Riya saw something move in between the fallen leaves,next to the external units of the air conditioners of the computer lab ,beneath the badam tree. she brought it to the attention of the other students .soon there was a tiny crowd near the white fences.the thing moving was a very, very tiny little squirrel.it was soacked in blood and there was a crow calling out to do it's job -scavenging .sawing this,

Ivan jumped over the fence,and picked up the baby squirrel without any hesitation.they kept it on a piece of paper the squirrel was wriggling in pain because the ants bitting it.he didnt seem to

care that it was soacked in blood,or that it was just a squirrel . the only motive was to remove the animal of

its pain.

they all rushed to the school informory.the aunty in the infirmary was horrified and told them she would not do anything for animal.

they didnt know what to do.Some teachers suggestedgoingto the biology lab for help

on their way they met the principle .at First he replaid plainly,''put it in the formalin''

Riya explained ''no sir, it's still alive! ''

then they saw the aunty in the biology lab who helped and cleaned the blood

anakha told me that the squirrel have an irregular breathing pattern and that it could be dying .

we were praying that it wouldn't ..iIt was almost 4'ocloack and we were ready to leave the schoolso finnaly we asked Riya TO CARRY THE SQUIRREL IN A BOX TO HER HOUSE.t he vet's hospital was nearest to her house so it was the best option available.

Riya went home and she and her mother left for the vet at once.after an impatient wait for seventy minutes,the doctor told them that the squirrel was fine and that it could go back to its home in the trees after a week or so.riya and stuart became,friends

After 2 weeks ,she brought the stuart to school.we all were there when we saw stuart climbing the branches. a few seconds later ,,a big squirrel and two tiny squirrel cuddled around our stuart .the family was complete .And this happened only because of the compassion in the people who took the right action,LIKE THE GOOD SAMARITAN
