Three Levels of Hell (4)

Truth be told, Li Nuxie didn't know how many levels she needed to pass before she get that red hard drive. The tunnel was still pitch dark and she was only relying to her sense of touch. Smell? Not much. Except for the damp surroundings, she cannot smell anything.

Colliding with a steel barrier, she was curious how it works. Her hands started to ran through the surface of the barrier, looking for any triggering mechanism.

She went to one side of the tunnel and ran across the other side when she didn't find anything. She pursed her lips and wanted to pull her hair when she remembered that she was in a protective suit.

She stomped her feet. Damn, how was she supposed to open it? She furrowed her eyebrows when she heard a chain pulling.

Right before her eyes, the steel barrier opened in the middle horizontally. She squinted her eyes at the sudden assault of the light coming from the other side of the barrier.

Meanwhile, a faint smile hovered on Li Chao's lips when the light reached them. It was strong but still appeared to be weak due to the distance from them. This tunnel was no joke.

Huang Wensheng turned his head to the man beside him. "Did elder sister succeed?"

Both of them were still trapped within those steel bars.

Li Chao shook his head. "Too early to tell. But she was at least closer to the next level." With his eyes trained to that faint light, he tried moving but his body did not budge against the steel bar.

He looked at Huang Wensheng. Pretty much, they resembled dumplings in their position right now. It seemed that Huang Wensheng's talent will be proven today.

The teenage boy, sensing the gaze, looked at Li Chao. He shook his head. "I know how to play Forza Horizon but never tried playing against steel bars."

Li Chao chuckled. "Well, you'll be playing now."

Li Nuxie just stood straight in front of the already opened steel barrier. She raised her head, looking at the half of the steel bar raised on the top of the tunnel. She bit her lips.

If she went inside, she would be trapped because another steel bar was yet to open. Taking a deep breath, she hopped over the barrier.

And just like what her instinct told Li Nuxie, the steel barrier fell down. It didn't make a sound aside from a swoosh. It was like a guillotine. Li Nuxie's eyes went round while the sound she was about to make was caught in her throat.

What had just happened? If she was a second late, who would know what kind of fraction her body would make. Horizontal or vertical? Li Nuxie shuddered at the thought.

Intruder on the second level.

Intruder on the second level.

Xu Wei who was spying on the monitoring room raised an eyebrow. A slight smile was seen on his lips. Looking good, huh?

Yi Wang raised his head, glancing at the man who was casually propped on the sofa. He shook his head. His friend was already celebrating but they haven't grasped victory yet.

At the other part of the room, Heng Jun remained silent. It was as if he didn't hear anything.

"Damn you all!" A voice was heard on the speaker. "You can't even stop a person from infiltrating that area! Remember this, if that person reach the third level, forget keeping your lives intact!"

Yi Wang chuckled. His eyes were filled with sinister intent. "I wonder how the Yang Family is doing right now?"

"Probably looking for First Young Master Xu?" Heng Jun interjected, stealing a glance from the person in question.

"Someone's getting hitched?" Yi Wang asked.

Xu Wei just shrugged his shoulders. No matter what, he only wanted to marry one woman. And that person was not in City S right now.

Li Chao only heard a swoosh. As a tennis player, his sense of hearing was pretty much superb. Hence, he was the only one who heard it. Did something happen? Well, Li Nuxie didn't cry for help so he was guessing that she was fine.

If someone would have seen Li Chao right now, he would definitely not associate the man with the Young Master Li. Why? Li Chao was currently plopped on the cold floor, barely moving.

Huang Wensheng was not any good. He, too, was sandwiched between steel bars, with his butt slightly protruding. It was a good thing there were no lights except those coming from the laser beams. Their enemies would be having a field day if they saw them.

"Until when are we going to be like this, elder brother?" Huang Wensheng cannot help but asked. The other side of his face was already numb from the cold. What was the use of wearing a protective gear if his face was lying on the cold floor?

Li Chao rolled his eyes. "Well, if I can only get up, right?" He exhaled. Hell and damnation. Why do they need to suffer this humiliation?

"Try moving. You're much smaller than me," he urged Huang Wensheng after a while.

Huang Wensheng barely nodded before trying to extract himself. However, as he was pulling his body forward, his right foot didn't budge. It was stuck.

He groaned as the remaining strength slowly left his body. Huang Wensheng was not resolved in dying in between these steel bars.
