Although there is a point to be argued that buying one excellent quality item that lasts over 5 years is much better than constantly buying decent quality items that may or may not still work after a year, that's not the point of todays chapter.
Today is about how everyone should be willing spend more on certain items that are usually very neglected.
Take for example a pillow. An item that you'll spend around a third of life on. Or how about the mattress that you'll be lying on during that same period of time. Those are items that should have one of the highest priorities on your list of things to upgrade if you have cash to spare.
What I'm trying to get at is to not cheap out on essential quality of life items.
