Want to cut ties

Two days later, Yun Xuan read read the headlines on her phone.

[Man found dead in police custody.]

The news continued to state that his death had been caused by an allergic reaction, he had come into contact with a type of metal that he should not have.

Yun Xuan was not that gullible. It was no coincidence that this man had been detained just two days ago and died two days later. Obviously, someone deliberately killed him and made up all this allergic reaction lie.

Her head was spinning. The only people who knew about that little case were her, Tyler and the mastermind who was incidentally her father.

Since she and Tyler had already found got what they wanted and had no more business with him, did that mean her father did it? Her father was really that kind of person?

"Darling, are you okay?" Tyler asked when he noticed how pale she looked.

"My dad... he...he..."

"What about your father?" He became worried.

She couldn't talk anymore and passed him her phone. He kept quiet for a while and sighed. "You found out."

"I wasn't supposed to find out?" she gave him a puzzled look.

He looked away to avoid her gaze. "I knew you would think that way, so I tried to hide it from you."

Yun Xuan looked at the man before her in confusion. "Didn't you say before that my dad was not a good person? Why are you suddenly speaking up for him?"

"He's indeed not a good person, and likes to play dirty tricks; but this incident might have been a real accident."

However, before he could placate her with this excuse he had come up with, someone sent him more information.

"What happened?" she asked, frightened by his frozen expression.

"Jing Ye's daughter commited suicide by burning charcoal."

"What!"

She was about to say something when her thoughts reshuffled. D*mn! It must have been a set up by her father!

Just because he had failed in forcing Yun Xuan together with Lu Aotian, he decided to take people lives and make it look like accidents and suicide? Those who didn't know might believe it but those who knew him knew that that wasn't the first time he did something of that sort.

Yun Xuan clung onto Tyler's arm and cried. "Help me cut ties with the Yun family. You have to help me. I don't want to be that man's daughter anymore!"

"Calm down." he wiped her tears. "Even if he has killed people, he's still your father; he raised you all these years and he wouldn't hurt you."

If this was before, she might have believed him but she had seen with her own eyes the murderous glint in his eyes. She had heard him swear to kill Wan Jia. Even the way he looked at Lu Aotian that day was the gaze of a bloodthirsty maniac. How could she keep lying to herself that he was harmless?

She couldn't help but wonder; if for such a small reason, that man and his daughter were murdered just like that, how lightly did he take human life? What kind of beast was he? And...

"Why the hell are you standing up for him? He wanted to hurt my friend not too long ago. I might be his next target." she sobbed.

Tyler looked at her silently. He should be happy that this girl was starting to know how dangerous her dear father was. But why did he feel heartbroken instead? Maybe it was because he knew how hurt she was feeling.

========

Still unaware of the current news-or to be strict; thinking that it had nothing to do with her, Wan Jia went about her daily life activities as usual.

Apart from spending time with her darling baby girl and Elder Qian, Lin Lihua had topped up her game in inviting her over.

Her coaxing skills were the best she had ever seen and Wan Jia could only go to avoid her constant making phone calls to convince her.

They had spent the last two days shopping, watching a movie, hitting the beauty parlor and chatting about nothing in particular.

Lin Lihua seemed to be very relaxed around her and shared with her embarassing moments of her childhood and things that weren't too secretive. Within just two days, the girls had grown a tiny little bit closer to each other.

Wan Jia felt that she could trust her but also knew that this might be a tactic to make someone open up, so she did not let down her guard.

[Little Wan, a friend of mine just recommended a new restaurant. Their Shrimp is amazing! Let's go over tomorrow, okay?]

[Little Wan, I like this dress design. Help me decide. Does the red color suit me best?]

[Little Wan, My mother came over and brought lots of tiramisu. Don't you like sweet things? You should come over and eat some.]

[Little Wan this...]

[Little Wan that...]

[Little Wan, I just breathed in oxygen...]

Her phone was exploding so much that Lu Aotian and Little Jia were starting to get jealous.Just replying to this girl's texts was enought to keep her busy through the whole of her free time. Was this really the proud and arrogant Lin Lihua everyone was talking about?

Unknowingly, she had not contacted Yun Xuan for these two days, something that had never happened before.
