#6 Assassinating and Growth in strength

Ren was walking towards second camp and under guidance of Shadow he got there quickly thanks to evading any obstacles.

'Didn't manage to get much from that leader, only that they were bandits and lived by capturing people then selling them as a slaves. I don't really get it... if you have no valuable information why not just say it? Guess his pride got to him.'

Ren shook his head and got rid off those thoughts. He needed to concentrate on task at hand.

Sun was already setting down he just needed information on how many people are there and he could wait peacefully for nightfall.

For this task he used Shadow since he wanted to train him in scouting. After while Shadow came back and sat on his shoulder like usually.

Shadow: '10 humans....tents too'

'So only 10 people? Let's wait till night and get it over with.'

After 3 hours of experimenting with his Death energy, It was dark and only torches of camp could be seen. Of course Ren could see better at night thanks to Death energy enhancing his senses + having it stored in his eyes helped a little. There were few primitive traps around entire camp but Ren evaded all of them thanks to his small night vision. He got extremely close to camp and could see only 3 guards.

'How can they have only 3 guards? They must really have faith in their traps'

Ren shook his head and started moving closer to them. With help of his Death energy he could also blend easily with shadows. When he got close enough he threw one dagger to neck of one of the guards and before he could drop to the ground he quickly slit throat to other 2 and immediately caught falling body of third one who got dagger in his neck.

Thanks to his quick actions no one could hear a sound. This part was hardest and now he could quietly kill everyone who sleep. He get it over with pretty fast and only asked some questions last surviving member of camp after he got some informations about them he slit his throat and began searching their camp.

'Since their weapons are in pretty good shape and they being deserters from there ought to be some gold I could use and weapons of course.'

After taking few better looking weapons like saber and daggers he discarded his old ones.

'You were good company for last 2 years'

Ren collected all gold he could find and went back to his base. In the end he never met with "big beast" Shadow warned him about. When he came back he was too lazy to do anything so he just went to sleep.

After waking up in the morning he immediately saw his new weapons and couldn't help himself to grin.

--------TIME SKIP, 2 YEARS--------

If one was to be in deeper parts of forest he/she would be able to see a man fighting against 8 meters tall danger beast...well...more like kid torturing pathetic danger beast. Yes this was Ren who already was 10 years old "fighting" Medium-Class 2 Danger beast. He was currently trying his new techniques he created in those 2 years.

First was ability with which he could coat blade with his Death energy. Thanks to this ability he was able to fight even with wooden sword against danger beasts. Of course the sword would break after few minutes from pressure. Also it seemed that Scythe is best weapon to coat with Death energy, unfortunately he just had 1 Scythe from said village he stole from. He would need to go to Tatsumi's village and order good quality one. And since their village will have some troubles with money he could use it to his own advantage and order it for smaller price. He already had around 50 gold thanks to taking care of those 2 camps from 2 years ago.

(Typical coin system: 100 copper = 1 silver and 100 silver = 1 gold)

(His trump card 2 years ago) Second was ability to create spear of Death energy that he could use as a weapon or throwing weapon. Ren himself didn't favor spears much so he only used them as a throwing weapon plus they had enormous penetrating power so it was more suited to use them this way. He named this ability simply "Death spear" or "Spear of death"

And third ability he already had was enhancing his senses plus slowing time. If we will speak about his improvement in this ability with his senses, he could already notice someone 50 meters from him and when he slowed time he could see it already 20% slower. (If some of you are wondering why he can't train his eyes like in past it is because he already is training them so any other training is useless and with Death energy this training's potential is much higher.)

After trying all of his abilities on Danger beast he killed it in 1 swift movement of his saber coated in Death energy.

He decided to go back to his "base" and was thinking while walking there.

'Coating is pretty strong although it doesn't have penetration power like those spears but it still enhance weapon sharpness and durability' (except weapons that are destroyed after few minutes of using by sheer pressure of Death energy)

'Death spears are really strong but harder to use and aim while throwing. In fight I had to aim for it's legs not to instantly kill it with those spears. They are definitely still my trump card'

'As for my senses they are being enhanced every day I can easily feel it. I didn't use slowed time much since I didn't meet anyone faster than me and 8 meters tall beasts will hardly be faster than me.'

When he stopped with his thoughts he already noticed that he arrived at his base. So he decided to just meditate and improve his control over Death energy.

I would like to ask you if I should make some other events or just skip those 5 years and make 1 more chapter about his powers before he meet Tatsumi.

Also what kind of energy should he master next? I have some plans but they can be arranged differently.

Water energy - probably enhance regenerative ability of body, better regeneration of organs if they get damaged

Fire energy - better resistance against fire, it will be more of offensive ability so less passives

Earth energy - increases defense against blunt and piercing damage, no other ideas (should be more of passive than offensive

Wind energy - better resistance against cold, like fire, more of offensive just that Fire will be of massive destruction and Wind more of assassin's abilities and also against small groups of people.

Holy energy - ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Idk why I even added it here but it should be more of healing and sh*t like that.

PLOT - Should I make MC cooperate with Night Raid or Jaegers or just to make him stay still and watch and sometimes help in both sides?

TEIGU - I really don't know what Teigu to give to MC since he is already powerful and every energy will enhance different weapon. I can also just make MC hate Teigu, since Teigu enhance your power and he will think of it as a shortcut or something like that. Of course he won't hate Esdeath's Teigu since she had to suffer to master it.

Make your suggestions there are simply too many ways I could write story.
