Chapter 39: Fire fist Johnny

Superman landed in front of the Baxter building and before he could walk inside, Johnny stepped out.

"Superman you came!" Johnny said pleasantly surprised.

He wore a fantastic four suit, except that it was red with yellow linings. The coloring was similar to the flash.

"It suits you!" Superman said hinting at his new suit.

""Thanks, Reed wanted to go with blue, but I was adamant that red and yellow is the best colour? I'm going for a fly, wanna race?" He said as he suddenly flew upwards.

Superman just smiled and followed him.

Johnny was slow, slightly faster than a plane, and his control was bad, almost crashing multiple times, but he had fun flying. It reminded Superman of his own first flight at superspeed above the clouds.

When they reached high altitudes johnny started to go all out, reaching supersonic speeds. Superman flew by his side enjoying the flight.

When they had flown far away from the nearest city, they came across a great flame that burst from the ground, reaching the height of 100 meters.

Both Superman and Johnny slowed down.

"It seems like there is a battle down there, let's take a look." Superman said as they flew down.

They found a redheaded woman in a yellow suit with Red boots and red gloves. She had flames bursting from her hair, fists and feet.

She was breathing heavily and was on her knees, tired and hurt.

In front of her, was two men, they seemed to be on the same side. One of the men was totally burned to a crisp, but he seemed alive, and his skin was regenerating.

While the other man seemed perfectly fine. He wore a butler-like suit, and had a cane in one hand. He also had very long sideburns.

'Is that the Wolverine regenerating? I don't recognize the man with the sideburns and cane. As for her, I have no idea who she is, but if she attacked Wolverine, she must be the bad guy!' Superman thought, but he didn't act just yet.

As for those who were already here, they just saw two men land between them, straight from the skies.

One of them is a burning man with flames that actually raised the temperature in the whole area, his flames seemed very dangerous.

As for the other man, a household name in, not only the US, but all over the globe. Superman.

"Hey, ganging up on a lady, what did your parents teach you?" Johnny remarked.

"Johnny we don't know who is the villain here, in fact, we don't know if there is even a bad guy, don't assume a side just because you find someone pretty." Superman said.

"That's right, so mind explaining to us what's going on?" Johnny continued asking the people here.

"Superman, nice to finally meet you. But this is a private matter, could you not mind us and be on your way?" The man with a cane just smirked slightly while talking politely to superman, ignoring the flameboy.

"Don't listen to him, they are the ones to suddenly attack me!" She said with anger.

"Sorry, but I'm really bad at not sticking my nose in others businesses." Superman said to the man with a cane, as he noticed that the burnt man started to heal enough to see some of his characteristics.

'Blonde? Claws from the fingertips? Isn't this Sabertooth, then she's probably the good one.' Superman thought.

"Would you mind explaining what's going on?" Superman asked her calmly, to somewhat comfort her.

"I quit the X-Men, so they took their chance at attacking me when I no longer had any back up." She said bitterly.

"Then from now on you have the backup from the Avengers!" Superman said while turning his head towards the two other. Hinting to them to back off.

"That leaves us no other choice!" the man with the cane said, he was quite excited at the idea of fighting someone like Superman. His own powers worked the best when his enemies were stronger.

"He's Sebastian Shaw, he has the ability to absorb all kinds of energy and then release it." The yellow dressed girl said, afraid that Sebastian's powers would counter Supermans.

"Don't worry about it, Johnny help her take care of that man!" Superman said as the other guy had healed and was ready to attack as well.

"So what's your name?" Johnny asked as he shot a fist of fire towards the healing man, but his senses were really good as he dodged out of the way.

"You can call me Firestar!" She said as she got ready for another round.

"Superman, what an honor to meet you in battle." Sebastian said, quite confident in his abilities.

"Many people have had the same thought as you, until the battle actually began." Superman said.

"We'll see about that." Sebastian answered still confidently as before. He was waiting for Superman to make the first move, even though he had accumulated energy from the previous fight with Firestar. He was excited to see what height Superman can take him.

Superman just appeared behind Sebastian as if he had teleported, and took him by his clothes before throwing him outside of the atmosphere.

Superman had come to like this move a lot. He didn't have to use his strength as he was afraid to accidentally destroy the planet, he could simply take all matter to space and let nature take its course.

Superman flew upwards towards Sebastian, wanting to see how well he was doing.

Sebastian was holding his breath, completely blue in his face. As he saw Superman appear in space as well, with ease and a smile on his lips, he understood what superman had meant with his warning before.

Many people were confident against Superman, in the end they were hopelessly weak against him.

As he was passing out, Superman took him down to earth, to the desert.

'His cockiness annoyed me, let's teach him a lesson.' Superman thought.

Supermans boots touched the ground as he landed, with Sebastian in his hands, and he simply threw Sebastian in the sand, creating a small explosion of sand. Sebastian simply stood up smiling.

"Superman, why don't you physically assault me if you're so confident." He said with a smirk, he was waiting for the moment to release all of the energy that had accumulated.

Superman arrived in front of him and gave him a punch that sent him hundreds of meters to the sky, and he fell down in the sand again.

"Sure, I've got time to waste, let's see what you can do." Superman gave him the pleasure and punched him.

"This amount of energy should be enough to send him to the afterlife!" Sebastian thought, but he couldn't help the very big grin from escaping his lips.

Superman saw that Sebastian was ready to use whatever he had, so he simply walked up towards Sebastian as Sebastian punched Superman's face.
