Chapter 38: Returned Wife (End)

"I hate you!" A young boy yelled at the older man that was clearly Isandro. Some years had passed, and it seemed that the relationship between the two wasn't any better.

Thirteen-year-old Zac walked outside of the estate and down the road, his face red, and he seemed to be crying somewhat. He glanced back at the estate and saw that no one was coming after him.

"Fine, I just won't come back. I'm going to run away."

He did not know where he was, but he was lost for a long time walking on the side of the road.

"Hey, Kid What are you doing out on the side of the road." Said a young woman who stopped her car. The young boy glared at her and then ignored her. "Hey, Kid, where are your parents?" she yelled again this time catching up to him.

"Don't you think your mom or your dad are worried."

"NO! My MOM"S DEAD! My DAD HATES ME FOR KILLING HER." Zac snapped as he yelled at the strange women. "My Mom died because of me" He started to cry.

"….." The young women looked at the heartbroken boy in silence. "Does your dad, say he hates you?" She asked.

"No…"

"Then how do you know?"

"He doesn't, he never wants to be around me."

The young women kneeled and got to the boy's eye level. "You know my mom died when I was born."

"Really?"

"My dad for the longest time couldn't be around me, but that never meant he hated me. He told me when I was old enough, that it hurt, it hurt because I looked like my mom, it hurt because I was not allowed to leave the hospital. And she died in one.

He was in so much pain in here" The young women pointed to her heart. "He didn't want me to see him hurting, he said in front of me he had to be strong because he's my dad."

"Your Mom…."

"My Mom lives in me." She said softly. "That's why my dad was hurting. Because she is always here."

"….."

"Now are you ready to go home?"

He nodded.

"Where do you live?"

"Up the hill"

"You waked that far, my goodness" She said in surprise. "Come on let me take you back."

Zac followed ang got into the young women's car. "Why where you in the hospital?" he asked.

"I was born with a weak heart"

"…."

"So I was always sick, I spent many years in a white room, a lot of the time alone. My weak heart didn't allow my to do anything."

"….."

"You confused, aren't you? I am better now because someone gave me their heart..." The young women stopped for a moment. "I met her, the person who gave me her heart, she was also sick. But she was nice. She talked to me, told me stories about the outside. My world was only ever in the white room, but, for the first time it got bigger. I started to hope and then I did.

I felt grass for the first time, I felt the sun hit my skin, I could read books without ever having to worry about my heart breaking down. I went hiking and was able to breath the air of the trees.

For that I could never be happier." The women started to tremble; her tears started to fall. "But I always remember that, everything I could finally gain was at the coast of a really kind person."

Zac patted her back with a worried expression.

"Is this it?" The young women said pulling into the gate and stopping at the entrance.

Zac looked at the person the front door of his house, his father's solemn expression. He got out and ran up the steps.

The young women also got out and was about to say goodbye to Zac. The wind blow roughing her blonde hair and the sun's glare covered some of Isandro's face.

When she finally got a good look at him, time seemed to stop for her, her heart skipped a beat.

The moment they met, and the start of their Journey. Fate sure works in Mysterious ways.
