(The inevitable)

The highlight of my day is lunch time when I sit with my friends and can talk and joke with them but right now, I'm just sitting and picking on my food when someone sits across me. Christy nudges me, I frown at her when she rolls her eyes and nudges me again as if asking me to look and when I do. My eyes collide with the strike green that hold enthusiasm. It's like my eyes have their own mind because now I'm staring at his lips. They are pink and as I stare, they slowly turn upwards. "Are you staring at my lips Angel?"

And it's like I've gotten my sense back. I narrow my eyes and look at him. His smile has now turned into a full-blown grin...and mother of all that's holy... his grin is to die for. But that's my inner thoughts, from outside I appear as if it doesn't matter at all... at least that's what I think I look like.

"You look awfully happy today. What's the deal Richards?" I almost want to kick his teeth but then it'll be a waste of that gorgeous smile. So, I control myself.

"I am"

"and why is that? Did you finally realize that it's time for you to grow up and get the hell out of here?" My question fuels his amusement. I don't understand this guy. Can't he see I'm trying to avoid him and hence, the consequences.

"on the contrary, you see I found out that our dearest professor who I respect profusely has given us an assignment and unfortunately for us, he has paired us together", he smirks which only fuels my anger and all I want to do is knock him out.

"you don't seem so disappointed. Am I to assume it was something you wanted, Richards"?

"oh, c'mon darling, call me Alden. I believe we are past all of these formalities since we know each other so well"

"Is that so? And when did that happen?"

"why? from the very beginning" even though you don't remember, he murmurs under his breath, and I think I'm just having an issue with my ear.

"Look Richards, how about this. We select a topic, prepare our work and just share it through email with each other. That way, we don't have to say anything to each other". I smile sweetly trying to give him a way out of this...or rather giving me a way out of this. From the way his smile has dropped, he doesn't look happy with my suggestion.

He stands making a screeching noise with his chair, everyone in the cafeteria stops talking and it's a pin drop silence...Great! So much for avoiding attention Shi. I already know I'm not going to like whatever he's going to say by the looks of his smile.

"I'll see you after school Shia, don't keep me waiting". With that he winks and leaves.

My mouth is gaping and I'm still in the process of understanding what just happened and cannot comprehend until Christy almost shouts "oh my god Shi! That was so hot. I literally had an orgasm by just watching you guys bantering. Promise me you'll give me all the details when you'll have sex with him"

I look at her as if she's insane for even thinking such a prospect but she only wiggles her eyebrows like it's inevitable. And in that moment, I realize, that it might as well be true.

Oh god, What the hell did I get myself into?
