Chapter 62: Superman, finally home.

When he arrived in his apartment through the roof, He found Laura in the kitchen looking serious with a frown in her face. With a cooking book in one hand and a kitchen knife in another.

It smelled like grilled chicken...

"The chicken is probably slightly burnt." Kevin thought as he chuckled.

Only then did Laura notice that Kevin had returned.

"You're back!" She said happily but as she saw that he was looking towards the oven where the chicken was, she lost her composure.

"No don't look, this is just training, you can't eat this!" She hurriedly said as she stood in front of the oven. Not letting him see her food.

Usually Kevin didn't return until late, sometimes he didn't even return for a few days. So she had taken it upon herself that she wanted to learn things she never had the chance to, such as cooking and taking care of her home.

She always wanted to have a home, so for her being a traditional woman with a house to take care of and kids to teach mundane things had always been nothing but a pipe dream.

So for her, being a woman that can cook and clean, wasn't something to be looked down upon, it was so mundane that she wanted it more than ever.

So while Kevin was away she tried to learn as much as she could, so she could surprise him one day.

But unexpectedly Kevin had returned early.

"It smells great, why can't I have a taste?" Kevin said with a sad face.

"No tasting the food!" She said adamantly.

"Then maybe I should taste you?" Kevin said with a smirk as he moved towards her, she was very cute with her apron on.

"Ching!" was heard as she pointed her claws towards him, with a very serious expression.

Kevin stood still, looking awkward...

"okej I give up!" He said nervously, even though she couldn't hurt him, whenever she got serious, his life would get serious as well.

"That's better, go take a shower or something, I'll be done soon." She said as she turned around to keep making food.

"How long have you been learning to cook, and what do you do with the food?" He asked as he started to leave the room.

"Since I moved here, I fed the homeless cats with the food." She said as she continued working.

Kevin almost fell down, she feeds the cats but not him? Felt like he got scammed. She was so cute and docile before but now that she moved in she became so hardcore.

"Right, after you're done, can you come to the roof. I want to show you something." Kevin said as he went out.

Kevin sat on one of the chairs on the roof, enjoying a sunbath while waiting for Laura.

Usually, he always had one ear listening for trouble around the globe, but lately he has decreased his listening without even noticing.

Right now he was just enjoying the moment and he found himself doing that more and more since the defeat of Ultron.

He had realised many things as he grew as Kevin.

Laura came up and found Kevin basking in the sun. Seeing him shirtless always made her feel like she was dating some supermodel.

She went up to him smiling.

Kevin hadn't even noticed her arrival until she shadowed him from the sun, only then did he open his eyes and see her in her apron, standing right above him smiling.

"Strangely enough, it gets brighter when you stand in front of me, compared to the sun." He said with a smirk.

"Strangely enough, you've become very smooth with your tongue, don't tell me you've been flirting with other women?" She asked sceptically.

"No way... you're enough for me!" He said nervously as he sat up and dragged her down towards him.

He rested on his chair with Laura in his arms.

"I might just hold you beside me forever." He said.

She slightly fought back but couldn't release herself from him.

"So I have no choice in the matter?" She asked teasingly.

"No you don't." Kevin said with a bright smile as he picked up her hand, and slowly put a ring on her finger.

She was very startled. 'Is he proposing?' She couldn't help but to be confused, Kevin simply said that he will keep her beside him forever and put a ring on her finger... usually one asks so she isn't completely sure what he intends with this.

Seeing her confused look he smiled brightly.

"Don't you want to be my wife?" Kevin asked.

"Y-you, No! I mean Yes! The answers Yes!" She started stuttering in confusion before she answered and hugged him in bliss.

While hugging him she felt the air getting colder so she looked around and found that he had carried her to the sky. Looking down at New York she found it looking very small.

She turned towards him and kissed him.

"Should we share this news with our family as well?" He asked with a smile.

"Our?" She asked.

"They will be your mother, father, brother and sister in law, so family." He said in a smile.

She also smiled very brightly as tears started falling down her cheeks.

By the time she had hugged him and kissed him many times, she had noticed that they had arrived above the Collins farm.

As they landed they went into the house.

"Mom, Dad, were back!" Kevin shouted as he walked inside.

But what he found inside felt like it wasn't such a good idea to involve Laura in his family too much.

Mama bear and Papa bear stood with you light sabers in their hands, ready to fight each other.

"What's going on.." Kevin asked.

"Son, your mom and I had our first fight." Papa bear said seriously as he put away the alien mask he had on.

"What's going on?" Kevin finally asked not really wanting to know, but then again, he had never seen these two fight before, so it could be something very serious.
