5 Chapter 4: " Thank you Meg "
13 stared at the sleeping Sid, deeply in thought. 'How do I adapt in this new world?'
She have longed dreamed to have a peaceful and normal life, to have a house and people around her called family. Way back in her previous life, after a mission was executed, the five of them will immediately return to the lab for physical monitoring and fluid replenishments. Their steps, movements, and even breathing were monitored and evaluated in a timely manner.
They were safely placed in laboratory glass tubes and will only be released once a special request from the higher authority arrives in their base. A specified target, a specified location, a specified weapon, and a specified time.
No Humanity.
No Soul.
No Life.
No Freedom.
They abide by the program without deviation and they must do things in the designed order. They are created like this, and in that time 13 thought that they would also vanish like this.
But now she has a chance. In exchange for this girl's life is her freedom to experience life itself. She faced the mirror;
"Thank you Meg, for giving me this life. And in exchange, I will take care of the people around you. No harm will fall unto them and this poison in your body, the one who instigated this will surely pay." After saying these words, a warm feeling enveloped her body and she felt very light and comfortable. A sudden sweet and sad voice echoed in her mind.
"There is someone who is after my family's life, please protect them well. Their lives, I place them in your hands from now on."
As the crying voice fades, she felt sad and grateful for the original owner of this body for giving her the opportunity to live the life that she wished for.
She slowly sat on the bed and gently stroked the hair of the boy sleeping as she whispers "I will take care of you and grandfather in Meg's place. For those who wants to bring you trouble, I will make sure to dry their blood and break their bones. We will find them and fight them heads up."
Suddenly she heard gentle knocks coming from the door. It slowly opened, revealing a lady in white pushing a cart.
"Time for medicine Ms. Meg." The nurse cheerfully said.
Sid suddenly wakes up and takes the tray from the nurse. "Thank you for coming, I will help my sister with that." Sid replied as he assisted the nurse.
He slowly picked one capsule, gently placed it in Meg's mouth, and gave her some water to drink. Sid continued until the four capsules are taken.
After checking her condition, the nurse left and quietly closed the door.
There is silence in the room as the siblings stared at each other, until Sid spoke.
"Meggy what kind of stunt are you playing this time, huh?! Are you auditioning in a circus? Is that why you're practicing a pair shoes that high?!"
"Your body is long enough to touch the ceiling of every floor!! Yet you still wish to become a clown wearing stilts, might as well we open one for you to perform." Sid gently knocked Meg's head while smilingly looking at her sister, thinking of her stupidity.
13 is utterly confused by the current situation, she doesn't know how to reply in Meg's manner. "My apologies brother, for the difficulties I had brought you. Please let me be forgiven." 13 stated. 'This is how normal humans reply..... Right?'
Hearing these words, Sid is horrified by the change in his sister's attitude. "Whoa! Meggy, are you for real?! You're saying an apology for me? Is it the end of the world?" Sid teased her. While doing this, he gave a banana to Meg. "Here Meggy, I brought these for you, your favorite."
13 accepted the fruit that Sid gave her, she knows that it is a fruit and it will provide her the nutrients that her body currently needs. However, from her previous life, all the supplements provided to them was either in the form of capsules, tablets, and liquid vials.
'Normal people eat these things using their mouth and teeth to chew, and then they swallow it so that they can absorb the nutrients... Is that correct? I don't remember the rest though..'
She seriously glared at the fruit and with a quick motion she directly bit into the banana. She slowly chewed the fruit, tasting the bitter and sweet flavor of it. Upon receiving its flavor, she became happy and contented with----
"Meggy!! Have you gone mad?! Why are you eating the banana like that?? You have to remove the peel before you eat this." He was horrified by her sister's action. He gently peeled the fruit before giving it again to Meg.
'What happened to my sister?!'
