I don't like you

"Well, I don't like you." Yin pulled back and released Yang.

The confession turned Yang's heart heavy and disappointment coursed through him. Even if he knew beforehand, it still hurt to hear the truth.

"I... I guessed so much." He looked away dejectedly and formed his hands into fists. His entire body shook as he tried to contain his emotions.

When Yin saw his reaction, she felt a tiny bit of regret. The way he acted right now reminded her of a child whose favorite bunny just died. It caused her heart to ache, but she firmly steeled her heart against it. Greater things could only be accomplished through sacrifices after all.

Just as she was about to leave, the Fire God regained his senses and took a determined step forward.

"Why don't you like me?"

This question took her by suprise, but she concealed it immediately. Her wheels started to spin as she thought of something.

"Do I have to like you?" She asked with an indifferent voice as she looked at him coldly.

"No." Yang was a bit frightened by the coolness that was emitted from her.

"Am I obligated to like you?" She continued while her voice dropped even more in temperature.

"No." His voice came out even more quietly.

"What is there to like about you?"

Yang felt like his heart was stabbed by each of her questions. He bit his lips harshly as he closed his eyes and kept clenching his fists.

"You are weak yet you always act as if you are invincible. You possess a brain, yet you always act impulsively. Tell me, what is there to like about you, Yang of the Fire Clan?"

With that said, she left him without being hindered.

The truth was that he didn't even notice her movements. Instead, he was caught up by her final words. They dealt the final blow towards him and his pride. It was also the heaviest of them. Every word repeated itself endlessly in his mind like a broken record and each repeat caused his heart to break a bit more.

Just like that, Yang spent his first day as an immortal in 200 years on the cliff by the Sea of Pondering. He wasn't even aware of the time as he stood there and was trapped in his dark thoughts.

Yin on the other hand didn't immediately return home to the Ice Realm, but stopped after she had entered the forest near the Sea of Pondering. She took a deep breath to calm herself, but became alert as she sensed someone approaching her. A sword was formed in her hand as she turned around.
