongside the famous Kuching Waterfront?

Rose sighed and turned around, looked into Leah's eyes before she gently patted Leah's shoulder.

"I'm not a simple-minded woman. I know what happen but I chose to ignore them. Do you know why?" Leah shook her head vigorously.

"Because I'm not a fool. If I react to the post, won't that hurt my pride? And make me look like a fool? That's simple-minded. You hear me?" Rose enunciated word by word for Leah to comprehend. Jude almost clapped his hands in admiration upon listening to Rose's reasoning.

No wonder my uncle head over heels for her. Good luck to you uncle!!!
