I thought he said black taught him the spell and it pretty much bottoms out his mana. Though what I meant wasn't the specific spell per se, but the act of attacking and drawing more attention go himself. Either way considering his age and mentality his actions are perfectly understandable. I think the story is going great, just that in the wisdom and grand scheme thinking in terms of his thoughts(not the story) it was a childish/foolish move. Sometimes its better to do nothing at all and be low key
Pull an attack before they got taken down, huh... Well, Jacob's not really special in that regards. If anyone else was aiming to land just a single attack, and prepared for it like he did— then yes, they would've been able to pull it off. So, yeah, that's no because of his system being special or anything.
DaoistSpiritTurtle:I just meant since he's already been asked by multiple groups to come to their places, and considering no one else managed to actually pull off an attack before they got taken down, does it not look odd to pull it off? I'm not saying its a bad scene, its good I'm just talking about how the audience at the tournament and higher-ups would view it. Anyone that saw that would likely be surprised just from him pulling off an attack before her, not including how it played out. All in all I'm just saying that an older/wiser man in his situation might have been more low key but considering his personality it makes perfect sense. In essence I think its a well done scene.
It was cool how he beat her, but honestly it was a bad move. At his current level in the eyes of others at least he should have no chance of victory, by winning or even if he hadn't won but had a close fight he would draw more attention to himself. This should be somewhat intuitive, but with his current level attracting that much attention is highly dangerous. What he did was cool, but also foolish.
