Misunderstandings

Feeling the warmth of the sun on my face and the chirping of birds-insects, I felt alive.

Stretching my arms, I got out of bed. Starting my day with a warm smile and feeling light within, I feel like dancing.

Finishing my morning chores, I go to have some breakfast. But to my surprise, I find vampireee waiting for me outside my room.

"How long have you been here???"

"I was just passing by so I thought why not bring you with me for breakfast...Now, let's go princess", said Ralph with a big smile adorning his beautiful pale face.

Stretching his hand out in front of me, he paused.

Seeing this I scrunched my nose, taking a minute to understand his intentions.

It dawned on me after a few seconds, what he actually wanted. So going with the flow, I grabbed his arm and off we went to the dining hall...

Sitting on my usual place I felt a slight coldness besides me only to find vampireee besides me.

Eating my scrambled eggs I looked up to see a pair of red mesmerizing eyes.

Feeling his sudden intense gaze on me, I felt food getting stuck inside my throat making me cough uncontrollably.

I felt tears pricking the corner of my eyes, so I looked downwards. That's when a glass of water appeared in front of me magically or rather given to me by someone.

Sending these thoughts to the back of my mind I take the glass and gulped it down hungrily.

Catching my breath after a while, I look up to see a bunch of creases all around his face. Full of concern he asked me, " Are you fine??? Do we need to call a doctor?!?!"

"Hey!! I may be a human but that doesn't mean I'm that weak...

Ok!!! If you get it doesn't say such things again", said I fumingly, feeling my face go red.

He looked remorsefully showing me his puppy dog eyes with a sorry smile.

How could I resist this I must forgive my little vampire friend.

Leaving a sigh of resignation I look up and say," Sorry vampireee, I didn't mean it that way. It's just I have always been alone even though I had a lot of friends I couldn't get the love that a family gives. I'm a strong independent woman and I don't like it when people judge me like this. Just because I'm a human doesn't mean I'm weak. I know how to use basic defensive magic techniques now, so don't look down on me that irritates me. And now that you are my new best friend I would never break your trust, but I wouldn't accept anything less from you, do you get it?!?!"

Hearing this the man in question could only give a firm nod with the fire of determination burning in his eyes.

With this he stood up from his place with a sense of confidence oozing out, straightening his black sleek shirt he took one long stride towards me.

Bending down he whispered in a seductive voice, " You needn't worry about that princess because I possibly couldn't break your trust even if I wanted to...."

With this, he moved towards the door leaving me in a daze.

"Do you want to go to the town or not?!?!"

Listening to his commanding tone I immediately got up and off I went with him.

On the gates of the castle, we were stopped by a few guards saying that I wasn't allowed to go out.

On this vampireee, handled the situation with much-needed confidence, intelligence and elegance.

It took him a mere 10 minutes to convince the general and guards.

Convincing them that he shall take care of me. Going ahead of him I walked around with a spring in my steps.

The walk to the demon village was a great refreshing experience after all my days of confinement and training and training in the castle. My lungs were once again working.

All the time during our walk to the village vampire quietly followed behind not making a single sound.

As we passed the streets of the great market a deathly silence bestowed upon is. All the people around us seemed to be afraid of is moving away from our paths, weird. Ignoring this we continued our small trek. That's when I saw that same little girl who bumped into me that day, I decided to have a little talk with her. Moving towards her in a steady rhythm I saw a flash of darkness, fear pass through her eyes looking behind me. And with that, she ran away at her top speed.

Finding this odd I turned around to see the person who frightened her so much only to find no one present over there other than vampireee.

Finding this quite odd I decided to let it all go and decided to part my way from him.

"Vampireee, thank you for bringing me here. It's time we go our separate ways."

But his wicked smile said otherwise.

"You are forgetting something, princess.

I promised the guards to take care of you until the end of this journey and return you back safely. I can't leave you like this alone in the middle of these demons..."

I can't let him know my secret I must do something.

"But I'm not a small child, vampireee. I can take care of myself so you don't need to worry. As you know I'm an independent.."

"Independent woman I know, I know no need to say that again and again. I'm leaving now...."

I trusted his statement but little did I know that he was planning something else. I missed that evil glint in his eyes that would give away all my secrets afterwards.

Letting him go on his way I watch him disappear from my eyesight. Making sure of his departure I move towards the witch village.

Walking through the tedious scary jungles, I reach the small hut that is the portal to the village.

Entering inside the hut, I feel myself going through the same dark abyss like portal once again. It gives me a weird feeling in the pit of my stomach. From the fear of my surroundings, I close my eyes.

Waiting for sharp pain accompanied by the fall.

But even after waiting for a long time I don't feel any pain, instead, I feel a soft sensation all over my body making me feel awkward.

I open my eyes only to meet those red ones.

"Vampireee!!!"

There beneath me laid vampireee. So he was the one who broke my fall.

Looking him into the eyes it feels like the peace before a disaster, like the calmness of the sea, like the longingness of a lover.

I looked up to find Liam watching us with wide eyes.

Seeing this I hurriedly got up with a blushing face.

"Vampireee I am really sorry did I hurt you"

said I in an apologetic tone.

"I am fine Anuja"

That's when it dawned on me how could it be possible how could he be here.

With a determined look in my eyes, I said to Liam," Can you give us a few minutes alone???"

To which he gave a slight nod leaving us alone in the deserted street.

"What are you doing here???

Answer me right now. I don't want to hear any kind of excuses so answer truthfully?!?!", said I giving him a stern look.

But little did it affect his cool demeanour

He replied in an unperturbed manner," It's as simple as you can see I was following you...."

His nonchalant behaviour started to bug me.

This is my life who is he to interfere in it, thinking this made me see red.

"LEAVE NOW!!!"

"I'm coming with you whether you like it or not is your problem.

Anyways I promised general and others that I shall return you back safely.

That includes accompanying you in a witch village which is supposed to be one of the most dangerous places..."

"Vampireee!!!!",said I stumping my feet against the ground as I move out of this deserted street towards the elder witch's house.

" You don't want Ryan to be tensed for you now do you???" , said he in an unscrupulous demeanour.

Hearing this statement I felt my anger dissipating and guilt creeping in.

How could I lie to Ryan?

How could I hurt his feelings again, even after he told me to stay away from vampireee, even after he told me to never go out without telling him beforehand????

If he comes to know of this he would be heartbroken.

But.....But I must do this I can't live here forever after all this is not my home. How much ever I want to, even if they treat me like a family they aren't my family in a true sense.

Meanwhile, Ralph watched with a keen interest towards the changing expressions of Anuja.

He felt a prickling sensation in his heart on seeing the guilt and grief-stricken Anuja's face.

Suppressing my dark thoughts I lift my head with confidence and say, " Anyways, now that you are here let's go there together....."

"But where????"

Hearing this he didn't ask any more questions and followed me quietly.

Reaching the entrance of the street, I see Liam waiting for us.

Seeing us approach, he nodded towards me and looked towards Ralph.

"He will be coming with us....."

"Ok. Follow me."

With this, we left to meet the Reeva. After about half an hour of the walk, we reached our destination. Ralph followed me quietly during the whole journey with silence.

Entering the mansion Liam left us to navigate by ourselves. Reaching her room I lifted my hand to knock but before I could do so a smirking voice said, " Come in Anuja and don't forget to bring your little vampire friend with you...."

Getting a little stunned by this sudden response it takes me a moment to regain my senses. After a second, I open the door.

Watching this whole scene with silence, Ralph didn't utter a single word.

I opened the door, which made a creecking noise in the process. Entering in one could see a young beauty sitting in an antique chair.

"So you are here finally. And you have also brought Vampire King with you...

Now that's quite a big surprise."

"Hello Reeva"

"Huh!?!?! You both know each other!!!!"

"Hmmm, of course, didn't she tell you, after all, I'm the one who is helping and sponsoring this village..."

"Whaaa....????"

"I see, your habit of blowing your own trumpet hasn't changed yet.....

Sit down why don't you have some tea...", said Reeva with a warm smile with a tint of flirtations in her eyes patting the seat beside her.

But there were no seats to sit other than a little space beside Reeva.

Seeing this Ralph said, " How can I sit when a beautiful lady like Anuja is standing beside me."

"Anuja this man beside you is an evil businessman who knows nothing other than profit and loss. He is a cold person. He has no feelings. I'm very surprised to see this humane form of his..."

With this, she flicked her wrist in a circular motion once and a sofa appeared with a swishing sound.

"Here you go...

Now let know all about your days without me.....", said Reeva looking towards Ralph with a mischievous smile blooming across her face.

And so started there old talks which continued for some time, Ralph seemed to be quite happy, smiling every now and then.

I'm happy that he is having a good time maybe I should I should set him up with Reeva. She may be a little old but her looks say otherwise. And in this world, you can't guess one's age from his looks.

After a while, I decided to interrupt their little conversation and get to the talks for which we have come.

" Hmhmh", said I clearing my throat.

"Let's get to the point. I have finished all the spells in that book"

" So fast....

Hmm, let's try it out then. Come let's go to out."

Going through the maze of corridors we finally reach an opening.
