"But Dad…" Feng Dingxiong placed a hand on Feng Junjie's shoulder, signaling him to keep quiet if he didn't want to face repercussions.
Junjie gulped, realizing he had irritated his father. He quickly fell silent, knowing his dad's temper well.
"Fine. Do what you want." He raised his hands in surrender and turned to Xiu Mei. "Miss Xiu Mei, do you mind if I look around your villa?"
"Um, okay. I'll give you a tour," she replied, hesitating briefly before leading them inside.
She first took them to Feng Jianyu's room. The spacious area featured floor-to-ceiling bulletproof glass walls that offered stunning views of the forest while flooding the room with natural light—perfect for recovery.
Decorated in warm tones, the room boasted a large balcony filled with exotic plants and a suspended swing bed that looked inviting.
Feng Junjie suppressed the urge to take a nap there.
"This floor has only two bedrooms and a small guest room—one for me and the other for your brother," Xiu Mei explained.
Junjie smirked, his mind racing with playful thoughts.
When they reached the terrace, he gasped. An infinity pool overlooked the forest valley, surrounded by various plants. In the corner, another igloo patio featured a king-size bed for stargazing.
Standing at the edge, they could see the entire property—a breathtaking view that even Junjie had to admit surpassed any of their own.
"Miss Xiu Mei, if you're ever willing to sell this villa, I'll pay ten times the market price," Junjie proposed shamelessly.
Xiu Mei frowned. "My house is priceless. Drop the thought."
"Pfft…" Assistant Jun struggled to stifle a laugh, earning a death glare from Junjie.
Xiu Mei began explaining the security systems installed. Junjie remained skeptical. "Really?" he asked, doubt dripping from his voice.
She handed him the remote control for a toy helicopter outside. "If you like my villa so much, I'll give it to you for free. Just fly that helicopter and land it in the garden."
Junjie raised an eyebrow, gauging her seriousness. Seeing her determined expression, he realized she wasn't joking.
"Challenge accepted! If you lose, this villa is mine. No backsies!" he declared, pointing at her.
"BOOM!"
Twenty seconds later, a loud noise echoed through the air.
Feng Dingxiong pursed his lips, feeling ashamed of his son. When will he grow up?
Xiu Mei regarded him with an amused expression, while Assistant Jun jumped, startled by the sound.
Junjie froze, still holding the remote, eyes wide and jaw dropped.
"Hey!" Assistant Jun patted him on the shoulder, trying to snap him out of it.
With a pout, Junjie turned to Xiu Mei, handing over the remote as if defeated.
"Mr. Feng, I'll show you…" Xiu Mei started.
"No need; your preparations are sufficient," Feng Dingxiong cut her off, eager to avoid further embarrassment. "We'll take our leave. My son will arrive at 3:00 a.m." He walked toward the chopper, followed by Assistant Jun.
"Bye," Junjie said, rushing after them.
As the chopper took off, Xiu Mei took a deep breath and headed inside.
"Uncle Tom? Aunt Mary? Where are you?"
"What happened, Miss?" they both asked as they approached her.
"A guest will be staying with us for a few days, maybe longer, so be prepared," she said, stifling a yawn as she headed to her bedroom for a nap. She hadn't slept in three days, and she knew she wouldn't sleep well tonight with a certain someone arriving.
She nicknamed Feng Jianyu "HEADACHE" for a reason.
"Miss, do you need a back massage?" Aunt Mary asked, sensing her fatigue.
"No thanks, just some sleep. Good night," Xiu Mei waved without looking back.
"Good night? It's only 11:00 in the morning!" Butler Tom chuckled.
When Xiu Mei awoke, darkness enveloped the house. She bolted upright, glancing at the clock. "What? 7:00 p.m.? Did I sleep like a log?" She rushed to freshen up and headed downstairs for dinner.
After eating, she retreated to the igloo patio with her laptop. Butler Tom served her chamomile tea.
"Young Miss, when will our guests arrive? It's already dark," he asked.
"Oh! I forgot to mention—they'll arrive at 3:00 a.m. Don't worry about receiving them; I'll handle it. You two can call it a night," Xiu Mei said, taking a sip of her tea.
"Okay, Miss."
At 3:00 a.m.
Xiu Mei was still working on her laptop when the sound of the chopper filled the air.
She had programmed the software two days prior to allow Feng Corporation's chopper to land safely, so she didn't worry about the laser sensors.
As the chopper landed, she saw Feng Junjie, Assistant Jun, and a man in a white lab coat—Feng Jianyu's doctor—step out.
In the wheelchair was a man covered in a black Pashmina shawl, appearing either asleep or sedated.
"Let's take him inside," Xiu Mei instructed.
