After losing her glasses running into billionaire playboy and astronomy enthusiast Yi Hai, Ru Shi feels as screwed as screwed gets. She just can't seem to cut a break especially when Yi Hai refuses to give back her glasses leaving her almost blind. she thinks he is insane but Yi Hai just wants someone who can see beyond his looks ,fame and fortune (first world problems...) , someone who can see the ordinary guy beyond all of that and thanks to a shooting star he believes Ru Shi is the one who can do that and he won't give her glasses back until she does now Ru Shi has to rely on her other senses to understand her captor but will hearing, smell, taste and touch be enough? P.S I suck at descriptions so please don't mind ok thank you!
It had been one of those days... you know the type that leaves you wondering why you even bothered to get out of bed that morning, well thats how Ru Shi felt as she wandered through the bushes on hands and knees, cursing herself for the millionth time for not getting contacts.
"First thing tomorrow," she mumbled as she hiked up her skirt in a futile attempt to protect it from the mud, " no more glasses," she whispered her resolve to no one as her long fingers gingerly searched for the feel of the Dior designer spectacles,
"They didn't really compliment me anyway, so good riddance."
She squinted at the mud and grass-covered floor her eyes straining to note any detail but all she saw was a blurry mess of browns and greens,
// It kind of matches your love life//
an annoying voice went on in her mind she tried to ignore the voice but it was really pointless the bitch talked when she wanted to talk.
"Why am I even trying?" she groaned aloud,
//To do what, find your glasses? that's an easy one because you're blind as a bat without them and it was your smart idea to cut through the park and now you can't get home you idiot, but if you're talking about that disaster you call dating I tried to warn you that the guy was a jackass and that it was a really bad idea but you didn't listen to me as usual and if you mean trying to ignore me good-luck with that, honey, you're stuck with me,//
Her inner child said to her, although to be honest, she was more of a brat who told her off on everything! Or at least that's how Ru Shi felt as she face-palmed at the memory of what had to be the worst date ever...
// great// the brat said //now you've got mud all over your face to go with that jungle lunatic look your rocking today, which is totally amazing by the way...it's a wonder you suck at dating guys with your cutting edge fashion sense, I mean wow, just amazing.//
She could almost picture the sarcastic clapping...
Ru Shi sighed wiping the mud off of her heart-shaped face with her coat sleeve ruining the expensive blue silk material but she'd freak over that later, " I suck at the dating thing because guys only want one thing from me which I am saving for someone special, who deserves it and hey you're the one who keeps picking losers for me."
//No you pick the losers and I scream 'NOOOOO!!!!' but you go out with them anyway.//
The little voice chided.
Ru Shi groaned she didn't have time to argue with the little demon, she had to get back to the box like apartment she called home,
"it's getting dark." she realized as her cat eyes took in the gradual changes of the evening sky she could make out a blurry mess of purple bleeding into orange, if she had better vision she would have noted the few stars already shining; signalling nightfall had already arrived, so squaring her shoulders she closed her eyes and listened to her heart it sounded cheesy but whenever she did she felt a calm spread over her and warm tingles spread around her body, "East," she felt something whisper to her as she opened her eyes and turning away from the setting sun she began walking , You idiot listen to me, I'm your mind I have eyes that have seen GPS and I say you're going the wrong way! She hummed a cheerful tune her soft voice being carried by the night breeze ignoring the annoying voice.
//Okay fine, so when we're dead in the woods somewhere, I just want you to know I completely blame you!//
She shut up the brat and carried on her not so merry way if her heartfelt it was right; then it damn it!
It was right even if she was going in the opposite direction from the town into even more forest... she thought with a gulp it had never steered her wrong before and with her pathetic vision she needed all the help she could get.
