Sounds Of War

Burt had just come back from talking to the Queen after a heated argument. He came with the warning of Inian returning, but Queen Irigia looked exhausted and said, "I don't have time for him."

So Burt left back towards the academy. His shoulders were slumped as he felt the weight of the world on his shoulders. It didn't take long for him to find himself back at the academy, but it did take him a moment to realize how empty it was. He stopped a teacher passing by, "where did all the students go?"

The teacher replied, "they left on their orders. They could be anywhere on the continent soon; their trains leave around dusk."

Burt felt a pain in his chest, "did they get to say goodbye to their families?!"

The other teacher shook her head, "I'm afraid not. They had to leave immediately. It is a shame."

Burt's eyes widened, and he sprinted out of the academy. He looked at the horizon and noticed the sun going down.
