CHAPTER-''Again!! He helped Me''

EIRA POV:

Oh God, what a boring day! No college means nothing to do. What should I occupy myself with? Novels! Yes! My true love, novels. I decided to head to the library to find some. Once there, I browsed the shelves for the perfect read. Ah! "Me Before You" by Jojo Moyes—my favorite kind of romantic story. Just what I was looking for.

As I clutched the book, a strange feeling washed over me, as if someone were watching. I glanced around, but no one was in sight. Just my imagination, I thought. Time to leave.

I started walking back to the hostel when I felt a shadow looming over me. Turning slightly, I spotted a man trailing behind me. The street was eerily silent, not a single bird in sight. Panic surged through me, and I began to run. He matched my pace, closing in. Oh God, please save me! Just as he reached out for my shoulder, a fist flew through the air and connected with his face. I spun around to see who it was—Adrian.

"What are you doing here?" he demanded, his eyes blazing with anger.

"I... I could ask you the same," I stammered, attempting to sound brave but failing miserably.

"I'm asking you again. What are you doing here?" he yelled, making me flinch.

His fury was palpable, and despite my fear, I couldn't help but notice how handsome he looked in that moment. Wait, did I just think he was handsome? Focus, Eira!

"I went to the library," I murmured, barely above a whisper.

"I'll walk you back to the hostel," he said, his tone suddenly calm after a moment of silence.

I hesitated, wanting to refuse, but his anger made me think twice. Nodding my head, I fell into step beside him.

The walk was quiet. I tried to muster the courage to strike up a conversation, but before I knew it, we were at the hostel. He turned and walked away without a word, leaving me in a whirlwind of thoughts. All night, I tossed and turned, unable to sleep. Why was he so rude and arrogant? Yet, he always seemed to come to my rescue. Oh God, it was all so confusing.

Just as I was starting to drift off, a loud crash jolted me awake.

I crept out of my room, heart racing. The house was quiet, but then I heard a faint noise coming from Andy's room. Curiosity got the better of me, and I tiptoed toward her door, pressing my ear against it to listen. I knew it was wrong, but I just needed to know she was okay. As I leaned closer, I noticed a small hole in the door. I peered through it and saw a figure—a man, his face partially obscured by a hood. The room was in disarray, as if he was searching for something. Suddenly, he pulled out his phone and said, "Work done!" before jumping out the window.

That voice!

I felt my heart drop as realization hit me. It was Adrian's voice. What was he doing in Andy's room? Where was Andy? What on earth was happening? I needed to confront him.
