Next Mission

Alaric and his squad left with the diplomats on a sky train the next morning. They had celebrated, and it had been a very successful first mission.

Alaric had personally grown closer to King Frederick after he went to save his life, even though it turned out the king didn't need any help.

The king even made an offer for Alaric to stay with his nation if Queen Irigia allowed it, but Alaric declined.

Eli asked when they were getting off the train, "Hey man, why didn't you take the king's offer? He was willing to give you anything you wanted!"

Alaric shook his head, "I might've if I was just a basic mercenary, but I have loyalties to Irigia. Besides, the Queen would've never let me out of my officer's obligation, even if the king of another nation personally asked for me."

Eli nodded, understanding his reasoning.

Alaric ordered his squad to take the day off, now that their mission was over. He, however, was going to report to the Queen.
