Synopsis

Katie doesn't have a permanent address because the world is her home. She travels for work and she doesn't want to settle in just one place.  She also has no intention of falling in love because it will only prevent her to do the things that she wants. Besides, she doesn't want to be left alone in the end, like what her parents did. But it seems like that notion was about to change when she literally bumped into Colin. Katie is confident that she can pretend to be his girlfriend so well. What she can't do is to stop herself from falling when she started to know him a little bit more. Chapter 1Because of Her

"HERE," wika ni Colin matapos pirmahan ang mga dokumentong ibinigay sa kanya ng sekretarya si Shay.

"Thank you, Sir Colin," tugon ni Shay. Saka nito ibinigay sa kanya ang isang planner. "Ito po ang schedule mo for this week. At ire-remind ko rin po ang meeting niyo with Skyline Builders mamayang alas sais, sa ancestral house po ni Chef Nico."

High School friend ni Colin si Nico. Taga-Maynila ang pamilya ni Nico pero tulad niya ay lumaki ito sa Cebu. Nagkaroon kasi sa Cebu ng branch ang car dealership business ng pamilya nito. Bumalik lang ng Maynila si Nico nang mag-college na ito. Pero kahit lumipat na ito noon sa Maynila ay bumibisita pa rin ito sa Cebu kapag bakasyon.

May business partnership sina Colin at Nico na nagbabalak ipa-renovate ang ancestral house nito sa Pasig para gawing isa pang restaurant. As for Colin, business is his thing. He had a Master's Degree in Business Administration. Mula nang mag-retiro ang kanyang ama ay siya na ang nag-manage ng family business nilang naka-base sa Manila.

Tubong Cebu ang mga magulang ni Colin at may ilan ring silang negosyo doon. His family owns a chain of malls, restaurants and resorts. Ang nakatatandang kapatid niyang si Cliff ang namamahala sa mga negosyo sa Cebu dahil hindi nito kayang iwan ang asawa. As for his youngest sister, Mace, she is allowed to do her own thing. Sa ngayon ay isa itong celebrity stylist at tulad ni Colin ay naka-base ito sa Manila.

"Sige, thank you ulit, Shay," nakangiting wika niya.

"You're welcome, Sir Colin. Anyway, nasa lobby pala si Ma'am Mace."

"Sabihin mo, wala ako."

Pero kakasabi niya pa lang niyon ay bumukas na ang pinto ng opisina at bumungad sa kanya ang bunsong kapatid na naka-pulang tailored suit. Tinanggal nito ang designer shades nito at nginitian si Colin. Napakunot-noo siya kay Mace.

"O to the M to the mother freakin' G! The look on your face says I'm very pretty! Sabi ko na nga bang magugustuhan mo ang outfit ko!" ngiti-ngiting wika nito.

Dumoble ang gatla sa noo ni Colin. Sa mukha niya ba ito talaga nakatingin? Mukhang iba yata ang basa ni Mace sa reaksiyon niya.

"You look pretty today, Ma'am Mace," si Shay.

"I know!" Humagikhik si Mace. "Thanks, Dear."

Tumango lang si Shay at umalis na. Si Mace naman ay agad na naupo sa sofa at maingat pang ipinatong ang Dior bag sa mesa.

"Hindi ka ba hahabulin ng toro dahil sa suot mo?" natatawang tudyo ni Colin nang lapitan ito. Inikot lang nito ang mga mata.

"You're as annoying as ever!"

"Then, why are you here?" Napahalukipkip si Colin.

"Una, magpapalibre ako sa'yo ng lunch. All my friends are in Barcelona right now. Wala akong maaya. Pangalawa, inutusan ako ni Mama na puntahan ka para sabihing huwag kang mawawala sa wedding anniversary nila sa weekend. Nasabi ko naman na sa'yo 'noong nakaraan na ikaw ang best man."

Thirty fifth wedding anniversary ng mga ito at magpapakasal daw muli ang mga ito para sa renewal of vows. Hindi kasi nito nagawa iyon nang mag-silver wedding anniversary ang dalawa dahil nagkaproblema noon sa negosyo at maraming kailangang asikasuhin ang kanyang ama.

"Sabihin mo, si Kuya Cliff na lang. I can't go this week. Marami akong trabaho."

Inismiran lang siya ni Mace at base sa hitsura nito ay alam na nitong nagsisinungaling lang siya.

"May trabaho o umiiwas ka lang dahil alam mong tutuksuhin ka na naman ni Mama sa pag-aasawa?"

Tama si Mace. Wala pa man ay naiiisip na ni Colin na ipapahiya na naman siya ng ina sa mga bisita dahil dismayado itong trenta anyos na siya ay wala pa siyang asawa.

Baka sabihin nitong ikakasal na ito sa ikalawang beses pero si Colin ay hindi man lang nakaka-isa. It's not that he doesn't want to get married. It's just things didn't go the way he planned. Colin glanced at Mace who's obviously studying his reaction.

"Duh?! I'm too young to get married. Gusto ko pa mag-enjoy." Umirap-irap pa sa Mace. With her young age of twenty three, Mace is still enjoying her life travelling the world and attending fashion shows.

"Kaya nga hindi ako pupunta."

"Sure?"

"Yes." Tumayo na si Colin para bumalik sa kanyang desk. Wala siyang mapapala sa kapatid na pumunta lamang doon sa opisina niya para guluhin siya.

"Kahit sabihin ko sa'yong pupunta si Ate Jessica?"

He stopped on his tracks as soon as he heard the name.

Parang may pumiga sa puso ni Colin nang marinig ang pangalang iyon. Natural na lamang sa kanya na may maramdaman tuwing naaalala si Jessica. After all, she's the girl he couldn't forget.
