23 LIBRARY

I had lost spirit and motivation today. That dream was still disturbed and shocked me. I didn't think the holy maiden would deceived me. I clearly remembered her words.

I couldn't take this issue lightly. She told me to be strong. She wanted me to bring justice to sinister of high living beings. But who was them? I still lacked knowledge about this world.

I need information. I need to know more. Being stupid and innocent were not my choices. I had to move.

After breakfast, I exited the inn. I made the decision to pay a visit at library in north area. I abandoned my first E rank quest again. I considered that knowledge was more important than mere achievement.

I took me 45 minutes to reach library. This was my first time to reach here. Fortunately Cara introduced me all important places in north area including the library. If not maybe I would wasted my time to search endlessly and hesitated the existence of library in this city.

This library offered free entrance to all people without charging a fee. After all, this library was managed by the city council. You can read any book that available here but you can't bring it outside from library building. They put protective spell on all books to prevent it from being stolen. Yeah, who want to steal book? A nerd guy?

The library building was medium size and had two floors. It was surrounded by many buildings. I guessed those were administration and management buildings.

I entered the library and be greeted by two librarians. They stood at front counter who prepared to attend the visitors. I greeted them back and ask something.

"Good morning, miss. Can you show me world's history section?"

"Good morning too mr. That section is on the left back, you will see the history tag on the bookshelves. What's else do you want to know?"

One of the librarians answered me. I believed she wore her white uniform for librarian.

"Is there a book about high living being?"

"Oh, you want to read about demigods? That book is also on history section."

"Thank you for your help. I will go there first."

"You're welcome. Our library is closed before night. So make sure to finish your task before that time."

Then, I walked to the back section. This building was big and it had vast space to store books and tables for guest to read here lesuirely.

I didn't see any people in here except the two librarians at the front. It was still morning and I was the first visitor today at library.

I went to the first bookshelf that had history tag on it. I searched the book which could help me understood about this world.

After five minutes, I picked up two books, 'Introduction to World's History' and 'The mightiest of Half-Deva.'

I sit at at near table and started reading these two books. I immersed myself with high focus and sense to understand the context of books.

I finished both of my reading in about three hours. Fortunately I didn't choose the thick books or I would stayed at the library until night.

From first book, there was many timelines and important events that had happened in the past. So I only focused on one chapter, the beginning of world.

Surprisingly the creation of this world same as the historians and scientists in Earth tried to describe it. The sudden mass explosion from nothingness to existence. The world was created after seven days. The reigns of gods and deities in ancient time before they vanished without reason.

The story and myth of Gaia and Earth was freaking similar. This discovery shocked me to the core and nearly freezed my mind. If we shared history, did this make Gaia was another planet that orbited in solar system, same as Earth.

But I never heard there was another planet in solar system that had been confirmed to have living beings. Among eight planets in solar system, I didn't think any of them was Gaia world.

Most logical theory that I can think of was Gaia world is one of the multiverse. I didn't really know the exact meaning of multiverse but in my definition our world shared many similarities yet so much differences.

I need to hold off this mystery first. It was not good to keep questioning if no one could answer me.

Next, the second book was about the demigods or high living beings as the holy maiden mentioned it before. These demigods were descendents of past gods and deities. They might not inherited the full power from their ancestors but they were still more powerful than normal mortal.

Most races in this world had shared blood with ancient gods. It was not weird as their origins came from those immortals. But not all people had chance to awaken the hidden power inside their blood.

This power can't merely activated by just training, you need to be born with it. Baby which was born with this divine power will be treated as sacred person. Most kingdom will make this said person as their most deadly weapon so they can win each war easily.

Not every years baby was born with divine power. It could took more than 100 years for this rare birth to appear. In every one million person, it was ever lucky to have one demigod among them.

Demigod or as certain regions called them half-deva, had long lifespans thus they could live until 500 years long.

As demigod had been treated like sacred person, this was only special case to human and other race.

Other race like demon, vampire, or beastman treated them as the chosen one. The term might sound like their savior had came to save them but the truth meaning was actually opposite to it.

They believed that the chosen one was their future leader who lead them into glorious dream to conquer and dominate over other race. They want to rule others with fear and suffering.

Each of these race considered themselves as superior race.

Demon should control over human.

Human should fear and obediently follow the vampire's rule.

Beastman was more privileged race compared to human.

All of them showed hostile behavior toward human whom they saw as weak and puny race. They can't accept the truth that the human actually had ruled over this world rather than them.

Among those claimed superior races, only beastman who got divided into two factions. First faction believed they should ruled over human and treated human as their enemy. Second faction believed they should befriended and lived in peaceful with human. Those two factions had clashed for many years for their own philosophy.

So that was why every time a demigod is born among those nasty races, it was mean war for human. Every near two centuries, they would invaded human kingdom. It could be said that human nearly went extinct if not the fact that demigods were also born within kingdom each time before war is launched toward them.

Human saw demigod as sacred person and hero to them who saved them from being wiped out from world.

Evil races saw demigod as savior who responsible to lead them win over human and conquered the world.

From the date this book was written, there was nine demigod that known exist in the world. Five of them were coming from evil races.

Honestly I didn't know if all demigod want to kill me. Obviously the ones from evil races should saw me as their foe. Those five demigods were automatically wanting to kill me.

I was uncertain if demigods from human races were also my enemy or not. That holy maiden said she wanted to help me. Maybe some of them were not evil. But I was still need to be careful around all demigods.

I doubted that I can fight them with just training for a year. I need more than that. I need the ways to become strong and powerful in short time.

If this was like video games, I already grinded my time to kill all monsters to collect experiences and leveled up. Status existed in this world. You can see your level and skills. You can own one or two classes. This world was already like RPG for me.

At least I could saw some light in my hope. I can't get depressed over this matter. I will rise after this.

After I concluded from these two books, I put them back in bookshelf and exited the library. There was still time for today. It was noon right now. Maybe I should took a quest in adventurer guild.
