{EP2} CONFRONTATION.

As I was making my way towards the doorway, I was having this unsettling feeling that the person who is at the door might just be the person I least want it to be, and before even I could reach the handle I heard key rattling and knob turning, "welp! now it's confirmed that's, it is her" and the door flung opened.

"You are so dead Silver!" Gold came in yelling,

"Can you at least try not to wake up the whole neighborhood?" I argued, now that she stepped out in the light, I can be pretty sure that she was at a party with her friends, "Party, this late??" I thought to myself if it was me than my father won't allow me to even step out of my schedule for even an hour.

" What's up?" I asked her and she seemed to be taken aback,

"What's up?? u say?..... WHY DID YOU TELL ERICK ABOUT ME??" she raged, "What are you talking about? what happened?" I asked quietly,

" Don't you dare pretend like you don't know what I am talking about!"

"I don't have any idea about what you are screaming about in the middle of the night" I argued back,

"Oh is that so, then tell me didn't you told Erick that I am a contract holder??, did you tell him or not?"

"NO!, why would I?" I was really confused as to why in the middle of the night, she comes in assailing in my room and start confronting me about stuff that I didn't even do. She didn't believe me first, then I explained to her that all I was doing so far is just following my schedule and in between my schedule I didn't even meet Erick even once, Erick was my sister's long time crush, and I get to why she would be mad because Erick's parents were killed during a freak accident which involved a contract holder, from that day onwards Erick has always despised the contract holders, and if someone told him about Gold being one, the first suspicion would me for obvious reasons, for example only a few people know about Gold being a contract holder like me, father and few trusted personnel from our dad's circle, " here, drink it" I offered a glass of water to her, which surprisingly, she took.

"Now, care to elaborate?" I asked her while sitting next to her on the couch, "well, where to start?" she sighed " start from where you are comfortable to start" I replied in a supporting tone.

she looked at me for a second and start describing what happened,

" I had plans today with my friends for a hangout later in the night which then had to be postponed due to Erick" she looked at me, she seems tired to be honest "Yeah... Go on" I encouraged her

"We were supposed to meet in front of the neon alley game store, which was empty when I arrived, at first I thought I was early or they were running late but when I called my friends told me that Erick already canceled the plan, I was shocked and then I called Erick, an-an-and he told me that I lied to him being just a normal blessed one even though I was a contract holder" she places her face in her palms and started to sob,

"so, He somehow came to know about you being a contract holder," I asked while trying to lift her.

" Not only that, he even knew about me being a '3rd division' Aquarius contract holder" she whines, " Wait!.... what! you are a 3rd division now!!!!!" I was so shocked that I almost jump out of the couch, I can feel, my eyes widening, She looked at me and realized that she messed up and that she couldn't hide it anymore, she just gently nodded at me.

"wh-wh-why didn't you told me that earlier??" I was feeling upset,

"well father told me not to" she explained and slowly turning her head away as if trying to avoid my gaze, "why though?" I asked again I can feel myself getting irritated.

She stared at me and she seemed worried that it might hurt me, " go on"

I assure her, " Actually on the day of the upgrade, he visited me and we talked a bit about this and that and somehow topic went on you and he then told me that,"' One doesn't need to know about heights which one can't grasp."' her eyes moved from mine to the window which is rattling due to the sound the of raindrops falling on its glass panes, she seemed troubled, " what else did he say?" I asked again trying to keep the brave act, she spoke without making eye contact this time, she said " he also called you worthless child without power to make a contract....a screwer".

The room went silent for a few minutes, screwer is like slang and offensive words for those without a contract, as you know without a contract you can't use 'powers' or 'blessing' but u still has the 'bless' mark of your respective constellation, there are over 60% people who still to this day can't make a contract with their respective constellation,

and I am one of them and it is highly likely for a child with a background of the contract holders to a have one as well, like my Dad, who is the 2nd division 'Cancer' contractor, my mother was an Aquarius with a power level of the 4th division, and there is me 'Cancer' bless marked unable to make a contract, being unable to make a contract depends on a person's capability to handle [stardust], Stardust is the source of power, for instance like in some movies or anime or manga there is "mana" as the source of power, stardust is somewhat similar to that, there is no explanation to where and why these strange 'power' or things came from, one thing is for sure, they made it possible for current civilization to persevere and flourish once again after the great reset.

Now back to the topic of contract, as by now you have the idea of what a contract is, to put it in simple words my body is not compatible with stardust in the slightest, all I managed to do so far is just having a bless mark, without it, there's not much of a difference between me and old generations of human.

"So what will you do now?...join military forces or join particular task force?" I said while cracking the cramped muteness that befell not a little before.

"what do you mean?" she looked puzzled as if I wasn't supposed to ask that,

"I mean now that you have a 3rd division rank and as the law says "' Anyone with a contract must join military and help kingdom flourish'" doesn't it?" I asked while getting up from the couch and making my way towards the kitchen to pour myself a cup of coffee, Gold still looked puzzled as if she didn't expect me to say such a thing, she stayed on the couch for a couple of secs thinking about something then she stood up and followed me to the kitchen, she puts her hand over my shoulder and softly said: " Do you think that I would go in the arms without you?".

I slightly turned towards her, " what choice do you have, I mean, I can't make a contract, and queen's government won't wait for me ether so....".

she grabbed my arm and flung me towards her, her eyer gleamed excitement "

" what's up with you today??" I tried to snatch my hand back, but she didn't even budge a bit, I guess the contractors are really different.

"hehehe.... not anymore my Lil brother, We do have a way... I heard something interesting while my way back, you don't have to be compared to any screwer anymore, you also can make a contract" she giggled.

Ah, I don't like that, whenever she has a plan, things always go west in the end, and wasn't she here to discuss Erick, did she already forget about him.

Oh lord, I don't want to be involved in this.
