Fu Yixiao had lost the sense of time for she couldn't tell the numbers she had spent surviving in the jungle. The giant trees were the sky that void of time. Be it day or night, that sky wouldn't change. Its roots that hugging the ground were beasts that ended many lives; be it animals or humans, They were all victims to its ruthless sharp fang. She had seen them all eaten by it, leaving their blood splattered everywhere, fertilizing the tree.
Everything was dangerous here and Fu Yixiao was trying to survive from them all. So, how many days had it been? or weeks, months? She had no idea.
However, those unknown numbers trained her to become an expert in surviving. Hiding, killing and hiding again. Like right now, she was hiding inside a cave located underground.
On the ground, she could hear a careful, precisely planned footsteps from her chaser. That person had been chasing her since the first day she woken up in the jungle. At first, there were five of them but right now, there was only one because the rest have met their end under her hand.
Thankfully, she hadn't wasted the three years training under Yun Xi's supervision. Right now she was utilizing all the skills that she had learned.
Fu Yixiao tightened her grip on the Tommy Gun she stole from one of her chasers. It was the best survival weapon she had at the moment apart from the heavy-duty utility knife she had inside her pocket.
She closed her eyes in order to focus and within seconds she knew that her chaser had reached the hole she entered earlier. Then, her nose caught a strong smell of blood which intensified as the clock ticks. 'Good,' she thought for that was exactly what she wanted. It was the perfect timing for her to get rid of that man.
The last man was the most difficult to deal with, for he was too vigilant that he made almost no mistakes, giving her no opportunity to get rid of him. Fu Yixiao had to take a bullet from him and pretend to be almost out of breath before luring him to the place she was hiding at the moment.
Perhaps, the man only weakness was him killing too much that Fu Yixiao knew whenever the man was nearby just from his the smell emanated from his body: The smell of blood.
Fu Yixiao took a sniff before leaped into the hole she had dug barehandedly earlier and covered herself with dirt. Her Tommy Gun was good for shorter range and this moment was her perfect chance. If she messed up, she would die. She squinted her eyes to see the whole area better. The darkness was the biggest flaw in her plan but she knew of the man's figure and shooting him right in his heart was easy for her.
Fu Yixiao counted the time and for the first three seconds, there was already bullets flying from the opposite direction. Ten minutes and the man wasn't within her sight still. That made her worried about the possibility of the man leaving. She almost left the hole when a blurry figure appeared.
She wanted to scream in joy but knowing that her life was in danger, she could only smirked. Fu Yixiao calmed herself before regaining her focus. Her full attention was on the man figure which seemed to appear right before her eyes. That was exactly the moment she needed to pull the trigger. And she did without hesitation.
Despite the darkness, she clearly saw the man's eyes were looking straight at her direction before collapsing on the ground. His shocked and horrified expressions were planted in Fu Yixiao's mind, who was now sighing in relief after confirming that the man was already dead.
Fu Yixiao switched on her flashlight to see the man's belongings inside the bag he carried with him. She took everything that was needed for survival and some canned foods that she desperately needed. Eating animals' meat was delicious but it took times to hunt and cooked them. In the state she was in, leisure meant death.
Among his belongings was a map she believed was useful. She studied it only to find out that it was the map of the jungle she was in. At the center of the map was marked with an X, which prompted her instinct to act up.
That was it! That was the place where she could find all the answers to her questions.
Except that she had no idea where in the map was her location at the moment. She looked for a possible similarity to the physical surrounding and noticed that there was only one cave pointed on the map. She was certain that was her location.
However, judging from the distance it would take her days to reach the center and with dangers everywhere she could only hypnotize herself that she would make it. Still, deep down she cared about nothing. If killing was required then being merciful was the least she would do. To kill, she wouldn't hesitate as long as she reached her destination.
She left the cave after regaining her energy and ensuring that she had enough tools to survive. As soon as she reentered the battlefield, she ran and ran, defying the lack of oxygen to fuel her respiratory system. She only took a quick break when she felt like dying and ran again till she reached her destination which located below the hill she was now standing on.
Fu Yixiao crouched down behind a big rock to oversee the surrounding of the buildings laid in front of her eyes. The buildings resembled big boxes which painted in white. The lack of creativity made the whole area seemed cold and creepy.
Right at the entrance was a newly written signboard: The Sacrificial Building. Fu Yixiao frowned after reading the signboard. It sent chills down her spine for she felt exactly like a sacrificial lamb that was thrown into the jungle without her consent.
Fu Ya was a kind, sweet girl that loves adventures and knowledge. She was loved by her parents and pampered by the whole clan.
On the other hand, we have Fu Yixiao; an abused child which became a 'dangerous' girl once she reached Tu Island. Combine both of their personalities and what would we get...? hehe
