Mutation at Supermarket

All the continents were now facing the sun.

The earthquake begins to settle.

The sun began to change, the sun became red as it brightly shined down on earth, the same time the clouds transformed.

Inside the supermarket, couple minutes have already past as Sophia and Amanda were in a empty area with some other who sat down waiting for rescue. Emma went to help carry of the injured people.

The crowd inside the supermarket could hear trucks coming by on the road, they couldn't tell, as they guess it was probably the recuse team. The supermarket was right next to a busy area, as they were next to a medium size shopping marts, some mid-size office, and some entertainment and restaurant.

The three national guard transport trucks stops on the main road next to the big parking lot of the supermarket and the neighboring mall, as people could see three squads of troops jumping out of the back bring out supplies. There were about 30 troops, as all the troops wore the same with camouflage shirt and pants, wearing no helmets and some necessities on body.

In the exact moment, the shine of the sun suddenly changed. The light that the projected was now red. It was like a giant red flashlight that shined down on earth as people could see a shade of red everywhere the sun shined.

With the change of color, also came a change in temperature as it increased to 90°F (32°C) and rising.

The clouds begin to move as it soon rain while the sun was still visible.

The troops took a glimpse up and didn't care for the change, as they continue to set camp to help the injured.

Most of the national guards weren't armed, only 6 were armed including the three staff Sergeant were the only ones that had a Beretta M9 strapped, as they were only here for help and rescue.

The national guards, and army were spread thin as the whole country was in chaos. This area wasn't much of a problem as there were more problems closer to the cities.

The troops came in as they help and escort the injured first as the others could either follow or stay for shelter. The troops came as there was more man power to help those that were stuck deeper in the shelves and the one person stuck under the metal beam as the hot sun and rain descends on him.

Some others including Emma and the two girls that weren't injured decide to stay as the supermarket still looked stable enough and they could feel the intense heat outside with the rain as it produce a humid air

The man under the beam was pretty helpless as the metal beam clamped both of this leg. As he stood there with tears and sweat "I feel nothing, pretty sure I'm going to be a cripple for life" as he thought to himself.

He lay flat as he looks up at the red sun as it bleeds through the bright red clouds that came with the shower, he was heavily bleeding from his legs as the bones shatter and the muscles torn. Troops came and help, there were struggles as they were able to pull him out with some effort.

The rain was falling all around the world, as the cloud wasn't thick but still shower with the sun still shining brightly. The rain had a shade of transparent red as if someone put water coloring into the clouds.

The cripple man just lay there as his eyes unblinkingly stared into the sun as he get drench with rain, as the strange water seeps into his injuries. They were able to to get a weak heartbeat, as they quickly bandage his almost flatten legs.

The soldiers were also wet as they were able to put him on the stretcher, and at the same time the cripple man noes started to bleed and slowly his eyes also start to bleed as they took him outside.

Mysteriously, the virus in the man started to change and mutate as long exposure of the sunlight and water radiation. With this new component of sunlight and water radiation, the virus mutated. The spread of the mutation started to be a deadly virus.

The cripple man heart beat stopped as he was dead as they still carried him. In seconds just outside the supermarket door, his restful body started to move, at first fingers moves up and down. Still hidden from the 4 troops that carried him, he started to slightly twitch now and then.

The troopers were able to catch his twitching as they stopped and sat the stretcher down as they thought he had a seizure as they try to put him on his side, as one troop went to get medical assistance.

Unknown to the troops, as they put the man on his side, he started to move, he quickly grabbed the man with his hand as the cripple man opens his mouth took a big strong bite out of the soldier right hand.

The man-eating cripple didn't stop there as he quickly pulled himself on the soldier with both hands having strong grip on the soldier uniform.

The man-eating cripple soon took another bite on the same solider left arm. The soldier tries to withstand the pain on his hand as, he used all his force to push the man-eating cripple away.

"The f*ck is he doing!!" The other two soldiers were shocked to the current situation as one of their buddies was getting eaten from a man half way towards his grave. The action of the man-eating cripple was quick as it only took him two seconds to take two bites from that one soldier from its surprise attack.

The man-eating cripple got pushed away, it slowly got up, it looked a meter around him as he was able to spot two other soldiers that was running towards him.

The two other soldiers didn't hold back as they were quick and able to push him down and efficiently were able to pull both the man's arm behind its back as the soldiers restrain him.

Right behind the two restraining soldiers, the bitten soldier already stood up as his nose and eyes are already bleeding, much quicker than the cripple as he had transparent pupils as he walks but limping toward them.

The infected soldier slowly touches the closest soldier on the arm, as he grips on it then extend his head towards the man's shoulders as he took a chuck out of the soldier. the infected continues, the infected pushed the soldier down.

The other soldier was surprise as he was attack by his own comrade as he let loose the other infected that was restrained.

The situation started to turn for the worse as the soldier did an head lock against the infected soldier as he pull the infected soldier on the ground. Out of sight of him, the cripple was already on his legs as he crawled with his arms as took a chunk of the man leg.

The man began to be eaten by two others infected, as the third one rises as his eyes and nose were bleeding. After a minute all the 4 were infected, soon 2 medical assistance came with the other soldier.

"Hey! you guys okay? what happen, what with all the blood!?" Soon the three called out as they walk closer, soon the first infected soldier that was first bitten took the first initiative, as it began to walk without limping. Right behind him the other soldier was semi limping and the last one quickly crawling.

At the 1-meter mark with all the raining and shade of red light, the three finally found something odd as their pupil was semi-transparent. It was already too late as the infected didn't stop moving closer as it got close enough that he pushed the first soldier down.

The two medical assistance found something weird as their instinct began to jump in as they kick away the infected-on top of their buddy. One assistant kicked so hard that, the infected head tilted sideways. The other two medical assistant saw the other infected coming as they began to run back to their camp that was about 200 meters away.

As they ran, the 5 infected didn't chase as they began to walk towards the supermarket as there was a lot of noise still being produce back there.

Emma, Sophia and Amanda saw everything as they were close to the window as they saw what happen at the front of the supermarket. Emma and the two girls were quite all nervous, shocked and scared, as this scene seems to be from a zombie movie.

They began to run quickly back of the store as their adrenaline kicked in as they were trembling. They weren't the only one that saw this scene as there were others that ran out of the door, some other to neighboring stores.

Back to the small area of camp that set up as there were busy soldiers walking back and forth as they try to provide as much medical assistant and help. Inside the sergeant tent there were a few soldiers as they report some absurd things like zombies.

As things were being reported back, inside the medical ward things were already going into hell, as multiple casualties becoming zombies as many patients they brought were already drenched in rain and sunlight.

Thing were already in chaos as other places, people were already turning into zombies.
