Chapter 2: Plans

The food was delicious as ever, her sister and her boyfriend were very good chefs and "The Unicorn Kitchen" served very delicious food.

"So how's the restaurant going Martha?" Her father asked.

"It's going well dad," came the reply.

"And what about you Kevin? Are you the one who always cooks here?"

"No uncle, you see, I'm the executive chef here so I just oversee the quality and such. I have people who work under me you see. But I especially cooked for you tonight uncle," her sisters boyfriend replied.

"Delicious. Good job," their father complimented.

Martha seemed very enthusiastic, "Hey Dina, so I already hired an interior designer for the coffee shop, and preordered some equipment!"

'Woah, woah, slow down sister, we haven't even talked much about it yet,' Dina thought.

Martha continued, "So this is the latest coffee machine, it has like 10 different functions and can make a cappuccino or whatever with just one button! It's the first one I found and it's amazing! It's very expensive but the sellers said that-"

Dina had to interrupt, "Wait, Martha, we should check out other types of coffee machines first, there might even be cheaper ones that have better functions and-"

"I asked dad and he already paid the down payment of $1000 for it and I don't think they give refunds."

Dina looked at Martha in disbelief.

"Don't worry, I'm sure it will turn out great!"

Where did all this confidence come from? Dina wondered. Dina looked at her father. They didn't even have a proper plan yet, how could he give her money for it already?

"Dad, she doesn't even drink coffee, I don't think it was a very good move to go with that coffee machine when there are so much to choose from. Maybe it's better if we plan things out propely first before we go and buy anything."

"Stop attacking your sister Dina," her father without even looking up.

'Unbelievable,' she thought. She looked at Martha and asked, "So when are we meeting the interior designers?"

"Oh, don't worry about it, you still have a job so Kevin and I will talk to them."

'Does she want me in or not?', Dina wondered. No one ever did listen to her properly. "I'm sorry that I am still unable to leave my job, but I will do what I can help so if the meeting is on the weekend I'd really like to join too."

"The meeting is tomorrow though," Kevin informed.

"Don't worry sweetie, I'll join the meeting too," her mom chimed in.

Dina gave up. She had always wanted to make a restaurant together but as Martha and Kevin became a couple, then business partners, that dream became their dream. Though their father had to back them up financially.

'Alright, just leave me out again then, just like in The Unicorn Kitchen.' Dina thought.
