"Huff...Huff..." Si Liuqi panted. He felt very tired when he stopped cultivating the ice devouring technique.
"Kid why did you merge your consciousness with the ice? You could have become an idiotic fool if you were to lose your concentration even once." The old man spoke in a serious way. "Well never do that again, until you gain advanced mastery over the technique. Don't worry it won't take that long for you, as you were able gain quasi initial mastery over the technique, just in one sit. Even the geniuses under heaven would cough up blood and die from shock if they were the hear of this matter." Then the old man muttered something else. "I guess you really are from that bloodline..."
"Huh?! I already gained quasi initial mastery? That would mean if I were to cultivate this technique again tomorrow, I would fully reach initial mastery? I would become immune to cold?" Liuqi asked. He was indeed very surprised when he heard of this matter. He had always been the very average in everything. Maybe even lower than the usual average. He was really happy to find something he was good at. "Uh, also, old man do you know what time it is?"
"The sun rose about an hour ago, from what I know the school in Shrek begins about an hour after the sun rises, you should hurry." The old man answered casually.
"What? That would mean that I was in the cultivation for longer than 5 hours. Wait, I should go to the class instead of making a big deal of this matter." Liuqi quickly made his way into the first year's fifth classroom, the classroom of clowns.
He was lucky that the teacher was still not there when he entered the class. He quickly sat down in a vacant seat, that was next to the windows, and was at the very back. He had always sat in the very back when he was in the tang sect. That was because it was usually the coolest place within the room.
About a minute later a short, skinny man entered the class. He was indeed a teacher of the Shrek's outer court. But a lot of students didn't notice this as the teacher was so short that even some of the first graders were taller than him. Only some people who paid great attention to teacher seats during the freshman conference noticed him and stood up immediately. The students who didn't notice the teacher, being a teacher, were taken aback. They also stood up.
"Only five out of you twenty actually stood up? Truly worthy of the name "Worst Class". Seems like you lot are all trash! Whatever, y'all will follow me to the training grounds for some wake up exercise, aka, running around the training grounds for 150 laps. Since your brains look like they need it." The teacher spoke in an overbearing tone. He was very angry to see that all of these suckers, who were the worst of their grade, disrespecting him the moment they met face to face.
"Teacher why do we also have to follow them, didn't we stood up the moment you entered?" A student who stood up on time asked?
"You dare question a teacher's choice? Fine, all of you who stood up in time will run 250 laps instead!"
The students who stood up felt wronged and angry. This was exception to Liuqi as he sighed and quickly left room to the training grounds. He was the first from his class to make it in there. He saw some armors that were probably used for exercise here.
"Wear those armors, which weigh 30 kilograms and start running, if you cannot finish your laps within 2 hours, I can say the only outcome you will get is expulsion!" The voice of the teacher came from sky. "Now quickly start, the timer is already on."
The students all started running, the weakest; the agility, control, and support soul masters were only able to last to at most 100 laps. But none of them stopped running, they were all afraid of expulsion. They all ran until they fainted from pain and exhaustion. Only eight of them were left and had passed the 150 laps. The ones who didn't stand up on time stopped running.
Currently only Liuqi and three others who also stood up on time were still running. At 165 laps, one of them fainted. There was also just 30 minutes left to complete the laps. 10 minutes passed, and another someone fainted right before the 180th lap. Liuqi and the remaining student picked their speed up after seeing how much time was left. After 15 minutes, at the 220th lap, the only remaining student other than Liuqi fainted.
Liuqi wasn't in such a great condition either as he couldn't open his eyes and was about to faint at any given moment. But just as he was going to give in, he felt a yin attributed soul power surge under his stomach, right where the soul core is formed. He suddenly felt as if there were thousands of ant walking over him, which made him really itchy.
This only lasted for a moment however. After Liuqi opened his eyes once more to see everything going slower. He didn't know but this change also caused some change in his personality. One could see that even his walking style became so different that it gave somewhat a cold feeling compared to the former.
"This kid actually refined the impurities of the technique to force his way into the initial mastery level, truly a monster!" The old man muttered in a flabbergasted way as if he saw a pigeon evolved into a phoenix under a day. "This kid's future is immeasurable!"
Liuqi then increased his speed even more, he was actually able to finish the remaining 30 laps under 5 minutes. Even if a lap was only around 45 meters, 250 laps within 2 hours was something that even some soul grand masters and maybe even soul elders had difficult time of completing, not to mention, finishing the last 30 laps within 5 minutes.
"This kid actually managed it? Not bad. Not bad at all." The teacher spoke to himself. Only he knew that even he was surprised by this sort of outcome.
