Burt was casually eating his meal in his classroom. He was looking at books trying to set up for his next class when Leah walked in his door.

"Hello Leah, what can I do for you?"

Leah smiled, "hello Burt, first, I gotta say it's an honor to have you teaching at our academy. You're the most renowned person in Irigia aside from the Queen herself!"

Burt blushed and rubbed the top of his bald head, "uh, thanks? So what do you need?"

Leah became focused, "you were one of the first ones to see bright coins and understand them, right?"

Burt nodded, so Leah continued, "you see, there's this one boy in my class. I've never seen it happen before, but when he tried to use a bright coin, it dulled and faded — becoming unusable."

Burt raised an eyebrow, "what's the boy's name?"

"His name is Alaric."

Burt tensed up when he heard Alaric's name and took a big breath.

"Leah, do you promise to keep everything I tell you a secret?"

Leah thought for a moment before she answered, "yes, I can."
