15 Tired but satisfied

I went home with a gleeful heart, tired but very much satisfied. At last, everything is in control now plus I have a surprise package for my mom. It is expected to arrive tomorrow afternoon. Hopefully it will be delivered home before my reporting time to work. My shift this time is 3pm to 11pm. Usually, I leave home an hour before my call time. So if it will be delivered at around 1pm, I can still capture my mom's reaction to it. She is easy to please and usually exaggerates her appreciation to even simple things. I smiled while imagining how she would react later to a package delivered to her doorstep. More to her reaction on opening the package full of her favorite "kitchen toys for the big girls". I was happy and excited, a positive feeling that made me drowse to sleep peacefully.

The next day, I woke up early still with a happy feeling. Nobody is stirring in the house so I presumed everybody is still asleep. I went to the kitchen to prepare breakfast when my mom came out from their room and said she's in the mood to cook an extra special breakfast. She ordered me to go back to sleep until breakfast is ready but I decided to do other things. It's still past 5am so I decided to water the plants in the garden. My dad has plenty of vegetables planted in the backyard garden so I decided to go there first.

"Mom, I had more than enough sleep, I'll water the plants instead but I'll go to the vegetable garden first to see if there is something I can bring in here. I'm also in the mood to eat freshly picked vegetables from our garden. Mom, can we have a vegetable salad this breakfast please...."

She looked at me dearly and said with a wink "Your wish is my command darling."
