HER NEXT MOVE

The next day she woke up with a sour neck due to her last night's sleeping position. Amy was still sleeping so, Jessica tip-toed to the bathroom and took a shower.

Walking out of the bathroom she could not help but laugh at her friend who had a serious expression on her face while examining her surroundings. Giving a light chuckle Jessica walked to draw the curtains and let some light come in. "Ahhh..!!" Amy shouted in an annoyed tone covering herself in the sheets to block the sunlight.

"Get up and have a shower. Time for breakfast, dude." Jessica said trying to pull out Amy from under the sheets.

"no… I don't wanna get up. Drawback the curtains." came the voice of Amy from the under of the sheets.

Amy and Jessica came down the stairs in a gentle way and sat next to the Old Master. "good morning, grandpa" both said in unison.

"Good morning kids. Did you have a good night's sleep." said the old man with a gentle smile on his face. "Yeah.' said Amy sitting down and grabbing a toast from the nearby plate. Jessica also sat down took some omelets from the table.

Father Han and Mother Han could not believe that they were ignored by the girls. Father Han was about to say something when he was interrupted by the sweet voice of Jia, "Good morning grandfather." Jia sat down opposite the old man with a pleading expression. But her expression became dull when the old man does not even look at her.

After breakfast, Jessica and Amy accompanied the Old master to his study while Father Han waited for them in the living room. After about two hours the three of them stepped out of the study and grandfather waved goodbye to both the girls leaving in his car.

Taking advantage of the situation Father Han made Jessica sit in front of him and listen to what he had to say.

"Jessica, you are my daughter and I have realized that I did wrong to you so I am sorry. Will you forgive me, please." Thinking for some time Jessica said, "Okay, due to our relationship I am willing to forgive you, but… as compensation, I need those shares back which were passed by my mother to me in her will… Do you agree with this father?"

Hearing her reply Father Han broke into a cold sweat, 'How does she know about the will. It does not matter right now, I have to win her trust. I will take the shares from Jia and give them to her. After I am done with her I can take them back.' He thought to himself and replied with a yes to Jessica

In the afternoon Lawyer Wang who was the personal advocate of Father Han came to the Han Mansion with the shares transfer agreement. During lunch, the Old Master called and said that he would not be home until late at night as he had to meet a friend of his. He instructed Butler Ye to take care of Jessica and Amy.

Jessica and Amy sat in the garden having their afternoon tea when Father Han rushed towards them and sat down near Jessica.

With a rushed expression he said, "I have something I want to talk about with you." Jessica gave him an innocent smile and said, "sure. What is it, Dad."

Hearing the way Jessica addressed him he was at a bit of ease and said, "Mr. Steve Smith is one of the biggest investors in our company. He is a brilliant businessman and he has a decent family background. His father wants you to marry Mr. Steve. What do you think? I am sure they will treat you like the queen and Mr. Steve is a really good man. He would cherish you."

Seeing a bit of disappointment on the face of Jessica he added, "I have always treated you so badly, now I want you to settle in your life. My intentions are pure."

At the end of his words, Jessica gave him a half-smile and said, "You should ask about this marriage alliance with sister Jia first, I am sure she will agree."

This put Father Han in a dilemma, Jia had always liked someone else and she would never marry anyone else. "No-No… They want you to marry into their family…. not Jia." Jessica thought for a while and replied, "Okay! But I want to meet Mr. Steve Smith tomorrow." Father Han's face beamed with happiness and he agreed to her request.

"Jessica! Are you for real going to marry that unknown creature.." said Amy who was shocked to hear her friend on the marriage matter. Jessica poked Amy's cheek and said, "it would not be interesting if I said 'no' directly. It would only bring loss to the Han family and I want to shame the Han family." Amy was confused and could not figure out what was going inside the head of her bestie, but she believed her so she kept quiet and waited for the show to begin.
