Fists flew in a fluid motion as a messy brown-haired boy's face got beaten to a pulp but his arms did not even flinch due to the pain inflicted and kept on hitting forward through pure instincts.
While his fists managed to parry a few of the opponent's attack, his offence couldn't leave a single mark on his opponent.
Bang
Rito felt like he was standing in the middle of a raging current as his body was battered by the onslaught of waves.
With a strong hit, his body flew back reluctantly as he couldn't contain the opponent's force and slammed on the walls of the empty dojo.
With a thud, his body slid down while his legs finally gave up, his head hung low and his arms resting on his side. The only clue entailing his living status was his soft breaths that thundered in the spacious dojo while the white-haired opponent with a muscular body shook his head and walked towards Rito with a hideous grin.
Well, not hideous, but this was an apt description in Rito's vocabulary.
"Kid? Are you done with your extra lessons?"
The white-haired youth crouched in front of Rito and raised his head by lifting his chin. The blood dripping off his chin stained his hand but the white-haired youth did not mind such a small thing.
If one doesn't literally bleed and sweat during training, then how can a person get stronger.
Though extreme, this has been the motto of the white-haired youth from the moment he started training himself.
Meanwhile, Rito's breathless chuckles sounded out and his soft whispers pleased the white-haired youth.
"If... I can't even land a... a single blow on G-Garou-senpai... then,... then I don't think I can even qualify to become a... B... a B-Class Hero."
Garou let go of his chin, making Rito's head go through a sudden motion, making him spit out blood from his mouth.
"Now I can see my shadow in you."
Garou stood up and wiped off the blood on his martial-arts pants and chuckled loudly.
"Well, that isn't comforting at all."
Even though beaten to a pulp, Rito still managed to let out a punch.
"Hah! You say one thing, but I can see that expression during the training!"
"So? Are you going to pay for the medical expenses?"
An aged voice cut the two martial brothers' arguments, revealing an old man with a tanned, wrinkled face and a bushy white moustache. The old man wore the same clothes as Garou.
A long-sleeved, body-fitting t-shirt alongside a white martial arts pants and black tai chi slippers.
Seeing the old man, Garou clasped his hand for formality's sake and spoke with a grin.
"Don't worry master! I'll pay for the expenses this time."
"You both are a fool!"
Bang snorted and walked towards Rito, poking a few points in his body and making him cough another mouthful of blood before he could finally breathe freely.
"Thank you, master. I would've stood up, but as you can see, I would need at least three hours before I can stand. Well, I haven't gotten as old as you, but you understand that I wasn't making fun of you, right?
Not that I think that you are old, but you do have a few wrinkles here and there.
Don't worry, I'll get my mother's skin cream and lend it to—"
With a thud, his face kissed the floor as smoke rose from Bang's fist.
"Yeah, yeah, I know that I am old."
Bang spoke grimly while Garou clapped his hands in amusement.
"That's harsh, master! But I think that you should use some skincare products."
Garou's eyes constricted as his head tilted while a sharp fist flew by the side of his face, scratching his cheek.
"Talk about being a bag of old bones! Yours are sharper than a blade, you old liar."
Garou immediately sidestepped and retreated before letting Bang continue his barrage of fists.
"I know, right."
Rito stood up while rubbing his steaming head.
As it turns out, he lied about getting up, too. After all, it's already been five years since he had been going through such a harsh training with this crazy and extreme senior brother of his.
Not to mention the insensitive master that lash out the moment discussion steers off to his age.
"Rito, are you ready for your entrance examination?"
Bang finally stopped and looked at Rito with his hands behind his hunched back.
"Yes, master. A warm-up with Garou-senpai really loosened my joints."
Rito grinned as his face was swollen by all the beating. The three of them knew that such an intense fight cannot be classified as a warm-up, but in this dojo, as long as you are alive and your limbs are fine, everything will be considered as a warm-up.
"Honestly, I don't know the objective of going to that pretentious school at all."
Garou sat with his hands supporting his back and sighed out loud.
"I mean, yeah, Heroes are cool and all, but why would you try and show off your good deeds if you only intended to help others selflessly?"
Bang sighed while Rito had a strange expression.
"Senpai... what kind of era do you live in? Heroism is a profession with its own set of knowledge. Even Bang-sensei is more open-minded."
"Well, old men tend to have an open—"
Garou flipped back as steam emerged from the floor accompanied with a fist imprint.
"Well, I'm off!"
Garou didn't wait up and left the duo quickly.
"Hey, you were supposed to pay for my—"
"Don't worry, I'll pay for your expenses."
"But it's not about expenses!"
Rito complained with a distressed expression.
"It's about principles."
Bang gazed into Rito's eyes seriously and spoke up seriously.
"Says the boy who tried to sneak attack behind my back.
Now follow, let's get you patched up."
Rito followed behind Bang and got his traditional 'patch-up' before leaving the dojo.
Standing on the dojo doorstep, Rito shook hands with another brown-haired boy and spoke gratefully.
"Thanks, Charanko! Your quirk's real helpful."
"No problem!"
Charanko, his other martial brother smiled and spoke with a joyful expression.
His quirk could increase the bodily functions by a small factor for a short time that could facilitate quick healing of injuries with the help of the dojo's secret medicine paste.

"Ow! Don't do it so fast!"
Rito muttered without even flinching as a brown-haired girl pouted and ripped the bandages apart with one soft motion.
"Rito, why do you need to fight all evening. Didn't you wish to train? This is plain bullying."
Hearing her words, Rito smiled and placed his palm on her head and smiled with a clear look in his eyes.
"Mikan, 'this' is my training. I have my entrance exam tomorrow, who knows what the examiners will set.
Don't worry, your big bro is going to be the strongest hero ever!"
Riiip
"Being the strongest hero is even more worrisome."
Mikan threw the bandage inside the dustbin and traced her fingers over the bruises over her elder brother's face.
"Say, doesn't it hurt... all of this? How can you go through all of this?"
Her thumb touched the purple mark near Rito's lips and asked seriously. Every day, Rito's face would return swollen by miraculously, it would be completely healed the next day.
"Aw, you are so cute."
Rito smiled and picked her up while his hands immediately covered her thin waist.
"Hey! Don't—"
Mikan suddenly felt a strange feeling and tried to speak up, but at this moment Rito's leg slipped up and he fell down, bringing Mikan along.
Thud
Their eyes opened as they found their gazes intersecting each other's while Mikan's face blushed furiously.
Rito, being beaten till he became completely shameless, smiled gratefully and tried comforting her.
"Ah! My sister's finally grown—"
Before he could speak, Mikan immediately headbutted his chin, making him shut-up in sting while his hands gripped unconsciously, making Mikan yelp in surprise.
"Sorry, sorry."
Rito immediately tried to move but Mikan stopped him with a furious glare.
"Don't you dare move!"
Well, even if they both couldn't see it, they knew that Rito's hand were placed right above her cute buttocks as her skirt was raised while her panties threatened to rip apart.
"How about I move my hand slowly, huh? We both should already be accustomed to this kind of accident, right?"
Hearing her elder brother's shameless words, Mikan lowered her head and gave his chin another headbutt before looking up with a glare.
"How about saying— this will be the last accident?! You hentai— Eep!"
Mikan's face blushed while Rito grinned and showed his hands in front of her face.
"There, all settled! Now let's eat food!"
Mikan immediately stood up with a blushed cheeks and couldn't help but mutter.
"It's always training or food with you, hmph!"
"Hey, what about the daily baths!"
"That's a routine you kept from your previous lifestyle! But that's the only thing. What about your studies and art practices?"
Mikan countered sharply.
"Hahaha, don't worry about my studies! But if I really wanted to concentrate on the dojo, then giving up on art club isn't much of an issue."
Rito rubbed the back of his head as he stood up. After joining the dojo, his physique quickly developed under intense training and now, his height could easily put his classmates into shame.
"We'll go to bath after dinner, so don't be mad!"
"We'll take a bath before eating dinner."
Mikan replied back and Rito once again picked this small pepper of a sister and laughed.
"Bath it is!"
"Hey!!"
While she wasn't repulsed by getting a ride on her brother's broad shoulder, she simply dreaded Rito's strange accident. But all her complaints were left unheard as Rito led himself to the bathroom where a warm bath was already prepared.
***
"Rito, do you really need to go through all this just to become a hero? Even with their quirks, Dad and Mom chose another line of work, why don't you try something else?"
Mikan spoke as the back of her head snuggled against Rito's chest while she made bubbles from her fingers. If one concentrated, they could see tiny indentations on the tip of her fingers.
With his eyes closed and enjoying the warm water, Rito heaved a sigh of relief and smiled.
"Dad loves drawing Manga and he is also fortunate enough to have a compatible quirk while Mom's fashion sense is world class.
Your quirk is also appraised as one of the few rescue-class quirks, but I am the only quirkless of our family."
Mikan placed her hand on Rito's and pulled his hand in front of her budding breasts and carefully looked at his scarred and rough palm.
"Dad and Mom never differentiated between both of us, Idiot Rito."
She muttered with a pout while the young sister's heart ached as she saw the suffering Rito's body had to go through.
Taking his hand away and placing it at the edge of the bathtub, Rito stayed silent for a moment before speaking up.
"No, they didn't. They're my parents... our parents. But the world isn't kind and personally, I am quite gratified that I am the quirkless one in our family."
Mikan's body shrunk and she pushed her back against Rito's chest even harder, her wet hair tied into two side-buns.
"That's unfair."
Mikan's finger created a large bubble as she looked at the ceiling with a distressed gaze.
"How is it unfair? Even after being quirkless, I am fortunate enough to have a happy family and I still found a chance to get strong enough to be a hero.
You do know that I broke through 20 concrete tiles in the competition last year, right?
I am even stronger than before."
"But you have to go through so much hardship."
"The pain that I have to go through for my strength makes my life completely fair. If I gained it through a quirk or a cheat, then that would be unfair."
Rito looked at his own scarred arms and felt his heart swell in pride. Maybe he became slightly twisted after going through such intense training, but he never left that life was unfair to him.
"Okay, we have to eat dinner, too."
Rito kissed the back of his sister's head and tried to get up when Mikan pushed him back with her body weight and pouted— "Five more minutes."
