"Fan Lei is right. It is no one's fault. Besides, what you told is not entirely wrong. It is just that, we missed the part that the snow dragon, who happens to knew soul beguilement is no longer available."

Long Fuzi seconded when he heard the melancholy and self-blame in Chan Gu's voice. 

"But, how long would it take for the little snow dragon to learn about soul beguilement??"

Mu Lingxi asked, reminding her friends that the situation is not yet entirely hopeless.

"It will still take around another one hundred years before this small fledgling could evolve into a full-grown dragoness."

The old hermit replied with a helpless sigh. It's not that he wants to crush the hope in their eyes, but he knew that putting their hope on the little snow dragon is pointless.
