Starting Anew

All her bags are packed, she's ready to go...

Sounds like a song. But, unlike the song, she wouldn't ride a jet plane. Hehe.

Alex had mixed emotions. She felt excited about being free to the envious eyes of the mother-and-daughter pair and for a new life awaiting her... rather, them. But she felt worried for his dad. He would be left with two monsters in the house.

She was thinking of a lot of things while waiting for his dad outside the house when suddenly...

"Hello! Hello! Hellooo!"

Jenny came in a loud entrance that startled Alex and took her away from her thoughts.

"You're here! Wow! Are you going to help me bring things to Alexandria Heights?" said Lisa after she welcomed Jenny with a hug.

"What?" Jenny put her hands on her waist. "Are you serious? You really think that I would carry your huge luggages with this dress? No way!"

Alex eyed her from head to toe and thought if she was going to walk in a runway. "What's with you? Why are you wearing like that? I know it's not a formal attire but... where are the pair of shorts and sneakers?"

Yeah. Jenny is a richy-rich kid but she just loved wearing shorts and sneakers or boots paired with oversized T-shirts.

She just rolled her eyes.

"I am wearing this for my pictorial with my new home."

"Oh... you're moving too? Where?"

"Yeah! At Alexandria Heights." Jenny smiled.

"Wow! Really? We'll be neighbors now!"

"Neighbors? Naaaah!"

Alex got confused. "But you said that you are moving to Alexandria Heights and I'm moving there too. So that means we should be neighbors."

"You did not get it? Of course we won't be neighbors because..." Jenny is prolonging Alex' agony by teasing her more.

"Can't you just spill it already?" Alex asked impatiently and slapped Jenny's arms.

"Okay okay. We are going to be housemates!!!" Jenny exclaimed.

Alex' eyes were as wide as an owl's. Yes, they've done a lot of sleepovers already. But living together in a house? This was a huge surprise for her.

"For reeeeaaaal?!?" she finally exclaimed.

"Yes. For real honey," Tom answered from the back as he got out from their house. Alex looked back at him. She ran to him with teary eyes and hugged him.

"Do you think I would let you live alone?"

Alex could not take it anymore and started sobbing. "I will miss you dad!" she said in between sobs.

"What miss are you talking about? Will I not be able to visit the penthouse of the building my company built?" Tom wiped his daughter tears and they both laughed.

"I know Liam is going through tough times and he can't be by your side always so I hired Jenny to live with you."

Alex gazed at Jenny coldly who was smirking with her brows raised.

"Hired? You are paid to live with me?"

"What? Do you think it's easy to babysit you?" Jenny jokingly replied while Alex pouted.

"Hahaha. We are just kidding you. But of course, I would take care of your necessities there." Tom pacified Alex. "Okay. I still have a meeting with my investors. I'll visit you in a few days. You two will ride the shuttle. Rolly will drive you there."

Tom kissed his daughter on her forehead and bid goodbye to the two girls. He gave a few reminders to Rolly before going to his own car.

Jenny and Alex got into the shuttle where Alex' things were already arranged. Alex felt two pairs of eyes from different windows while the shuttle was leaving but she won't be bothered anymore.

'I'm just waiting for the right time..." she thought with a smirk.
