On the final day.
In Fortress 178.
All of the residents stayed by their radios to keep up with the latest news on the conflict.
If there was no radio at home, the entire family would gather at their neighbors' houses to stay updated. Everyone would hold their breaths as they waited for any breaking news to be announced.
The male broadcaster's voice was very pleasant to the ear, but it was always accompanied by bad news on the radio broadcast.
Entire formations of the Northwest Army got wiped out. Sometimes, the listeners would fall into infinite silence as they listened to the broadcast. When they heard a news report saying that an entire unit had been annihilated, earth-shattering wails would ring out next to the radio.
That was because their families might be among the fallen troops.
The streets of Fortress 178 were completely silent.
