ZONED how it all began

How did this happen. How did Jack come along my side. Well, he is me and I am him, but in a different manner.

Jack was born into the world of humans, known as the galactic zone. But, he wasn't a baby or toddler, and he didn't know how he got into the world either. He woke up lying on the ground, in the middle of the woods, a bright glorious, green woods. There were animals roaming around the forest floor, birds singing in the air, the air smelled so fresh. Jack sat up and saw a hill in the distance, past it was the sky, he couldn't see what was beyond that point, so he got curious and started walking towards the hill.

He made it, his legs were turning nearly into jello from the long walk. He got up to the hill and sat down, he looked up and down the hill. There was a beautiful city, it was small but he could hear loud music, exciting as it sounded jack started nodding his head back and forth to the beat of drums playing. He closed his eyes and started thinking

How did I get here… why am I here…

Hours passed by and the sun was setting, jack stilled stared at the city and noticed something at the bottom of the hill. A wall made of brick and stone, the walls were so sandy and old that it was turning pale and yellow. Inside the walls were buildings, big and small with the same old brick and stone. All of a sudden he saw people walking around inside the walls and coming in and out of the buildings, some people were exploring and others were following a certain person who would stop them and start blabbering about...something. the people seemed so focused and curious, jack was tempted to go explore the strange buildings too. That's what he did. He stood up and started walking down the hill, it was hard, there were small cliffs and small rocks making him slip. He got halfway down and already saw something new, dogs? Wolves? Staring directly at him, he stop and stared back at the animals, the animals started growling and hunched and walked backwards and ran out of site. He stood there for a second thinking he should follow the animals, but he looked back at the building he was headed for and walked there instead.

Jack made it down the hills and in front of him was the wall. He Noticed more people walking to the other side of the walls and followed them, they lead him to an opening allowing himself in the walls. He stepped inside and looked around and saw children his age wearing clothes with black and white stripes, they were laughing and chasing each other and ran behind these strange metal bars and yelled 'help!..' jack watched them and walked towards the kid that was inside the bars, he saw a way in inside the bars and it was quite big to escape them. Why does that kid need help when it can already get out?. Jack reached his hand out for the kid and the kid looked up at him, it grabbed his hands and jack pulled it out of the bars. It said words jack has never heard of… but it smiled and didn't let go of his hand. Jack observed the kid, it had long black hair and hazel eyes, its voice was high pitched, but jack knew then.. it was girl. Deep down inside him, something warm lit up and rises to his chest, his heart started thumping loud and hard, it felt good and made him smile back at the girl. She then walked and lead jack to another opening that lead him outside, but outside he saw the buildings. He made it at last, now he can explore, but before he could explore the girl squeezed his hand and called out more words jack never heard of but saw other kids coming after her and stopped and waited in front of her. Jack looked at all of them, there were boys and girls waiting for something ?. 'ready' the girl said, holding Jack's hand, he nodded but didnt know what he was ready for. Before he could guess, she let go of his hand and started running to the first building closest to her and the others followed her, he thought maybe he needed to follow her too. He ran inside the building the girl ran into and couldn't see a thing. He heard laughter in front of him and something grabbed his hand, he yelped in shock, then he heard a calm voice and recognized that voice for it was the girl. She lead him to a small area of the building where there was a ginormous hole that outside of it you could see the hill that he was on before, and a big statue of sorts that was glowing bright into the night sky. It was pretty. Then all of a sudden lights turned on inside the building and jack saw more of those metal bars, except they were everywhere and each one had a bed inside, but its dark inside them. Each one did not have an opening like the one he saw, all the others had doors which was the one way in and had a lock. Some were bars and some were doors, it almost looked sad to be in there and just seeing each one that was all rusty and turning green just gave him an unsettling feeling, but being with the kids made him feel safe. The girl patted his shoulder and he turned around and the girl said ' I'm braelynn, who are you?' she asked smiling. At least jack could understand those words.

' I'm Jack' braelynn smiled thoughtfully which soothed jack.. for some reason. 'where are your parents?'

She asked, jack widened his eyes, not knowing how he understood those words for he never heard those words either. ' I…. I don't… know' he really didn't know, because he didn't know how he got here in the first place.

'well that's weird because we all have parents, you know?' she said to him, he didn't respond to her, he slowly looked down to his hands… he noticed something different about him compared to the other kids, he saw his feet, but the others were wearing some weird clothes over their feet. 'hey, i just realized your eyes, they look funny, almost like a cat' she said and giggled the others looked at his eyes too and laughed with her. `they do?' jack said, he actually didn't know what he looked like and now got curious. Braelynn looked at jack for a second, confused she took his hand and brought him into another building that looked less old, and all of a sudden she and the others started taking off their clothes and below them were other clothes, they were different the kids aren't matching anymore, they didn't wear the black and white stripes anymore. Braelynn pointed at some weird object, jack looked at it and he could see braelynn on it, so he walked over to it…

He could also see himself on the object. Jack looked at the object in shock, he's never seen some mysterious magic before, it was like looking at a reflection of himself. He touched his face and mouth and nose, he was picking at his face which made all the other kids made a funny look at him.

' have you never seen a mirror before?' one of the kids asked laughing. Jack was still fascinated by the reflection and he saw himself and what he was wearing, a white T-shirt and black shorts and then he noticed his eyes, they were a bright orange and braelynn was right, his pupil did look somewhat like a cats would, a diamond shaped pupil. He looked back at the kids and they all looked back at him ' where are you from?' jack didn't know how to respond to that but also know one knew him either so he might as well make friends

'I came from the hills' he said, all the kids looked at him confused. 'you mean where the cross is?' one kid asked, 'the cross?' jack asked confused. ' yeah the one on the hill' jack didn't know the statue had a name. But he nodded yes. Then the room became silent. 'well what do we do now?' a kid said, all the other kids shrugged ' well I think I need to get back to my daddy' one kid said and all the kids looked sad and all said aw~ but before anything else happened there people coming out of nowhere walked over to the kids

'its time to go home!' they all said and all the kids agreed and said goodbye to one another. That must be their parents. Jack watched them as some walked out but one parent stopped and looked up at jack, it gasped and pulled their kid close to them, it was braelynn. Was the parent protecting her?

'h-hey! It's that kid! The one who walked here from the hills!' the parent yelled and then more and more people came into the building, some shocked some curious. It was scaring jack, people started walking towards him and he started stepping back more and more until he hit a wall. All the people yelling and shouting come here little boy! Where are your parents?!

Someone grab him! And all of a sudden someone yanked him by the arm and he screamed in shock, the person dragged him outside of the building and outside of the walls, but jack was trying to break loose from the person's grip from holding onto his arm. When they went outside there were big metal objects that were flashing red and blue and the person dragged him to one of the flashy objects. A big tall man was standing in front of one, and grabbed jack and threw him to the ground harshly, jack yelped again from the pain from being thrown to the ground, the tall man pushed his head towards the ground and another man wrapped Jack's arms behind his back, it hurt but then jack heard a scream and He looked over and saw many, many people standing and watching him and the scream got louder and he saw braelynn in the crowd jumping up and down, she looked terrified, and almost looked like she was reaching for him. It made jack sad to see his friend reach for him, and then one of the tall men pulled Jack's hair and forced jack to stand up, jack couldn't move his arms, there was something holding them together. All of sudden the crowd got louder and louder yelling rude words and jack could feel negativity running through the air, it made him really sad. Then, something ran down his cheeks, something warm and… salty? He was crying. He kept crying and for some odd reason the crowd was getting more quieter and quieter, til it became silent. Jack could then hear himself cry, but the tall men kicked him and jack fell to the ground, he was confused and getting mad. Why are they doing this to me? He thought. What did I do wrong? I don't even know why I'm here!

He started huffing and huffing for his chest swelling up with anger, he didn't like these people, he didn't like what they were doing. He clenched his fist trying to control this strange anger he hasn't felt before.. but it was to late. A red orange light burst from his back to his arms, to his hands, from his mouth, it felt warm and was getting brighter and brighter… and hotter. It started to hurt and he started moving in such weird positions and started jerking back and forth, he wanted the pain to stop. Then he screamed so loud, it scared the crowd too, they all screamed and the light from his mouth dripped to the ground, it was flames. The more he screamed and strangled the more the pain went away, the flames got bigger and bigger. He kept this behavior up until he got tired to even move anymore, he stopped moving and layed there, heaving, he was so tired.

Minutes past, and he felt so tired from all that commotion. He moved his hands and realized they weren't trapped anymore, but there were red Mark's covering his wrists, they were sore, but he ignored it. Jack sat up and looked around to see it was very, very dark. No sounds, no lights, everyone was gone. Jack got up and got a strange feeling, seeing that braelynn was gone.

He misses her.
